I live 75 minutes and 65 miles west of Cooperstown. I worked briefly at the Baseball HOF earlier this year and I loved it there. It was/is the quietest and most professional place I have ever worked at. It was so refreshing to work at a place like there because it had everything I look for from an employer. In addition, the HOF is actually about 50% bigger than what is open to the public. There is a full basement with offices, as well as their warehouse of products they have for sale and a mailroom with people who package orders from sales (including online orders). In the back corner of the 3rd floor has a TV that plays Abbott and Costello's "Who's on First" routine. There's so many different exhibits there and its size is so overwhelming and intimidating. Take your time and check out everything. It takes about 2-3 hours to walk the HOF if you look at everything. It costs $23/person and it well worth it; they also have lower prices for seniors and military are free. In addition to the Baseball HOF, Cooperstown, NY is known as the home of James Fenimore Cooper (JFC), one of America's first authors, along side Washington Irving. JFC's father was the one who actually formed/founded Cooperstown (Cooper's Town or the Town of Cooper). JFC is best known today for his Last of the Mohicans novel which is the second novel of his 5-book series called The Leather stocking Tales. On the outskirts of the village is the Fenimore Art Museum/Gallery. This was actually the mansion and estate JFC's father had built and is located right on the shore of Otsego Lake, one of NYS's Finger Lakes. JFC eventually returned later In life to live here. Across the street is the Farmers Museum, an 1840s working farming village. The farm itself was the Cooper's family farm back in the day. Everyone is dressed in the 1840s attire and the livestock and barnyard animals are of what they used back then. There's a blacksmith shop, a church, one-room school, doctors office, a printing press, and other buildings as part of the village. The drive around Otsego Lake is gorgeous and it has many inns and lodges to spend the night in. Doubleday Cafe, a short walk from the HOF is a nice place to eat at. Cooperstown, NY is a fantastic, quaint place to visit.
We went there with my son's baseball team back in '18. I NEED to get back but I also want to watch the video they show you before entering the Hall. It was so inspirational and moving. Anywhere we can watch this online?
I grew up an Atlanta Braves fan, when Dale Murphy was our big player (7x All Star, 2x NL MVP). I used to listen to the Braves games on the radio with my grandparents whenever I visited them in Georgia and actually got to see Hank Aaron hit a home run when he came to play in San Diego (not sure exactly when, but sometime in '72 or '73 most likely). Really enjoyed seeing you tour the HoF in Cooperstown and hope to visit there myself some day. I did go to the football HoF induction ceremony in 2008 when Art Monk and Darrell Green got in, which was a great experience after being very involved in stumping for Monk for a couple of years. Thanks so much for sharing your journeys!
Last year when I was flying home from a trip, I sat next to one of the managers for the Cardinals and got to hold his 2011 Championship ring. It was massive. So cool.
I think when I go I might shed a few tears out of pure joy because I’ve been waiting for the day I get to go all my life. It will have taken me almost 18 years to finally get the chance to go and April is the time
Thanks Max for the tour of baseball fans' Disneyland, the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY! My favorite baseball team is...#letsgoOakland !!!!
So I have been to the Hall of Fame maybe three times, but I grew up in Cooperstown so it’s funny sometimes to go back and see the familiar surroundings
Wow - great tour. And the look on your face is how I feel watching it. I was there years ago in December, the town was decorated beautifully, snow was on the ground the lake was blue and it was stunning. The hall is really an elegant wonder, so magical. We walked onto the field, I think all that was allowed was just near home plate, I didn't see you on the field, don't they allow that anymore? So much want to go again -thanks for the taking me back!
Definitely a bucket list item for sure. I love baseball, especially my team, the Colorado Rockies. For the first time in a long time, I think we have a chance. We're looking good.
Better go now. They have a great section dedicated to the 2021 braves. And since Hank Aaron sadly passed away they have an area dedicated to him…I am pretty sure it’s all temporary though.
Gotta say, my favorite thing from the baseball hall of fame is also the only thing with non-baseball players in the hall of fame. I love that the who's on first routine is in the baseball hall of fame
Baseball is and will always be my favorite sport. Morals values and respect America the way its supposed to be. Like the military. Great video thanks. Sincerely 6 year army vet and red blooded American!!!
Love Cooperstown! Definitely want to go back! As a huge memorabilia fan its amazing to see everything! I agree with number 28 for the Yankees! I didn't realize they sign under their plaques. Thats awesome! Thanks for sharing! Go Yankees is right! Did you check out Double Day Field? There is so much to do up there!
I am a huge memorabilia collector as well. Have always wanted to visit this place. Hoping to go this July during the ceremonies. Anything that you bought there?
they said that about the iron Man record what is new York's mascot and I got cold chills as you walked three the actual hall would you ever take the football hall of fame tour favorite team is a rival of the Yankees and that is the Orioles
That is the only major HOF I have not been to yet. I will get there someday and will have similar reactions as you did Max! I'm a Twins fan. Win for the Minnesota Twins today!
Hey, just uploaded our trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame. My son and I are enjoying videos from other visitors. Nice commentary and presentation. We live in Yankees territory, but remain Cubs fans. :)
I have never been but it's definitely one of the places I would love to go! Being from south Florida my favorite baseball team is the Miami Marlins but I love me some Boston Red Sox too!! I'm thinking about flying to Boston on July 16th to see them play the Yankees in a double header game!!! We will see but for now we might be able to make it!!! Loved the video Max!
Your face when you first step into the Hall of Fame... 😂😭😂😭😂😭 "They won the World Series last year and it was amazing!" Arizona Diamondbacks - My team!!! Represent!
I'm a lifelong Yankee fan from Central New Jersey and I've always wanted to go there. Especially now more than ever with Derek Jeter officially inducted. Hopefully I get to go there within the next year. I'm gonna make it a priority to go.
Question for you Max: Have you ever seen the movie A League of their Own? It's about the women in baseball. I love that movie. Also Lets Go Mets!!!!!!! 😉
SO desperate to get there - bummed that I couldn't make it last year to see Mike Piazza get inducted. Max, I think we're destined to be best friends - Disney & baseball are two of my greatest loves! Except now, after seeing this video, we're in a fight! Phanatic is the best mascot in baseball?!? DISAGREE! :):):)
This is on my bucket list for sure. Among some of my favorite home run calls... "Back, back, back...HEY! HEY!"...Jack Brickhouse "It looks like, it could be, it IS!!!"... Harry Caray "That ball is outta here!"...Harry Kalas "It's LOOOOONG GONE!!!"...Ernie Harwell "That ball will fly away. My oh my!"...Dave Niehaus "Goodbye Home Run"...Gary Thorne "Get up! Get outta here!"...Bob Uecker "You can put it on the boooooaaaaarrrrd...YESSSSS!!!!!"...Ken "Hawk" Harrelson ...and, being a Yankees fan, I have to include of these... "Holy Cow!"...Phil Rizzuto "That ball is high, it is far, IT IS GONE!!!"...John Sterling "See ya!"... Michael Kay
You missed the ALL famous baseball ⚾️ uniform of all time #8 which of course belongs to the one and only “Babe Ruth”. How could you miss The Babe, only if there is something really very disturbed about you
It's you arrogant Yankee fans that make Mets fans more devote. Lol! Thanks for giving Pete a brief sigh of mention. Thurman Munson is the only player I ever shared the same respect for as to the way he played the game. Well, maybe Carlton Fisk too. No one may ever be able to break Joltin' Joe's record but Pete at least tied Were Will Walker's National League record at forty one. Do you think any player will reach over 4k hits again? BTW, I was there many moons ago. Roberto Clemente's section still stands out more than most to me. Is it still there?
Nice video. I just visited yesterday and it's my most recent video. Could you maybe check out if you are willing to just give a very very small youtube some feedback.
Pete Rose was one of the greatest hitters of all time. Using Steroids which is technally cheating is worse then betting on sports. No reason Rose shouldnt be in the HOF or his record taken away.
MrQuackersTheThi Pete Rose should be in the hall of fame. Pudge and Jeff Bagwell are both getting in with steroid accusations. Both were considered to be long shots because of that. If they get in, then there's no excuse as to why Bonds sits out
Did a solo trip here one day cause I had nothing better to do. Ended up spending 5 hours in there. Love it

