Navy 64 to 68. Swim call off Philippine Islands and in Coral Sea. Two ships boats out with 2 men per boat with M1s. No sharks but had several guys stung by jelly fish in Coral Sea. Fourth of July off Singapore with steel beach party. No beer.
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 hmmmm…. Probably swimming in the ocean versus swimming in a pool is a bit intimidating to some sailors. To be proficient in swimming, ocean or pool, does require getting out there and doing it. I’m surprised the navel command don’t make the swim call a mandatory exercise just brush up on swim skills
Timothy Leighton the water was salty asf and it was a work out the current was pulling us away from the ship so we were constantly swimming closer. It was exciting tho I would do it again!!
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 sure seems worth it though Haha ever start thinking about what could be swimming around under you guys? That would freak me out
Timothy Leighton definitely worth it at least once. The whole time I was thinking about shit attacking us..lol but they got people with guns out on boats keeping a eye out.
If you had difficulty floating in boot camp, try it in the open ocean. The Salt water is more dense making it a lot easier.
John Whitt yes you are right it was a lot easier to float. Just they current was pulling us away from the ship.
Yo that looks terrifying. Bottom empty and blue. Ain’t nothing for you to hold on to.
Billy Da Squid it’s like a bottomless pit. Yeah if you sunk to the bottom ain’t no saving you.
Looks like a lot of fun
Yes it was!!
Looks like so much fun :)
Red Fox very fun. Crossed off on my bucket list!!

Billp that’s so cool I know that water was clear as hell!!
I wish if was at the same place
It was nice!
Is this a mandatory thing or is it for pure amusement and recreation?
eric osornia just for recreation they don’t make you do it only if you want to. Most people can swim anyway.
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 most? I thought every sailor has to know how?
@@jogmas12 they do just to pass bootcamp but after that you don’t need to know how.
