These kittens have been a blessing for me. We found them behind my husbands garage on Mother’s Day. 🥰 I’m allergic to so many things, but so far the cats have been ok. Saved this for in my foiling file. Wonderful technique for those of us who do not want to buy all the hot foil stuff. Shorty is adorable. We have the "Tiger Trio" Sassy Pants, Spit Fire & Angel, outdoor cats that reside inside my studio in the cold of winter. Angel, like Shorty, likes to visit my glass work bench. She doesn't always understand when mom makes her get down due to "glass dust" which is not good for soft paws. But, other times she is my creative buddy (when not doing glass work) 😺Thank you for sharing this technique with us.

I just found your channel. I had to try this right away, had webby glue but shiny release paper. I used a nail block sander on the shiny release paper. It worked!!

I think I’ll try this with stacked word die cuts - I won’t have to use the transfer paper as my die will be sturdy, I’ll just be sure to add a layer of the adhesive sheet to the front of the word. Don’t know why this idea never occurred to me - glad to have discovered your channel!

That background is actually patterned card stock that came in a kit from Simonsaysstamp. It’s great quality card stock too. My kitties name is Shorty and the fluffy orange tabby that you will see in my videos is her brother Butters.😍😍 These kittens have been such a blessing to me. I am not familiar with the transfer tape product, so definitely grateful to know that step.. and where to hopefully find it inexpensively. A touch of foil does so much for a card, and foiling machines plus plates are so out of my budget. This is a terrific hack TYFS!! 😀

Thank you for the video - great idea! I had a question though - normally if I do foil with adhesive, it scratches easily. Does running it through your machine like the help to stop the scratches in the foil?
Hello Cathy. ❤️❤️ Thank you! 😍Different foils will have different quality standards. For me, the Cricut brand foils are the worst to scratch. Ranger foils are really good quality and deco foils are good quality too and will scratch less. I love Ranger foils. As long as your top clear plate is free from cuts and is smooth, this technique will definitely be helpful in preventing scratches. ❤️❤️❤️

Awww thank you. I don’t have a cuttlebug to try it out, but it should work as long as you run your stuff through like a die cutting sandwhich. Hope that makes sense. Just run everything through like you would your thin dies. Hope this helps. ❤️❤️❤️ Have a great night! ❤️❤️

Simonsaysstamp online has both products available and they do ship internationally. The Sizzix adhesive is now available in 6x6 sheets instead of 12x12. ❤️❤️
I will definitely have to try that to see if it will work. I tried it on my work surface, but it didn’t work to get rid of the static. I will try applying directly to the die cut to see if that works. Or I could try a dryer sheet just to avoid the powder possibly getting on the adhesive of the die cut. This is just a different way to use crafting supplies. This also lays perfectly flat on top the card. If you want a raised appearance, then definitely use foil card stock. 😍❤️❤️🤗 Hugs, Missy

Awww thank you so much! 🥰😍 I try to teach in a way that’s super easy to follow and understand. 😍 The Xyron adhesive cartridge makes it a little tricky to pull off a hack like this unless I can find a way for it to work with that adhesive. The way I show in the video, is the best way to get the technique to work with incredible results. I tried several other adhesives and it was horrible and just wouldn’t work. I will try the Xyron though to see if I can come up with a way for it to work. 🥰 The kitties send lots of love your way! ❤️❤️❤️ I’m so happy you enjoy seeing them. 🤗🤗🤗🤗 Have a great weekend! ❤️
This is a low tack transfer tape. The only brand tape I recommend for this. You are not pressing it hard to paper. Don’t press hard. If pressing it down too hard it will rip your cardstock. I use white hammermill 100lb cardstock and it works beautifully for all my cards. I haven’t had any sticky left on my cards for over foiling to happen. If you feel like the transfer tape is too tacky for your cardstock, use a T-shirt and pounce the transfer tape and make it even more less tacky. Hope this is easy to understand. 🙂

Any thing that is super low tack should work as long as it doesn’t rip your cardstock. I don’t recommend trying it that way. You need the transfer tape to hold everything together while removing the backing from the die cut. It helps keep your fingers away from the adhesive. If you try it without transfer tape (which I did experimenting) you will get your fingers in the adhesive and have a tangled mess that won’t work. If you accidentally remove the adhesive with your fingers your foil has nothing to stick to, therefore ruining your project. I recommend exactly how I showed in the video. I tested a lot of ways to do this, and failed a lot before finally finding what actually works to make this hack possible. I hope all that makes sense. 🥰🥰❤️❤️ 🤗🤗

I think I’ll try this with stacked word die cuts - I won’t have to use the transfer paper as my die will be sturdy, I’ll just be sure to add a layer of the adhesive sheet to the front of the word. Don’t know why this idea never occurred to me - glad to have discovered your channel!

