That part I don't mind at all: shoveling snow is a great way to start my day! Especially when it is sunny! Did not have much snow 2021/2022, let's see how next winter plays out
Milwaukee is great! Great city. Weather isn't too bad. I wish summer was longer and winter was shorter, but all the ethnic festivals and parties. Summerfest, State fair, great restaurants and shows. Sports. It's all you need. Chicago is only 1.5 hr. Drive so. 😎🤷♂️ I love it, it's perfect.
20:35 Wisconsin is one of the best places in the country for cross country skiing. There’s a big community and many events around that’s activity/sport here, even in Milwaukee. There’s also still hiking/snow shoeing. For anyone who runs cold, insulated pants make a huge difference.
Yes totally agree! Anything outdoorsy in September and October is great! That's what we get in exchange for our March/April "it should be spring, but its still cold WTH" weather I guess :-)
Looking to move to Milwaukee or Minneapolis from San Antonio. This past Christmas was about 78°F down here. We spent the whole day with the Air Conditioners on.
Winter here is not what it used to be, I should make a new video. We did not have snow until January and outside of the one yet stream event we have been in the 40s. Green Bay is getting more snow that we do, thats about 2 hours north, but it makes a differnce. I start to wonder what the summer will be like this year in the south..
Love my hometown and I prefer the cold. But the only thing that I hate about the winter back home is how ABSURDLY QUIET IT IS OUTSIDE. Winter is deathly quiet most of the time, unless you live in the city in which case it just makes the sound of bus air brakes louder lol.
Glad it helped! I find that a lot of our relocation clients are overestimating the amount of snow and sub zero temps (we don't have THAT much snow and if it gets very cold, its usually only a few days), but the cold season is just long and it takes a while for spring to arrive often not before May!
I use to love winter in Milwaukee when I was young. Now don't misunderstand me. I love the cool temperatures of late fall and early winter. But yes when it is early March and it's still below freezing and the national news is talking about spring in the south but Milwaukee is still frozen stiff. Agg!
Yes, me too! I do not mind winter at all, Xmas is great and I am fine with snow and cold for a couple months, but in March I am tired of it and we usually take a week in Mexico to get some sun, before the spring market kicks in! When summer FINALLY arrives I am just as excited as everyone else!
The winters suck, though they aren’t as bad as they can get in places like the UP, upper Minnesota, and some places in New England. And the summers… man, it’s really hard to beat the sheer beauty of wisconsin summer. It’s the most lush emerald forest, filled with life and color
In Texas is the opposite, we have to wait out the summer before we can go out and enjoy ourselves in the afternoons. The Heat lasts from sometime in June through sometimes till the end of October. Excellent video. Very informative.
@@MarcusMKE We live near Austin and grew up near Houston. It was our first time seeing Amarillo and while there it snowed. Us and our kids were BEYOND excited!! It was mine and the kids first times seeing snow. We went there to hike Palo duro which is known as the " Grand Canyon of Texas and second largest canyon in us" Grand Canyon is the first.
Please explain: why is winter the best season for you? I think a lot of people reading the comments would like to hear your reasons! And thanks for the thumbs up ;-)
Well my opinion on why I love winter , is because everything is white, yeah it’s cold but it beautiful it’s a lot of fun thing to do with the family an yours friends, an on Christmas the houses be decorated an with the snow it’s just make the lights on your house that much better, I hope I did good job answering the question! An as you can tell it’s getting cold now some of us believe it’s go be a cold one this year it seem like the snow will come early I live here my whole life like 32 years long lol an I love it everyday!
@@staylowtinostaylowtino9796 thank you for explaining! I don't "love" winter, but I try to make the best out of it. Definitely loving fresh snow and blue sky! The worst part for me in March, when I am ready for spring and want to see some green grass and trees
@@MarcusMKE spring is beautiful an summer! You right about that! I’m glad you make these good videos because when I go out of town they act like it’s mountain ⛰ dirt roads lol keep this up so the world it’s great here!!
