The technique, the execution, these guys deserve so much love and attention and I hope to see them blow up even more some day soon because they are just incredible. Kate Lott is the coloratura on the far left ... obviously classically trained and massively talented. Jamey Ray (the second man from the left) is the founder of the group and the arranger of ALL of their songs. Almost all of the members of the group are current or former members of The Liberty Voices at Epcot / Disney World -- their obvious joy when singing and the style of music they tend to do goes right along with the wholesome, exuberant Disney brand image.
Don't even think about not reacting to more Voctave.
Do more Voctave! The princess medley and the love medley are outstanding. Also i’d love to see you react to some barbershop. A good place to start is the Notre Dame Medley by The Ringmasters.

Yes! There can never be too much Voctave! The Prince of Egypt medley is amazing, Someday and You will be found are two songs that with the way of the world right now carry so much more meaning and both are just a joy to listen to!
I just wanted to say (a) thanks for the reviews in general, it's really good to see the take of someone who knows how arrangements work, and (b) thanks for the Voctave reviews in particular. They are just so good, and I suspect they don't get the views because they don't go to the pop end of the spectrum like most of the other a capella groups. As well as the ones you have ear-marked, I recommend the DIsney Princess Medley (showing off all the women) and Mary Did You Know, which I think is an incredibly powerful arrangement. The latter has Mark Lowry as lead; he knows the song well having written the lyrics :-)

This is what I came here to say! Jamey is an absolutely brilliant acapella arranger, and he obviously knows his group and singers so well. He does all of their arrangements. Can't wait to see more reactions to Voctave!

I have mentioned several times in the comments section of reactors that I understand the concern about views. I get it. To me, it’s criminal that Voctave does not have the subscriptions/fan base that Home Free, Voiceplay and PTX has. I even theoretically understand why. The vocal percussionists are a huge draw. But for me, the talent level here is insane- from arrangement to vocal performance to production. I’d love to see more, but I get it if not. Thanks!

Kate Lott the high soprano is amazing but Tiffany Colburn is a great soprano in her own right. She does a lot of solos for the group. Listen to their O Holy Night to witness her talent at her high end.

Definitely more Voctave. They may not be as young or mainstream ideal as some other groups, but the sheer technical aspects of their arrangements is something the other groups can maybe take notice of.

Around 10:27, a couple of beats before Ashley jumps to a higher key, the sopranos foreshadow the key change.
Wow, i didn't even notice that from the sopranos for many years.
The high notes at 3:41 where you said "that was really unique" - I wonder if they were trying to sound like some kind of seabird, which would fit the setting in the movie at that time. Also, the key change near the end is in the movie version as well.

Definitely do more Voctave. They are hands down the best a cappella group out there. But unlike PTX, Home Free & the rest, this is NOT these peoples main job, this is a side gig for all of them. They are all professional musicians, most with an advanced degree in music, and all have been or are currently employed at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Most sing at EPCOT, with the Voices of Liberty at the American Pavilion, and some have done Barbershop with the Dapper Dans on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom at WDW. Their arranger, Jamie Ray, btw, is a music professor at Rollins College on the NE side of Orlando. He has arranged stuff for Broadway and other big artists and is IMHO one of the greatest arrangers out there. Voctave is really his baby and the group was originally brought together to record and showcases his arrangements.
It’s fun seeing your reaction from the standpoint that you have arranged and done barbershop. You will never be disappointed with any of their songs, and why they don’t have a bigger fan base is beyond me but anyone who discovers them immediately becomes a huge fan. Just react to all of their songs, or will give you a lot of content while bringing a lot of VOCTAVE loyal fans to your channel. React to their Disney Love Medley fet. Kirstin from PTX. It’s received over 30million viewers and probably the reason so many follow them. Their Disney Princess Medley is classic with each of the 5 ladies taking lead in a different song and being a Disney princess. Plus they have a host of Christmas songs like Mary Did You Know fet. Mark Lowry who wrote the lyrics to that song, O Come All Ye Faithful that had a wicked tenor solo by EJ, O Holy Night with Tiffany belting out the solo, etc. Pick any of their songs and you won’t be disappointed.
As a tenor, you would really love Someone Like You sung by Jody McBrayer with Voctave. Breathtaking. Seriously.

You mentioned not getting many views for the Voctave videos; it's too bad they don't have name recognition. I think doing the Disney Love Medley next might increase views. In addition to being their most popular video (by page views), it also features Kirstin Maldonado from Pentatonix. If you list her name in the title (along wtih Jeremy Michael Lewis, the other guest soloist), it might bring in some Pentatonix fans.
It is worth watching this for M's reactions seen by his eyes, if nothing else.

I have watched you for a little bit and I'm guessing you are a music teacher so I have to ask, if you are working with youth acapella, would you consider doing a fast key change using the melody with your kids? If they are a competition chorale, I bet the judges would double take it as you did. You didnt say anything but there was also a couple points in the song where they hit the breaks on the tempo then slowly regained speed. That is mind blowing to me. Personally, I would recomend getting the sheet music for this arrangement (Voctave does release their sheet music sometimes) and see if your kids could do it. I would like to see more Voctave and more of your wife. The two of you are fun to watch together.

I like Homefree and Voiceplay but I feel Voctave more. It will always be Voctave for me. Unfortunately, they are not as prolific as the others. COVID has not helped them with the number of vocalists etc.

While I appreciate your reactions, please - adjust your audio balance! To be able to hear clearly the singer/group you are reacting to, I need to have the volume so high, it makes you very loud - maybe you don't realise how loud you are if you're wearing headphones?
