- On January 24th, 2023, officers were dispatched in reference to a domestic battery. The caller dialled 911, and noticeable yelling was observed by the operator before she hung up the call. Both of them began denying any altercation, even though the woman had called 911. Instead of listening to the officers, the couple began behaving very aggressively. She wasn’t ready to give any details about the altercation whatsoever. The woman was taken to the hospital for checkup. The female was charged with resisting arrest.

I had a welfare check done on me once and the cop didn't even knock he just walked in and I had nothing but a blanket. Fortunately he was nice, observed my squalor and asked if I needed any help. I gave him my ID and it was a good wake up call for me to start getting my crap together. Once I was living with my ex and another girl came over and my ex called 911. Cop told me I appeared to be the only sober one there and to keep everything cool. I started seeing another girl and picked her and her kid up from somewhere and the father called 911 on me because he didn't know who I was. I'm so glad I haven't had to deal with any cops in many years since.

That poor, "aggravatedly" battered, 100% professional LEO may have not been entirely in the right either. Courts have not yet provided a final decision on whether placing your foot in a manner that prevents a dwelling's door from being closed violates the 4th amendment or not - so for now it is in the very least a "dirty trick". Then again, he could just claim "exigent circumstances" to enter said dwelling... and we all know that in case of subjectivity the LEO is always right...
need to charge her with something for answering the door in her underpants- no one wants to see that

Exactly! What if you were getting beat and you can call 911 but then have to hang up. Officers show up and hear arguing which means the person probably called on purpose. At that point officers HAVE to treat it like a domestic. Imagine a person saying through the door that they are okay when in reality they are not. Officers always air on the side of caution.

@@mba2ceo1. There is no "home invasion" statute. What you're likely referring to is when officers are allowed to enter a dwelling. And in this case there are 3 factors that ALLOW the police to enter: 1. 911 was called to the residence 2. A crime was suspected 3. Probable cause was established due to the 911 call, the suspected crime, the injuries witnessed, the resident physically engaging the officer with the door and what by the law is considered simple battery. 2. There wasn't a "false arrest" anywhere here. There are several charges the officers could have charged them with....but they were kind enough to not charge them with all potential crimes: 1. Misuse of 911 systems 2. Battery on a LEO 3. Domestic abuse 4. Obstruction 5. Resisting with or without violence. The female resident COULD have been charged with all of the above...but she wasn't.
I guess it's a good thing that you aren't on the jury then, because you'd have been in the minority of jurors and you clearly don't understand basic laws and civil rights and you have a predisposed bias against LEOs.
The bottom line is the officers WOULD HAVE just taken their info and left had the female not been intoxicated to the point of being belligerent and aggressive/abusive and uncooperative with the officers. She even admits at the end to a bipolar episode. And she wouldve been left alone had she not behaved like an insane person. You may not like police and you may want to think they're always "violating someone's rights"....but 99% of the time...youre gonna be wrong due to ignorance of the actual law.

Right? I was a junkie, h addict and never acted like this towards anyone let alone the cops. Actually getting arrested gave me the chance to use the opportunity to get clean. I was respectful towards the arresting officers and CO’s, so they were respectful towards me as well. Even went above and beyond to help me with what they could when I asked to stay in jail so I could go through withdrawal without relapsing.
In my experience, most LEO’s will try to get you help and be supportive if you actually want to do better and make a better life for yourself.
Hope that you’re doing alright, as much as you can be in addiction. Wishing you the best and that if you want to quit drinking some day that you’ll have all the support and success you deserve!

It’s happened to me. Cops showed up, I had been smoking weed, too. I apologized, gave them my info. They checked my place out to make sure it was ok. Told me to keep the weed inside (wasn’t legal at the time) and they left. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Do not confuse having a disability with not knowing right from wrong. They ensemble the difference and yes they do have a harder time with control but it does not excuse any behavior