Great breakdown of life in the Milwaukee winter, Marcus. Mindset is important for winters here. You cover it all here - buy warm gear, invest in a snowblower if you can (you got a great deal on the one in your vid!), find something enjoyable to do indoors or outdoors in the winter. Taking a beach vacation in mid-late February to recharge helps a lot too 👍 😃
Attitude is everything! You are exactly right - there is no reason to freeze, just get the right gear! Good shoes for example are very important! And yes, late winter is the perfect time to travel to a beach, it is so nice here in summer - I'd rather be here!
Thank you so much for this wonderful video! You have helped ease my fears of moving there! I am planning on moving there soon, and I am from Los Angeles, CA! And by the way, welcome to U.S.A. from Austria! I wish I could go to Austria, or I definitely should have gone before Covid. I am learning now to take opportunities that I have wished for to do what I really love while I have them. Thanks again for this awesome video! :)
The coldest winter days were always very sunny and you could bet the Milwaukee legend Dick Bacon RIP would be down by the lake front in his speedo surrounded by sun reflectors.
Great video, thank you! Came across this video as we might be moving to Milwaukee! Plus my maiden name is Auerbach so I had to comment! My granddad was from Austria but moved to Ireland, where I’m from but other than no idea about family there or if it’s a common name 😊
Hi Helen! OMG - I had no idea there were some in Ireland. The name is not common in Austria, in fact I don't know anyone else there outside my family. My grandpa was adopted, but his Burgstaller family crest from the 1600s (which I have here in Milwaukee, the original).. Anyway - very nice to meet you!! Just call me if I can help with anything on Milwaukee!
Great info. I will be in Watertown for 2 months contract work soon, trying to get some idea how's it looks like in the winter over there. I'm nervous about the weather and stuff. Just wondering if they have Uber, Lyft or Cab to get around. I would not dare to try to drive in the snow lol
Hi Rojak, it does not happen often that we actually have snow on the roads, most of the time they are just dry. And even if it snows, they are plowing them very quickly. If you really catch a big snow day, call an Uber, we have plenty!
Just hibernate like a polar bear and adopt a penguin. You'll be fine. If you have the money, spend a few weeks each winter in the Caribbean but leave the penguin at home. They don't do well in the heat.
Probably not, even though winter are not what they used to be with snow and all that, but you will definitely enjoy the summer here! Let me know when you get here!
I love the market stats but I would suggest that it might also be fun to do some property tours. There are some beautiful homes in Milwaukee that are works of art. It would also be interesting to see some video tours on investment properties with the expected rents and operating costs.
Thanks for the suggestion Bob! We do that on private live calls with out of state buyers. I see some really cool properties, but owners often don't want the interior on display on the internet beyond the sale of the home and I am definitely respectful of that!
I really tried to NOT sugarcoat the winter! Good thing is you can put on an extra layer, you never have to freeze if you dress right. In return, our summers are mostly 70s and 80s...
@@MarcusMKE lifelong Milwaukee resident here. Winter isn't that bad. Just long and drawn out. We haven't had a snowstorm with more than six inches in like 10 years. When I was a kid in the '80's, we used to have snowstorms of a foot plus several times a winter. Not a global warming advocate, but it isn't like it used to be. I'd rather have a serious winter than just dreary snow, rain and ice from November through March. Minneapolis still gets what I remember 30 years ago though. Can't beat summers in Milwaukee though. Probably the best on the planet.
@@scottfeuerhammer3595 same - in March I am tired of it; that's when we usually travel a bit to catch a break and get some sun on the skin! But I think the cool half of the year is also a reason why businesses are successful here, I noticed that in corporate, productivity was always very high in the cooler time of the year...
As a midwesterner having a long seasonal winter is worth it for the other distinct seasons we get of spring, summer and fall and having a winter is better than having the following: Droughts Mudslides Volcanic eruptions Floods Wildfires Tornadoes Earthquakes Sinkholes Hurricanes Sandstorms Constant humidity Those things listed that other states get that have milder/no winters, yeah winter isn't pleasant but if you are well prepared and have the right gear and live in an area that well adapts to winter and offers stuff to do in the winter this way you aren't bored to death.
