Fjällräven (Arctic fox in Swedish) is a firm started in Örnsköldsvik, Västernorrland, Sweden by a schoolmate to my mother. He started very small, invented durable and practical clothes, backpacks etc. And WOW did the company grow!
I bought a Fjällräven jacket when I was abt 19yo and still have it, now at 64yo!!!

Totally agree. Gear matters! Just picked up a Fjallraven shell and will likely invest in the pants at some point.
*to clarify: "invest" is just meant in the sense of everything you spend money on is an investment, to a degree. I am probably just going to keep hiking in slacks however. They work well enough. Still happy with my jacket.

Same here. From Mammut to Mountain Equipment, they all make excellent pants for hiking and climbing in Europe mountain terrain. And of course Fjällräven with their bread and butter Barents (Pro) pants. But bought my first Keb in summer last year and since then never changed back. They feel so comfortable you don‘t notice you‘re wearing them. Used them also for several times for indoor climbing with no problems in movement. And even during hot summer days they won‘t give you this sweaty feeling all the other synthetic fibre pants do. Leg pockets are postioned perfectly and ventilation zippers make them a little bit more versatile during July and August (which aren‘t the ideal month for the Keb honestly - but they will do it if you are looking for a „one for everything pant“).

I personally fell in love with italian army overpants. Made of gore tex, has optional slings, easy to put one or multiple wool underlayers in the winter. Since all I do is go through brambles, bushes and complicated terrain they've been a lifesaver, they dont get stuck on anything and they're a lot more practical than my old pair of forest pants. Would really recommend if you need really tough and durable pants.

I think they're excellent 3 season pants, fall, winter, and spring. Other than the lack lustre quality I much prefer the kuhl revolvr during the summer months, and I live north of the 60th parallel. I first bought the kebs during a heat wave (or what I call a heat wave, which was plus 22°C, I've experienced much hotter weather, but I am far more of a cold weather person) & I had never wanted to throw a part of pants in the garbage so fast. I came to like them as the temperatures dropped though.

After heavy use some models like Vidda and Barents still hold up ok, but my Kebs are deteriorating more quickly. The zip-off version is 2999SEK = 290 $US. So for a while back I now pay a third or a fourth of that price for pants from other brands in nearly the same quality.

The stretch material is like a magnet and nearly impossible to get them out and the kebs are about 50% that material. I do a lot of hunting and the vidda pro varieties are a lot better in that scenario as there is hardly any of the stretch material...bet yes the keb are an amazing trail pants.

Being from the UK I actually find Fjallraven G-1000 to be a bit cold without a base layer, whereas Haglofs Rugged Mountain pants are warmer and the material feels thicker, and they are considerably less expensive.
