  • In this vlog I visit the Efteling theme park in the Netherlands to take a look at the changes and updates for 2023 including the construction of the new Efteling Grand Hotel and Intamins new Danse Macabre attraction.
Efteling is a beautiful family theme park that has won numerous, well deserved awards since its inception back in 1952. Featuring some amazing rides like Joris en de Draak and Baron 1898 as well some truly spectacular dark rides such as Symbolica, it's a resort that should be on everyones list to visit.

34:48 The part of Spookslot that's still standing on the left will indeed be incorporated into the new building for Danse Macabre. However, the part you see in the back on the right has already been built for the rest of the themed area around the new ride, and will be accessible this summer. This will include new toilets, a sweets shop and another food place.

Some background info on that 'weird scene' in Fata Morgana. It's a Djinn, which is a magical creature from the culture that the ride is based on ^^
Fata Morgana also means 'mirage' , an image caused by atmospheric refraction / light waves. So what you see is actually 'not really there'.
Efteling uses this story telling technique a lot, just as with Droomvlucht, so they can have a variety of scenes that don't have a coherent storyline, but do form one big story :)
Great vlog! You can really see how much effort you put into it. Looking forward to see more vlogs from you

Droomvlucht was closed during March to give it a fresh up, some technical works and all new lightning. During May they do the same with the Fata Morgana. Also Baron 1898 was according to the CEO, just an infill attraction cause Symbolica was the main focus. So it may not have the best layout, but it is storytelling wise, one of the best Dive machines out there. (The baron discovered gold and the white woman, which is basically a mysterious mist, according to legend killed everyone to protect the land). That is basically the story of Baron 1898, and your mine cart goes Rogue because of the white woman.

      @@_adventureplanet Viking has a height of 131ft compared to Halve Maen's 67ft.
In full swing it reaches a height of 141ft compared to 79ft.
So yeah. Halve Maen is definitely not the biggest anymore.

Just to be sure: you said Joris en de Draak was only 1 of 2 dueling wooden coasters left. Did you mean in the world? In that case, at least Stampida in PortAventura should be added to that list 😉

I did mean worldwide, but also manufactured by GCI - sorry, wasn’t very clear on that 😏 Thanks so much for watching!

@@_adventureplanet haha ok, fair enough 🤣. Have you been to PortAventura yet btw? As far as theming goes, it's an absolutely spectacular park with lots of great coasters. Stampida being one of my favorites 😉

I have indeed, but I’m long overdue a visit. I’d like to get out soon if possible to do a bit of a Spanish mini tour including Porta, Ferrari Land, Parque Warner Madrid etc.

    No no not stoemtrain.... stoamtrayn
Double oo in Dutch is pronounced like boat and coat not boot. (The English oo as in boot would be oe in Dutch )
The ei in 'trein' (train) is a sound that doesn't exist in English, but it comes close to Dye or Ay. Although if a Dutch native would pronounce it like that it would be considered terribly unsophisticated (think My Fair Lady bad accent) 😅

Not quite sure what you’re referring to but of course everything in the whole video is my opinion…I’m not going to say ‘in my opinion’ after every single thing I talk about, that would get a little monotonous no? It’s for the viewers to decide whether they agree or not. Thanks for watching!