Thats why i want to move. My house has at least 2 scares a year cause of a raging fire and all the plants are dead. Still have to deal with snow for at least 3 months. CA just needs to be sent into the ocean.
@CaptainPaddys it felt wrong to give your comment a like, but a lot of people tell me the same. Thanks for watching and maybe some time in the future take a weekend to check out MKE!
@MarcusMKE I am dying to come visit, I just need time cause i would like to see the entire state including the U.P. currently my family is abusing my knowledge and skills to look at homes in Tennessee but i feel like the north is where i belong. Not a rich man but i like to work and from the people i have spoke with; would be a great spot for me to start a family. (Other than the 4 legged beasts i already have lol)
@@CaptainPaddys that is quite an area to cover, from MKE to the UP is about 4-6 hours, depending on how far you go, beatutiful up there! Macanaugh island and the bridge are a popular tourist spot
@@MarcusMKE The Winter seems as expected. I've never lived in snow so seeing you clear the driveway with the snow blower was pretty useful. Seeing the Height of the snow pack around the city helped as well. Houses in California don't usually have basements so knowing that Homes in Milwaukee do Would be awesome to remodel for the Winters. I will definitely consider moving there for the future
Your vid was very helpfull! Im moving from Puerto Rico to Milwakee for a job offer my mom got, I dont mind the cold I actually love snow ( I was massachusets in winter before ) (srr if I spelled wrong massachusets-) We know nothing from Wisconsin or milwakee, and seeing your vids will help me prepare my family for when we move there. I was worried about being outsiders in milwakee but I saw a vid of a guy saying that milwakee is very diverse and has a fair amount of latinos (That was such a relief for me TvT ) And that ppl in milwakee is very nice and friendly, thats another relief. Im very nervous to go somewhere unknown with my fam (we are going alone we have no family in wisconsin- :'] ) But yeah, your vid is very very helpfull!!!
Great to hear! A couple things I want to correct - unfortunately I don't think it is an accurate statement to say that "Milwaukee is very diverse"! You can look up the demographic data on niche . com or usa . com - every neighborhood is different. But people in Milwaukee are generally friendly, that is true. Maybe check out my Bayview video and the surrounding areas and see if that feels good, but generally you will find friendly people in every neighborhood!
Yes, but I would need to take a vacation to somewhere warm in February or March. Milwaukee is a nice city. I grew up in New England, know I could adjust to mid-west winters. I would probably prefer living in a condo to a house in that climate.
We usually go down to Mexico in March to catch some sun.. Condos are great, especially with heated indoor parking. I don't think that our winters are much different to New England, not as cold here as Minneapolis for example.
@@MarcusMKE I get that people get tired of winter, but everyone I know that moves ti Florida puts on 30 pounds because its too hot to exert yourself outdoors 6 months of the year. So, what's the difference, your going to get stuck inside for a chunk of the year any place but coastal cities in California.
@@markrichards6863 I'd rather be outside in 30F than 95F, because I can dress warm and be comfortable. We get a few very cold weeks in Jan or Feb with temps in the teens or less, that's why I have a treadmill 😆
@@MarcusMKE I agree completely, plus I love my water clothes, sweaters, warm coats, gloves, hats. I love NYC in the snow. It's always a transformational event.
This is confusing - the further north you live the shorter the days in winter, and longer in the summer! End of June we have daylight until almost 10pm - we get about 15.5 hours of daylight in the summer. You can check this out for your location at timeanddate.com
It is for this reason that when I move up there I will be looking out for apartments that have some kind of covered parking. Ha. Do you also help in searching for apartments? The reason I'm asking is that I am currently working for a company as a contractor remotely, but at the beginning of the year if they extend a job offer, I will either be moving to their Waukesha office or their Tampa, FL office. I've heard that apartment hunters can frequently get good discounts when moving in less popular seasons such as Winter. Is that your experience in Milwaukee?
