This video is a good showcase for the men's voices in Voctave. If you want to be even more obliterated by the women's voices, you might try their Disney Princess Medley video. Their variety of voices and their ability to build a seamless soundscape is unmatched.

And for the bass I'd recommend you're a mean one, mr Grinch.

As others have said, Disney Princess Medley is a Voctave “must”. Disney Love Medley is their most popular and was their first as “Voctave” (named by one of the two featured soloists on that one Jeremy Michael Lewis- the other featured soloist has a bit more cache- Kirstin from PTX). Their medleys are great- Prince of Egypt medley (but no music video- just an audio) being an INSANE composition. All music composed by Jamey Ray who was the soloist here on Under the Sea. But other great standalone songs: Over the Rainbow, Moon River, Someday, You Will Be Found, Someone Like You and Poor Unfortunate Souls/I Put A Spell On You. And just WAIT til Christmas. Oy! Welcome to the wonderful world of Voctave. Oh, and as an aside, you have seen EJ, the soloist on I Just Can’t Wait To Be King, as the featured member on Voiceplay’s Go the Distance. Happy Voctaving!!

The first soloist, Jamey Ray arranges all of their music, he's a genius, let me tell you, I always try to pinpoint the chord progressions he throws in and end up with flat7th, IV# VI and ninth chords (their arrangement of Moonriver got plenty of these). Btw I think Kate, coloratura soprano, was phrasing in harmony with EJ, high tenor, so yep Bb5 A5 C6.

Voctave is another awesome a Capella group. They did a Disney Love Medley with guest artist Kirstin Maldonado of Pentatonix (and her then fiancé, they've since parted ways). I'm sure you'll really enjoy it as well, particular a couple of standout performances by a couple of the Vocative members. Great reaction Mortius, as usual. Great fun!

So happy you've finally found Voctave! They truly are an obsession. And let me tell you, when things get to where they are doing live concerts again, you absolutely have to go to one. They are even better in person. Besides the songs I've already seen mentioned in the comments, they have amazing Christmas music as well, so when the time comes for that you should definitely listen. Especially to "O Come All Ye Faithful" featuring EJ Cardona (the Lion King soloist here). He will knock your socks off for sure!

Can't wait for more Voctave reactions! Next must be the Princess Medley, then everything else they have done, little by little. The first soloist here, Jamie Ray, is their arranger extraordinaire.

I think you might find their Disney Princess medley even more fun to listen to ... you get each female singer doing a solo and the backing is fabulous. The Disney song with Kirsten Maldonaldo (Pentatonix), and her then fiance, was also great. Also, Come All Ye Faithful is impressive with EJ Cardona soloing.

Jamey Ray is a genius writer and arranger… he is also the first tenor solo in this recording… your next venture with them should be either Disney Love Medley or Disney Princess Medley.

I love acapella having done the whole choir thing myself. Voctave is actually my favorite because their harmonies along with Kate's soprano notes are magical. Looking forward to seeing more reactions of this group from you :)

Some pieces have 11 different parts -- Jamey Ray (the first soloist) is the group's founder and arranges ALL of Voctave's pieces and writes parts specifically for EACH ACTUAL SINGER rather than for a typical SATB. He has everything from a stratospheric coloratura to a basso profondo available to him. You might find it interesting to know that Voctave generally does minimal rehearsal before they record ... just a run-through and away they go! Kate Lott is the coloratura and her highest note featured in their recordings is G6.

EJ Cardona, the soloist for Can't Wait to be King, also was featured in VoicePlay's Go the Distance, one of their most underrated Disney covers. Also speaking of VoicePlay, if you love transitions, you HAVE to check out their ACA Top 10 series. Nine flawless transitions in each

Jamie Ray is the tenor standing by the sopranos. He arranged the majority of Voctave's music. In my opinion he is an overlooked musical genius. Kate Lott is the soprano you heard singing in the stratosphere. She is the queen of the sixth octave. You will love their Christmas material.😀🎶🎵

Loved your reaction this. Voctave is definitely a wall of sound and all are ridiculously talented. Jamey Ray is a wonderful arranger and writes directly for each of the members in Voctave. There is an interview on You Tube where he gives some background of how he and voctave got started!

The transitions in "Disney Princess Medley", "Great Movie Medley" and "Prince of Egypt Medley" may cause you to lose control. Just sayin' And what has been said about their Christmas repertoire is absolutely correct - it will leave you speechless.

The high soprano notes are made by the second lady from the right, her name is Kate Lott.
The three women to the left are altos and the two women by the right are sopranos.
Your next Voctave video should be Disney Princess medley, which obviously will feature the women more - ruclips.net/video/aBCukAJwKN0/видео.html&ab_channel=Voctave

I absolutely love Pentatonix and Home Free and VoicePlay and all those groups but just in my personal opinion, if you want incredible Acapella, you can't get any better than Voctave. Jamey's arrangements are absolutely superb and all of the members have the most incredible voices I think I've ever heard. That soprano you heard is Kate Lott, she's the shorter of the two blond haired soprano's wearing the black polka dotted top and the notes that she hit in this arrangement of songs is actually nothing compared to some of the notes that she can and does hit in some of their other songs. She's incredible. Of course they're all incredible but she's something else with some of the notes that she can sing and still sound as clear as a bell, I personally have never heard another soprano like her, I'm sure there are some I've just never heard but she's definitely something special. I hope you will do reactions to more of their songs soon, I loved watching this one and have subscribed to your channel. I don't know if you take suggestions or just choose yourself what you'd like to react to but just in case, a few of my favorites of theirs would have to be "Someday", "You Will Be Found", "Christmas Waltz Medley/Once Upon a December", "Carol of the Bells of Notre Dame", and their very popular "Disney Princess Medley", "Disney Love Medley" which features Kirstin from PTX, and "Great Movie Medley". I didn't really intend to list that many lol, but really with Voctave, there are no bad choices, whatever you decided to choose to listen to by them would be incredible, they never disappoint! Great reaction, looking forward to the next one!

Actually, surprisingly in Voiceplay, usually when Geoff takes the lead Eli takes over the bass line.

  • @joshualajoie9547
    @joshualajoie9547 11 месяцев назад

In regards to voiceplay, they avoid using layering. Their bald "tenor" Eli is a true Baritone with a high tenor register. When Jeff takes a lead line, Eli covers the bass line. Similar to how Homefree has Chase to cover bass when Tim Foust takes a lead.