Been there twice as my Dad and I loved baseball. Go Phillies!
This place is so interesting i need to go someday
actual goals!! thank you for sharing your experience with us
Jasmine Torres you're so welcome!!!
Mr. Met is the best mascot. The Phillies's Mascot (and most mascot) is a bad sport by bulling the other team. Mr Met never bullies the other team.
Can't wait to go there one day to see all the A's stuff 🙌🙌🙌
I have been to the baseball hall of fame last August my favorite team is the Atlanta Braves
Definitely a bucket list item for sure. I love baseball, especially my team, the Colorado Rockies. For the first time in a long time, I think we have a chance. We're looking good.

Ha! I'm (pleasantly) surprised you don't think the Yankees mascot is the best. Though, in fairness, he's not 'current'.
I've been there
Tons of racist in that HOF but no steroid users are allowed?!? Baseball has no moral compass.

Pete Rose doesn't deserve that record and beside Suzuki Ichiro beat that record last season.
Why doesn't Pete Rose deserve to have the most hits in MLB history? That's an absurd statement.
If Pete Rose doesn't deserve that record, Bonds doesn't deserve the HR Record. Pete Rose never bet on his team or himself.
MrQuackersTheThi Barry Bonds is one of the greatest hitters ever. Steroids does not take that away from him.