Hi Brad, a garage is definitely a good idea. A lot of condos have heated indoor parking, which ensures that your car is warm and dry every morning and you don't have to shovel. I would not hold my breath with a discount during the winter months, getting a nice apartment can be competitive (We also own nice rental properties, so I see that side of the market)! A lot of relocation clients abandon that idea and just take an Airbnb to get started and relatively quickly buy a place - with a little guidance not that difficult and in the end less money per month. In Milwaukee agents normally don't get involved in leasing, but you can definitely pick my brain if you want!
Thanks LJ! Glad you got to enjoy the summer and fall - I just had someone move from TX a couple weeks ago and that's tough! But looks like spring is not that far out, saw 2 Harleys riding on I94 today!
@@MarcusMKE yeah I saw someone out on a small boat by the Port this morning when I was driving over the Hoan! Feeling alot like spring already. Just a suggestion for your channel.. do you follow new developments? I'd love to hear about the Couture, Ascent, or the development in the Harbor District from a real estate professional's perspective.
@@LJ-cp6qs Actually, it has been on my mind! In particular The Couture. And of course the Ascend, with high tech timber shipped from my good old Austria!
Check attic insulation when touring a home. I made this mistake and it led to ice damming, i found, in my poorly insulation attic Blown in insulation is a $2500-3000 expense. Had i known this, i would have working it into the buying price.
Hi Jimmy - it's easy to overlook, especially if it's just a scuttle hole in a closet you can't without a ladder. But even then, it should come up at the home inspection! Also what was considered enough in the 1960's is not what we like to see today! Adding blow in insulation to the attic is probably the quickest way to make your home feel more compfy and cut down on heating expenses. Also very important re ice damming - make sure your attic has enough ventilation so it can stay cold up there. Best is a good amount of soffit vents and the either a ridge vent or mushroom vents up on top. Sometimes the insulation guys just fill everything up and it blocks the soffit vents, then you are back at ice dams..
@@MarcusMKE Marcus, i just found this out. I had blown in insulation last summer and my soffit vents are full of "newpaper" shards lol. My ice daming was not bad, but this makes a lot of sense now.
@@jimmylegs06 awesome! The more you attic can ventilate the better. You want it cold in the winter so the snow does not melt and as cool as possible in the summer so you are not roasting your shingles! Reduces their life expectation!
I’m relocating to the Milwaukee area from Minneapolis. I will actually enjoy an upgrade to winter weather! And I can tell you that Milwaukee does an amazing job clearing snow compared to Minneapolis. Minneapolis waits until all the snow has fallen and for cars to pack it down to create a slippery glacier that will pit all winter long. It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen!
Thank you for such a thorough breakdown of living in Wisconsin. I am a travel nurse coming from Georgia to Oshkosh and I have watching channels like yours to get an idea. I am terrified at the thought of driving in the snow so I am thinking of not shipping my car and instead use Uber or Lyft. My other biggest fear is the cold. I have learned about layering. What are some of the warmest parkas you can recommend for women?
OMG - if you could see! We have blue sky and sunny weather, zero snow on the ground. Just dry concrete and brown grass. Milwaukee missed every single snow storm so far! I have not used my snow blower once yet. I wear a soft shell jacket 90% of the time, because I am not outside long enough. For cold and windy days get a long jacket with a furry hood, biggest mistake is not keeping you neck, hands and feet warm. You may find that it's actually half as bad as you think. Also, my wife always freezes in October when temps start to drop, yesterday she was outside in a shirt to get the mail and did not even seem to be bothered..
@@MarcusMKE Thank you so much. I have been so terrified. I start next week and still haven’t been able to decide which parka to buy. I have decided to get there n go to the shops to try some on to see which is the warmest. Love your detailed videos. Keep doing what you are doing.