What is the background behind the let is snow? It shows up right nice. I love how you say "stinkin", I say that, too. Is kitty's name shorty? Cats just make me feel so good! The cards came out great!
That background is actually patterned card stock that came in a kit from Simonsaysstamp. It’s great quality card stock too. My kitties name is Shorty and the fluffy orange tabby that you will see in my videos is her brother Butters.😍😍 These kittens have been such a blessing to me. I am not familiar with the transfer tape product, so definitely grateful to know that step.. and where to hopefully find it inexpensively. @@CreationsByMiss Ahhh. I was wondering why you would use the transfer tape step when it seemed an expensive way to just place adhesive down on paper, but if it only cost $1.25 I can understand. Wish we had a Dollar Tree here in Australia. Some of our dollar stores have reasonable craft areas but not like it seems the Dollar Tree does
Thank you for the video - great idea! I had a question though - normally if I do foil with adhesive, it scratches easily. Does running it through your machine like the help to stop the scratches in the foil?
Hello Cathy. ❤️❤️ Thank you! 😍Different foils will have different quality standards. For me, the Cricut brand foils are the worst to scratch. Ranger foils are really good quality and deco foils are good quality too and will scratch less. I love Ranger foils. As long as your top clear plate is free from cuts and is smooth, this technique will definitely be helpful in preventing scratches. ❤️❤️❤️

The foil you used what was it? Is it Cricut foil like for embossing? Not heat foil right?
For the Static cling could you run an anti-static powder bag before sticking to the transfer paper?
I will definitely have to try that to see if it will work. I tried it on my work surface, but it didn’t work to get rid of the static. I will try applying directly to the die cut to see if that works. Or I could try a dryer sheet just to avoid the powder possibly getting on the adhesive of the die cut. Is there some advantage I’m missing doing this over cutting from mirror foil card stock?
This is just a different way to use crafting supplies. This also lays perfectly flat on top the card. If you want a raised appearance, then definitely use foil card stock. 😍❤️❤️🤗 Hugs, Missy
Does Press and Seal work the same as the transfer tape from the Dollar Tree?

The Xyron adhesive cartridge makes it a little tricky to pull off a hack like this unless I can find a way for it to work with that adhesive. The way I show in the video, is the best way to get the technique to work with incredible results. I tried several other adhesives and it was horrible and just wouldn’t work. I will try the Xyron though to see if I can come up with a way for it to work. 🥰

Won’t the transfer tape leave stickiness on your card and the foil then stick all over your card? Maybe I am missing something?
This is a low tack transfer tape. The only brand tape I recommend for this. You are not pressing it hard to paper. Don’t press hard. If pressing it down too hard it will rip your cardstock. I use white hammermill 100lb cardstock and it works beautifully for all my cards. I haven’t had any sticky left on my cards for over foiling to happen. If you feel like the transfer tape is too tacky for your cardstock, use a T-shirt and pounce the transfer tape and make it even more less tacky. Hope this is easy to understand. 🙂

Any thing that is super low tack should work as long as it doesn’t rip your cardstock. I don’t recommend trying it that way. You need the transfer tape to hold everything together while removing the backing from the die cut. It helps keep your fingers away from the adhesive. If you try it without transfer tape (which I did experimenting) you will get your fingers in the adhesive and have a tangled mess that won’t work. If you accidentally remove the adhesive with your fingers your foil has nothing to stick to, therefore ruining your project. I recommend exactly how I showed in the video. I tested a lot of ways to do this, and failed a lot before finally finding what actually works to make this hack possible. I hope all that makes sense. 🥰🥰❤️❤️ 🤗🤗
