I'm with Marcus. I played my last game in 1972 and most things about modern offenses are better than what we ran. Short yardage and goal line plays are not. Handing the ball to a stationary back standing 4 yards deep in the backfield can't compete with power plays where the back is getting the hand off at full speed one step from the line of scrimmage.

It seemed like the Tigers did everything they could to blow this game and they did. Too many penalties based on being cocky and hothheaded. On defense arm tackling that has become an LSU 'trademark'. Making good stops on first and second down but letting USC off the hook on third. A defensive backfield that would have played better by sitting on the bench. On offense wastimg too many plays running when it obviously was ineffective. With few exceptions Nussmier looked like he was more concerned about not getting intercepted than taking a reasonable risk and trusting his ability and that of his receivers. And Will Campbell... Next time THINK before running off at the mouth about a 'fistfight'. You do realize that the other team uses this as motivation material?