The snow never last very long any more I remember roads with ice pot hole to the actual road when I was a kid and 3 feet snow banks on corners O and I've never been arrested for having to many clothes on
Yes the last winters have been relatively dry, just not much snow or rain. My 4 newly planted apple trees made it well through summer, but did not make it through the winter, roots were not deep enough yet and they dried out..
Hi Sir. Great video thank you. I watchdd a lot of your vidoes. I need to know about houses on rent in wauwatosa area in milwaukee, but Im scared that there is no snow cleaning service here? We have to clean it ourselves everyday?
On a single family yes, on an apartment usually no. But frankly, don't let the snow scare you - I have not had to shovel my driveway yet. We had a little powder a couple times, which I just broomed off. I am looking outside and see brown grass an its Jan 16th. We will have some snow, but it's just like mowing the lawn - not a big deal and you can hire the neighbor kid if you want to
Thanks Matt. I agree, especially this year: Dec was mild and we the last two weeks (early March) was sunny and 50s and even 60s! I am sure we get another snow dump, but the sun is strong and it won't last very long. I just wanted to give a real impression and not sugarcoat it!
Thank you for the info. I am from Minnesota husband from North Carolina We have spent the last 30plus years traveling for work and are looking into retiring in the Appleton area? Do you have a good agent that we can talk to that works in the Appleton/Two rivers are? Thanks again!
Great video, thank you! We're thinking of moving to WI from Southern California. My husband is an electrician and is really concerned about the cold Winter weather. How do electricians handle the Winter weather safely? Does construction stop when it hits a certain temperature for safety reasons? Thanks so much!
Most people are before they move here and from working with many I can tell you they expect way more snow than we actually have, but they are also surprised how long the cool season lasts into spring. Electricians work mostly inside, outside construction is usually not an issue until about 30F, you see some contractors move jobs around when we have a week in the teens to avoid working outside all day, but some just do because you get used to. I have built a home with my crew a few years ago, we broke ground late December, put the basement in in January, framed it up in January and by February we had the roof on - most of the days were not too bad. It is also surprising how even my wife gets used to the cold every year, in November she will complain she is freezing if it's 40 and in February she'll be outside get mail with no jacket because it is 40 :-)
I'm born in Milwaukee. But have lived in California in the 1960's and again in 2000 -2004. I would compare Milwaukee winter to that of Mammoth Lakes California. Everyday has Fall thru spring will experience morning dew. If frozen, car will be covered in ice every morning. If it snows in January it will not melt until March/April. There will be large snow banks just like Mammoth lakes. Some winters are worse than others. Some water there will be minimal snow all winter long.
Hi! how do you "know" where the road is when driving on a minor road? I was driving from Dousman to Oconomowoc, it was snowing and suddenly I lost the road. Everything, not only the road, was covered with snow. I will relocate to Wisconsin this Summer and that is my biggest concern. Please comment about that. Thank you.
Hi Juan, practice makes perfect! If you have never driven on snow before I understand that may feel scary! You should go practice a bit on a big open parking lot. Accelerate, break, turn at low speed, get a feel for how much grip you have. Do that when you have time and you are not in a rush to get somewhere. On small roads you can usually still see where the ditch is, but if you are not sure just slow down to be safe, or follow another car. I actually love driving on snow, I think it's fun, but I also grew up in the Alps. Leave early, slow down and keep it safe. If you are generally a decent driver you'll have it figured out quickly.
I have lived in Madison my whole life. And Wisconsin winters are nothing like there were 20 years ago…..snow wise. Now for the cold, that’s another story….windchills can literally get down to -40 to -50
It helps to pay attention! When the weather is better or warmer, note your surroundings when driving! In the winter I frequently had to dive from Brookfield to Oconomowoc early in the morning! Frequently I was on the road before the plows! Knowing exactly where the road lay was helpful! I also drove a 4wheel drive vehicle and used that feature when necessary! Never had a problem! Always remember, SLOW DOWN !
