Loved this tutorial, Kev! I'm tackling 3D in Blender and this video really just helped me understand the concept of materials/texturing/UVs that much more! Keep up the great work, man!
Hi, and thank you. It is so great what you are doing here. I'm hoping to learn as much as I can about foliage. I need to set up a pipeline for texturing a ton of alien jungle flora.
Hey Kevin, another great video as always! I was just curious if you’ve ever thought about doing a deep dive into Lyra’s locomotion/animation system? I’d love to see your take on it, you have a special talent for explaining these complex systems in an easy to understand way. Happy Friday!
A bunch of the animation tutorials do break down some of the methods Lyra uses. Ill go back and see if htere are some gaps or if you have specifics that might be good to expand on, just let me know.
Love this topic you definitely answered some questions I had about texture maps and materials. There were some disconnects though as you worked through the different software packages. Maybe a re-record to spend a bit more time on distinct features without the searching around for specific components in each software. I understand it's difficult to do that in a live stream. Great job though with this format. One question I do have, is it necessary to use programs like Maya or blender to accomplish this, or can it all be done in UE. As a hobbiest with limited time, it's difficult to find the time to learn UE, on top of learning other software suites. Thank you so very much for your time and efforts in creating this content and being such an incredible instructor sharing your vast knowledge with all of us!
@@livinfreestyle6727 Yeah that would be very cool to watch and learn from. You have a great way of explaining topics, and it feels more succinct when you have it scripted vs on the fly in a live setting. Especially your use of analogies. As an example I was rewatching some of your first videos and the explanation you gave about variables and buckets and how the getter and setter nodes were like someone getting or taking something out of the bucket vs someone setting or putting something into the bucket really hit home and stuck. I've listened to explanations of variables before but never really understood the actual definition and use case until I heard it explained by you. Anyway, as always, thank you for your time and effort with this content and specifically with all the UE content you have produced and are continually creating. Your efforts don't go unnoticed! Cheers!!
can you do a video on substance painter regarding height map skin pore seams in human model ? no matter what I do I can always see the seams if the skin has pores ,don't know maybe you have some other tecknique
I am definitely not a substance painter expert, but I will keep this in the back of my mind and maybe we can post the question in the discord for example
Thanks so much for what you do Kevin! These tutorials continue to be invaluable resources for new and aspiring game developers.
That is great to hear and helps motivate me to keep going

I appreciate that perspective. Maybe I can make some shorter pre-recorded ones, almost like an intro texture series. Thx!!!
