Geoff said recently that Ej and Omar need to be heard live as the sheer power of their voices just isn't obvious through a screen. He thinks that's the reason that Omar didn't win The Voice. The home audience didn't get the same voice that the studio audience heard. VoicePlay don;t do "bad" :)
We need Voiceplay to have both Omar and E.J. on the same video together. That would be epic and both Geoff and Layne have the talent to pick and arrange the perfect song
Geoff is just not something you can prepare for, even when you know its coming! You can watch his hands, know when he's going for the note, and it still shakes your guts XD loved it DJ!
Maybe it´s about time for our DJ to go down the Voctave rabbit hole. Then he can have the power of EJ Cordona constantly, with a certain soprano that will knock his socks off and the a capella group who are according to Mortius masters of build up and transition as a bonus.
If you're an EJ Cardona fan, check out Voctave's Disney Heroes and Villains cover. E.J. is fabulous in that. Where E.J. really shines, though is in Voctave's cover "Oh Come All Ye Faithful". Check that out at Christmas. Voctave and E. J. just slay that song.
Shortly after this video, it was announced that J.None was leaving the group for the army. I watched this video again and when J was singing alone, I burst into tears 😢
I am so glad that you let the ending play without pausing because it is nothing short of majestic! Easily one of their most complex arrangements. The shifting chords at the very end are so powerful ❤
I would love to see you start reacting to Voctave, starting with Disney Princess Medley (featuring all the ladies as soloists), Disney Heroes and Villains (featuring all the men as soloists), and Mary, Did You Know (featuring Mark Lowry, who wrote the lyrics to the song).
Voctave just dropped a cover of Somewhere from West Side Story that is absolutely stunning. Also if DJ wants to here EJ flex his vocal awesomeness he really needs to see Voctave's O Come Emmanuel and more recently Disney Heroes and Villains.
Great reaction ❤ I absolutely love what VoicePlay did with this song, it really feels like we are going on a journey I have to agree with you: Geoff humming is gorgeous 🥰
I am always astounded by how beautifully this was done when I remember to watch it. It’s an oldie and I forget about it. I had never seen the movie and I did go out and watch it just because of the cover. When you watch it again, and I know you will, watch the closed captioning at that spot where Geoff surprised you. His line is in all caps becaus, you know, he’s got that big voice🤣. I don’t know if you know this but EJ, his wife Lindsay and Cesar make up the core of a couple of groups that are represented by Hawkmoon Creative and they perform at Epcot quite often. I thought you would enjoy this video because it shows EJ as more of a rocker and you’ve only seen him doing heartfelt pieces. This is recorded with a cell phone so the quality is not great, but it’s really enjoyable to see them in a totally different way. The blonde woman is EJ’s wife Lindsay who is also one of the members of the American Sirens. They collaborated with Geoff in his cover of Mele Kalikimaka. Enjoy. ruclips.net/video/vyNFx7P0ays/видео.htmlsi=fdrzCv8GCMQqgrZ3
Great reaction, so fun to catch the premiere and chat with y'all. EJ is a beautiful singer, Voctave is so lucky to have him. This song makes me remember how much I miss J.None. Also, I'd never seen the video with captions on before, and I had to laugh at the all-caps Geoff notes and smiley face. Geoff adds the captions, and we all know he's a goofball at heart.
Completely agree. EJ is just one part of Voctave but what a part, right? In a few months we'll be in the heart of holiday time, which would be an excellent time to make an exploratory journey thru the Voctave repertoire, I'd say!
I wonder if there are any videos out there with EJ and Omar singing together. Those Cardona boys can really sing! I, once again enjoyed watching you get destroyed.
This is one of 2 songs that perfectly represent Voiceplay. With the way they have grown and improved over the years they certainly are going the distance. The other being A Million Dreams. With all the talent and passion they put into their music and videos they certainly have a million dreams and we are blessed they share them with us.
Yes! Another amazing a capella group to get addicted to. They do a Disney Princess medley and a Heroes and Villains medley that will melt your brain and heart. EJ is especially amazing in Heroes/Villains. Their Prince of Egypt medley is another one to check out.
In the early days of Disney Cruise Line, one of their stage shows was Hercules and it was fantastic! I already loved the soundtrack so that ended up being my favorite of the DCL productions. Fun fact: Jennifer Hudson was one of the muses in the shipboard production before her famous days. 😊
This piece is just wonderful, I love, love, love that last section with Eli, EJ, and J singing counter melodies. I always keep the closed captions on. Geoff doesn't always throw humor in, but frequently has very descriptive captions, as he did in Ain't No Sunshine.
You were properly broken during this one DJ! You lost your words for a moment (probably because you'd been singing in your head so much that you forgot that sound has to come out the mouth...😂) I love this song, it is so underrated, and I'm so so glad you loved it. Your reaction put a smile on my face, as always...💗 #DJAntlers
this is one of my favorite non-hunchback disney songs, and thus is one of my favorite voiceplay songs and is on regular rotation. they did such a great job with it, especially that finish!
Really enjoyed your reaction. As much as I love their theatrical videos this and The Bones and Mr Blue Sky are among my favorites to watch and listen to over and over for pure musicality.
Still one of my favorite Voiceplay videos of all time. They have done crazy amazing things since, but this is still my number one. This is the version that plays in my mind when I think of it.
Geoff does most of the captions because of his wife Kathy, he likes to sometimes add jokes, I think there's a comment in oogie boogie about the santa cause it's his brother in law lol
Would it be a massive emotional overload for our dear DJ if I suggested a two for one video of Can't Help Falling In Love and Bridge Over Troubled Water? Because sweet DJ for those you'll need Kleenex for days. Not even Backstreet Boys (which been a fan since 1996!) or Power Rangers will stop the emotions from those two together.
IF you haven't done it, "The Hercules Medley" by Michael Kore is FANTASTIC. It's the only video I can find with the group put together in it that I can find, otherwise I'd consume it with the same fervor I do Voiceplay). It's not acapella... but My God is it ever worth watching regardless.
There you go. Good choice. I don't think E.J. fits in quite as well with VoicePlay as his brother does. And besides, he already has a steady job with Voctave. But he's very good, and this vid is very good.
Disney's Hercules is not one of my favorites. I'm a Greek Mythology buff, and it really bugged me that they had Hercules chilling with Pegasus (That was Perseus!) and the villain should have been Hera, not Hades. But this song is really good, and you made me appreciate the Voiceplay version even more! And I did love how they copied Hades's blue burning hair on the guy from Ally McBeal in "Once Upon A Time."