A snow blower would be useless in Vancouver Canada, we have mild winters mainly rain ,when it does snow it is normally heavy and wet with temperatures just below freezing
Yes you benefit from the relatively warm Pacific I believe... we get more of that continental climate and sometimes cold air straight down from the north. Love BC, hope to make it out there this winter for a week of skiing!
Don't be scared! Attitude is everything - try to have as much fun as possible! My wife and I always like going for walks in the snow when it's sunny... filling up with sunlight is very important for your mental health! Make sure you have good gear, if you are dressed for the weather you will never be cold! And maybe plan a trip out of here in March.. LOL
Its not often that you actually drive on snow. Depending on where you live they may be plowed before you wake up. Last winter we had barely any snow at all, let's see if 2022/23 will be different
Another winter video? We have not had any significant snow this winter yet. This morning we had an inch of powder, which the wind blew away. Dark blue sky now!

I am sure we will have some more snow in the next two months, but most of the days are just cool/cold and dry. If it does snow heavy, the roads are usually cleared within hours. PWD has a massive fleet of snow removal equipment. The roads get salted or treated with salt brine before a snow fall, so the snow melts the second it falls on the road. I have seen what happens when it snows 1 inch in the south - everything stops, because there is no snow removal equipment. When we have a bad winter storm, people will work from home, come to work later, usually no problem, everyone understands. It does! Especially in March and April I am ready to see some green stuff and usually travel south to catch a break. But frankly, so does summer in FL! At least for me personally. So you have to pick your poison, either keep close to an AC for a few months or close to a heater!

I’m from Northern California. I started traveling to Wisconsin for work in 2019. I was working in Waukesha and Ixonia and staying in Oconomowoc. Love my hometown and I prefer the cold. But the only thing that I hate about the winter back home is how ABSURDLY QUIET IT IS OUTSIDE. Winter is deathly quiet most of the time, unless you live in the city in which case it just makes the sound of bus air brakes louder lol.
Thinking of moving here in a few years. Appreciate the breakdown of the winters here.
Glad it helped! I find that a lot of our relocation clients are overestimating the amount of snow and sub zero temps (we don't have THAT much snow and if it gets very cold, its usually only a few days), but the cold season is just long and it takes a while for spring to arrive often not before May!

You’ve made my families move a lot more enjoyable with your excellent content. Thank you!
Happy to hear that and welcome to MKE! And BTW - winter is not anymore what it used to be. Mostly just brown grass instead of snow.
I was born n raised in Milwaukee so I would be used to it.
The winters suck, though they aren’t as bad as they can get in places like the UP, upper Minnesota, and some places in New England. And the summers… man, it’s really hard to beat the sheer beauty of wisconsin summer. It’s the most lush emerald forest, filled with life and color
Totally. My theory is that we love summer so much here, because we know what it's like to miss it. I am a big fan of full 4 seasons, love the change.
Great update my granddaughter is moving to Wisconsin
Thanks Barbara! Feel free to send her my channel - even if she is not moving to Milwaukee, a lot of the info is useful for Wisconsin in general
In Texas is the opposite, we have to wait out the summer before we can go out and enjoy ourselves in the afternoons. The Heat lasts from sometime in June through sometimes till the end of October. Excellent video. Very informative.
I love warm summer weather, but when it get into the 90s or more I don't want to be far from a pool! Did you grow up in Wisconsin?

Thank you for recognizing we don't have the equipment for snow. Well Amarillo Texas has the snow plows and salt.
Yes two plows and one front end loader. But Amarillo is also just a couple stone throws from the Colorado boarder :-)
@@MarcusMKE We live near Austin and grew up near Houston. It was our first time seeing Amarillo and while there it snowed. Us and our kids were BEYOND excited!! I live in Milwaukee an winter is the best season to me I love this video 👍
First snow today! Very curious to see what winter 2021/2022 will have in store for us - the last few have been rather mild..
This video is really incredible, and very helpful!! I may be moving to Milwaukee if I get hired for a new job, and this video is very helpful!

