The Cardona's can just flat out sang!!
One of my favorite parts about this cover is the way EJ, Eli and J None pass the notes around and THEN, they keep smiling at each other. I love musicians who are happy with what they are doing and like each other while they are doing it!!

EJ is one of the best tenors out there. If you haven't listened to his and Voctives version of Oh Come all ye Faithful, you really must. He just kills it. This cover is one of VP's most underrated covers, only second to Can't Help Falling in Love. And if you haven't heard that one I highly recommend.
Seconded, I think Voctave are a bit left out of the a Capella reaction world because they’re more ‘classical’ but they’re so beautiful. Their version of Come all Ye Faithful is stunning
I feel like Voctave gets left out a little just because they're a larger group - there's something very special hearing the sounds that these groups of 5 are able to make. Then again, I also haven't gone that far into Voctave (though the Home Free sound also isn't much for me, so I don't listen to much of them either)
@@spiffersthegrand thats a good point. Definitely makes it harder to feel like you ‘know’ each singer, and they can’t give each singer a little show off featured moment every song like the smaller groups can.
Voctave also doesn't do as much post-production to add layering or make the voices sound more super human (like with Geoff's subharmonics). It makes their music much more subtle, and they also lack any "sensational" moments.
I don't have a problem with post-production, but it's frustrating to have people think that "good" singing groups should have that kind of sound quality or balance naturally.
For me, the variety of vocal textures in the larger groups, like Voctave, actually sound fuller and I'm always impressed by the dynamic changes they achieve.

Oh my god, Ella is absolutely adorable. The way that she was just trying to climb in your lap even though labs aren't lap dogs made me melt from how cute it was. I've been a watcher/lurker for about a month and a half now and I already have loved practically every video that you put out. Keep up the great work, Mortius.

now that you say that, I can recall that both Omar and EJ have that crystal clear voice I haven't heard for a while since Alison Krauss.
For some reason, this didn't really catch my attention the first time, either. But I've gone back to it a few times since, and each time it sounds better and better. Maybe you just have to be in the right brain space,

Love this. I have to say EJ is freaking AMAZING.. the first time I heard it the BASS on the "HEROS WELCOME" I was so shocked and excited I peed a little!

Omar’s brother does a great job in this. I’d like to see them both singing with Voiceplay at the same time, but maybe their voices are too similar.
Their voices are similar and that’s what would make it so amazing. Literally nothing beats a sibling harmony.
Mortius, you should check out Aurora. This particular performance is stripped a cappella live performance of one of her most beautiful, tear-jerking songs. So near the end at 16:44-16:45 I'm having difficulty telling if that's J-none and Eli or J-none and Geoff together there if it's Geoff he just throws out a high note like it's nothing if it's Eli par for the course but still wow.

Okay, tried the eyebrow mover, and i think it may be because the muscle group that pulls the sides of the mouth also pulls the corners of the eyebrows unless you have a LOT of control

One thing I don't really get about voiceplay, they have all these guest artists on but they don't really treat them like a guest soloists, but just another part. If you have a guest, I want to hear what they can really do.

Tony is beautiful. Great smile and intense eyes. Glad you are better. Adam Chance of Home Free just came back from a mild case of Covid-19 and missed some shows. Tim tested + and missed their last Canadian show. Prayers for a speedy recovery. While Chance can sing bass. It's just not the same without Tim like it would suck if Geoff was sick and not able to perform live. 😢
