- On June 5th, 2022, officers responded to a case of abuse. Dispatch advised that several people were involved in an altercation, and one of the females had touched another girl inappropriately. Meanwhile, the officers located the man who had fled the scene after the altercation. The woman continued to argue with the officer, insisting that she was being arrested because she was black. She continued to behave difficulty in the jail as well. The officer wanted to understand her side of the story, but the female kept behaving erratically. The male was charged with simple assault while the female was charged with sexual imposition and public intoxication.

I teach my kids (white) about how privileged they are and how things like getting pulled over can be very different for them than other races. They witnessed and got very upset how the walmart "recipt checker" let all the white families pass and held a line of Mexican families. It led to really productive convos at young ages. What's upsetting is there's a clear difference of "is it because I'm black" from someone who uses it within the first 2 minutes of a police officer being nothing but nice and someone who is truly experiencing racism. I hate that some people just throw it out as if it's just another thing they're supposed to say. It hurts the people that truly experience racism. It's just like the "me too" movement. People that lie or intentionally try to get someone arrested when they did nothing hurts the actual movement. Less and less people care and those words become less and less important. It's just infuriating because there are real victims that suffer because of bs like this.

I am in my late 40s. I am too old for this nonsense now, but there wasn't someone who partied more than me. I did it in high school, college (up to two separate grad degrees). I have been drunk many times. 6"02', 205 lbs, trained person. The worse I have ever done while drunk is pass out on a chair and ruin the night for everyone because they had to take me home a handfull of times. I have never behaved like a fool, insult or especially try to fight anyone. Alcohol doesn't make you a bad person. It just prevents you from pretending you aren't one...
I never truly saw how destructive alcohol is until I completely quit drinking. Because it's legal and socially acceptable, people have this strange perception that it's harmless. You see commercials on TV and it's so culturally ingrained. If you're going to the beach or brunch with friends or to a sporting event or celebration of any kind, alcohol is just accepted as what you do to be social and fun, and yet it's so toxic. People get wasted and become emotional and confrontational and violent, they fall down and ruin their clothes and get all bloody and start ranting or crying. It's just interesting how many people can't see how toxic and destructive drinking is, they think it's just normal.

My dad was an LEO for over 30 years, he never had anyone slip their handcuffs. You know why? Because back then, they put them on tight, they didn't give a shit if they were uncomfortable. This is what happens when you drink too much. You have no perspective on your own behaviour. The police didn’t arrest her because she’s black, they arrested her because they had several people telling the same story about what happened. And she should be grateful that the one woman stopped her from driving. That could’ve ended so badly. And because she was stopped she doesn’t now have a DUI or even worse. She could have seriously hurt herself or someone else, or even killed someone. But because she drank too much she isn’t even aware of that fact. Nothing that occurred happened because of race. It happened because she drank too much and wanted to get in her car and drive home and someone tried to stop her. And because of her actions in the bathroom.