Moving to Wisconsin next year, lol.
I love winter and am from upstate Ny and Alaska so hopefully the apartments over there are okay 🤗
Oh yes, everything in Milwaukee has been built with winter in mind all the way back to the mid 1800s
The windchill is worse than the absolute temperature! The winds in Milwaukee make the cold bone chilling.
It been cold here in Milwaukee!
Thank you so much for this wonderful video! You have helped ease my fears of moving there! I am planning on moving there soon, and I am from Los Angeles, CA!
@@MarcusMKE Thank you for the info.
Just hibernate like a polar bear and adopt a penguin. You'll be fine.
If you have the money, spend a few weeks each winter in the Caribbean but leave the penguin at home. They don't do well in the heat.
Thank you for this incredibly helpful video, we’re Texan and definitely not looking forward to Wisconsin winters 😭
Winter is bad, but is a great city.I lived 52years .Now I live in Florida for the last 10 years.
Agreed! You should come back for the summer and visit; cooler by the lake ;-)
That's it. It's the way to go. Florida

I really tried to NOT sugarcoat the winter! Good thing is you can put on an extra layer, you never have to freeze if you dress right. In return, our summers are mostly 70s and 80s...
I live in Milwaukee and have all my life
And what do you think about winter?
Thanku so much sir ...i will b shifting to milwaukee n ds s helpful ..thanks from India
As a midwesterner having a long seasonal winter is worth it for the other distinct seasons we get of spring, summer and fall and having a winter is better than having the following:
Droughts
Mudslides
Volcanic eruptions
Floods
Wildfires
Tornadoes
Earthquakes
Sinkholes
Hurricanes
Sandstorms
Constant humidity
Those things listed that other states get that have milder/no winters, yeah winter isn't pleasant but if you are well prepared and have the right gear and live in an area that well adapts to winter and offers stuff to do in the winter this way you aren't bored to death.
Love it. Right on! Also: no scorpions, rattle snakes, large spiders, aligators and termites - courtesy of Mr Frost.
Thats why i want to move. My house has at least 2 scares a year cause of a raging fire and all the plants are dead. Still have to deal with snow for at least 3 months. CA just needs to be sent into the ocean.

@@MarcusMKE The Winter seems as expected. I've never lived in snow so seeing you clear the driveway with the snow blower was pretty useful. Your vid was very helpfull! Im moving from Puerto Rico to Milwakee for a job offer my mom got, I dont mind the cold I actually love snow ( I was massachusets in winter before ) (srr if I spelled wrong massachusets-)
We know nothing from Wisconsin or milwakee, and seeing your vids will help me prepare my family for when we move there.
I was worried about being outsiders in milwakee but I saw a vid of a guy saying that milwakee is very diverse and has a fair amount of latinos (That was such a relief for me TvT )
And that ppl in milwakee is very nice and friendly, thats another relief.
Im very nervous to go somewhere unknown with my fam (we are going alone we have no family in wisconsin- :'] )
But yeah, your vid is very very helpfull!!!
@@MarcusMKE Ooh I see!, I will make sure to pass by your vid!

I think the days are pretty much the same length regardless of where you live in the country.
Nice video! I love the footage you had in here. I moved to Milwaukee last July and have been loving it so far. Keep the Milwaukee content coming!!

Check attic insulation when touring a home.
I made this mistake and it led to ice damming, i found, in my poorly insulation attic
Blown in insulation is a $2500-3000 expense.

Dang, that does sound really dumb.
Thanks.I wanted to see it!

Last year was not bad at all and this year is even less snow. The bright side of climate change??
People complain about winter, but it’s only 2-3 degrees F colder than Chicago/ New York in January on average
Thanks Matt. I agree, especially this year: Dec was mild and we the last two weeks (early March) was sunny and 50s and even 60s! I am sure we get another snow dump, but the sun is strong and it won't last very long. I just wanted to give a real impression and not sugarcoat it!