He is 100%correct. They both have so much power, especially on those high notes.
You will LOVE Voctave's Heroes and Villains medley. You will not be prepared for EJ in that one. But you will LOVE it.
Geoff is just not something you can prepare for, even when you know its coming! You can watch his hands, know when he's going for the note, and it still shakes your guts XD loved it DJ!

YES! Heroes and Villians
@@rosiewoodhouse5503 I also love the Disney Princess Medley featuring the ladies of Voctave.
Voctave's O Come All Ye Faithful is an incredible showcase for EJ!
Shortly after this video, it was announced that J.None was leaving the group for the army. I watched this video again and when J was singing alone, I burst into tears 😢
If you haven't reacted to Voctave doing O Come All Ye Faithful with EJ as the soloist, you "ain't" heard crescendo yet. 😊
I was thinking the same thing!
Absolutely! Also if he was holding his breath waiting for EJ to finish his line, he'd probably pass out by the end of that one!
Yep, agree! But also in their Disney Heroes and Villains Medley! 😊
I am so glad that you let the ending play without pausing because it is nothing short of majestic! Easily one of their most complex arrangements. The shifting chords at the very end are so powerful ❤
Now DJ needs to listen to Voctave's Heroes and Villains Medley! EJ is fantastic there. No more info to avoid spoilers but its a MUST
This ☝️
My favorite Hercules movie song
Voiceplay is hitting all the notes.....I don't think they left anything off at all. Beautiful.
THIS!!!!!
Don’t forget Disney Love Medley! That one is STUNNING! Of course everything Voctave does is! ❤
Would love to see your reaction to all those!!!
Voctave just dropped a cover of Somewhere from West Side Story that is absolutely stunning. Also if DJ wants to here EJ flex his vocal awesomeness he really needs to see Voctave's O Come Emmanuel and more recently Disney Heroes and Villains.

This cover HITS SO HARD. Still one of my favorite Voiceplay arrangements

Amazing as always can’t wait for you to start the Voctave journey
I have seen EJ and a lot of the members Voctave sing live with Voices of Liberty at Epcot. He is just as amazing live. 😊
I wonder if there are any videos out there with EJ and Omar singing together. Those Cardona boys can really sing! I, once again enjoyed watching you get destroyed.

Have you reacted to the group that EJ is in, Voctave? With five women and six men, they produce incredible harmonies.
Yes! Another amazing a capella group to get addicted to. They do a Disney Princess medley and a Heroes and Villains medley that will melt your brain and heart. EJ is especially amazing in Heroes/Villains. Their Prince of Egypt medley is another one to check out.

I missed this one! I need a Voiceplay and Voctave collab so bad now!
this is one of my favorite non-hunchback disney songs, and thus is one of my favorite voiceplay songs and is on regular rotation. they did such a great job with it, especially that finish!
so inspirational-this one doesn’t get enough love ❤🏴
You went the distance without pausing ... I'll see myself out.
This is one of my favorites they have done.
VoicePlay magic!
Thanks 😊
Really enjoyed your reaction. As much as I love their theatrical videos this and The Bones and Mr Blue Sky are among my favorites to watch and listen to over and over for pure musicality.
Mr. Blue Sky! I had forgotten about that one. It was so good!
@@therealEmpyre I forgot The Wicked Medley and Bang
Still one of my favorite Voiceplay videos of all time. They have done crazy amazing things since, but this is still my number one. This is the version that plays in my mind when I think of it.

This song for the start of the marathon and Barry Manilow, Looks like we made it for the end of the race.
There is a stage adaptation of Hercules! Not quite at Broadway yet but it ran for a while (I think in New Jersey?) earier this year.
So glad you finally got to react to this one. I was so sure you were about to cry at the end there

Such a fantastical video, the guys are wonderful. EJ has a beautiful vibrato in this song.
Love how much you loved this! Such an amazing song.
This is the one that convinced me to join their Patreon!! Simply Amazing!
Love the reaction. Thank you for my smile today!
As always entertaining and insightful. You are a 0leasure to watch
Loved this one 😂😂 I knew you'd love it 💜🦌
Superb reaction!!!
WOW!!! This was very well done & it brought me to tears...awesomeness just awesomeness!!! ❤
Loved the reaction, glad you liked this cover so much, it's wonderful!

You are by far one of my favorite nuclear reactors. 😁😍☢
There you go. Good choice.

You know what's funny? I actually just covered this song on my channel :)
❤
This is inspired. But then, Voiceplay does 'inspired' all the time.
So, how many people want to see them do a collab with Omar and EJ together? [Raises hand...]
Full angelic choir they’re just not showing their 🪽 .🫠
Terrific reaction!