Well, that's just Winter-lite and cold, snowy, rainy and because I lived in the North Shore or East Side most of my life, the wind off the lake is...numbing is being polite. Why is drinking the primary sport in Milwaukee? Just wait till you've been through your first Winter. Let me say this, if you don't own any piece of Wool clothing, you need it, to live in Milwaukee. Cotton sweaters? 😂🤣 don't make me laugh. Wool my friends. Wool.
You nailed it!! Wool for sure!
Since you lived there for 48 years, how long is the winter season from the beginning of winter to when the snow melts for good? How many heavy snow days in the winter do you guys get? Also, if a heavy snow day occurs, how fast will the city have the streets cleared? I'm asking because I'm from Arkansas.
@@slickwilly6868 winters are not what they used to be. I had to clear my drive way only 6 times last winter. Today is Jan 6th 2023 and we had snow once, about four inches, a few days later we were in the 50s and it's all gone. Winter is long, and even when you think it's over and getting nice in April, you still have to be prepared for a cold front to come through again. Flipside, the warm half of the year is really pleasant compared to the South.
Winters in Wisconsin have been relatively mild for the last 2 or 3 decades. Makes me laugh when I hear people complain about winter here these days.
This year and the last 3 for sure, the last big winter I remember maybe 2011 or 2012 we had lots of snow. But I hear that it is nothing like what it used to be 30 years ago
Lived there for 24 years, delivered papers at 5 am and mail after that.....see ya.
I moved to Florida simply because winter SUCKS! 39 years in Ohio was more than enough winter for me. VERY well edited video though and I enjoyed the footage.
It does! Especially in March and April I am ready to see some green stuff and usually travel south to catch a break. But frankly, so does summer in FL! At least for me personally. So you have to pick your poison, either keep close to an AC for a few months or close to a heater!
I live in NYC. Winter is my favorite time of year here, bundled in warm clothe.. I lived I California for 15 years and got homesick every winter. I love a good blizzard.
Winter in the Mid- West Showcase the weak from the Strong.
Not that bad, but cold enough to take care of all the alligators in the lagoons along the lakeshore.
LOL - Yeah, the gators don't like it! Also no termites, rattlers or scorpions ;-)
@@MarcusMKE why I will never live where there isn’t a hard freeze.

IF they can get rid of that putz of a governor, THAT would be helpful too.
I’m sure I’m not the only Californian in the comments 😂
Probably not Sophia! Of course everyone wants to know about snow when you come from SoCal, but Milwaukee (and other cities as well) get a lot of attention because of the fresh water here. Also, no droughts, wildfires, earthquakes or hurricanes. Yes, we do get some snow in the winter...🙃
I’m from Northern California. I started traveling to Wisconsin for work in 2019. I was working in Waukesha and Ixonia and staying in Oconomowoc. I would usually stay out there for 2 months at a time and go home for two weeks. It was definitely really cold compared to the winters we have out here in California. It was like bipolar weather in Wisconsin lol. Summer is awesome, there is lots of bars, lakes, hiking trails, cycling trails, food is great and you have to try out the cheese curds and Culver’s is definitely a great fast food place.
@@snoopy209 you totally nailed it! We really have two main seasons: hibernation and outdoor party to make up for it LOL
German accent?? 🤔
Yes, born in Austria. Good ear!
the weather sucks
Milwaukee is horrible, runaway crime , photo in thumbnail IS DEFINITELY a house in Milwaukee suburbs
Correct, Mequon I believe. But winter is definitely the same, no matter where in the Greater Milwaukee Area you live!
Don't move here winter is depressing
I agree - that's why we always take a trip this time of the year. But a lot of my clients who came here from the south tell me they have the same in the summer, just reverse. Weeks with temperatures over 100F, does not even cool down in the night. And humidity, depending o where you live. I guess snow birding is the ideal lifestyle ;-)
@@MarcusMKE I'm buying a van to live in so I can go south for the winter
VERY BAD
The perfect punch line! 😄
