@@wippletits That is the beauty of music - we can all experience an artist differently and each express how listening to Angelina sing affects us. In my day job of writing on AV gear I have listened to a lot of recorded music from the greats as a tool to test equipment and have had the experience of seeing great performers live including Ella Fitzgerald, but no singer has affected me as much as Angelina in terms of breaking a song down its core and reconstructing it so that the entirety of the music and its lyrics are uncovered. Also, if you listen to any of her original songs - you will see how every word in her lyrics is there to express her personal and world view and nothing is wasted on unnecessary production.
And today , 10 years later, she is taller than everyone on the stage when she one NGT, and she is taller in talent than everyone in music today. Love your reactions to our "Barefoot Queen of music"! Her voice is a gift from God, and He picked the right one to give that gift to!
She magically can transform simple words into deep emotions. We not only hear her we feel the emotions she is creating.
there's something gladdening to see an adult man cheering for little Angelina... it's only right to adore this kid...
Don't beat yourself up because you sneak a few of Angelina's performances now and then, i wouldn't wish to deny my worst enemy the life affirming joy of her gift to this world, let alone somebody who is going out of their way to share with us that joy. Angelina has such a huge back catalogue awaiting you that it would take months, if not years to catch up, even without what she is to release in the future. Looking at Angelina’s output through the years, it is indeed unbelievable that she has always gone for the “hard” choice, the iconic songs, the difficult songs. Her “training/practice” sessions have brought us all so so much pleasure. That magical world she goes to in her head when she sings, the love she says she finds there, she pours it all into her voice! - and we melt!

What A Difference A Day Makes would be the logical next one. She did it a couple week after she won, at an outdoor venue "Allsang Pa Grensen", and it's phenomenal.

You realize that you’ve only scratched the surface. She gets better every year, and her vocal tools are better than any popular singer I’ve ever heard-no qualifications. It will be hard to stay on that chronological track because Angelina has so many incredible songs at all ages. She combines that effortless musicality with a voice for the ages, and you’ll start hearing that she is the best interpreter of lyrics across many different genres.
If you stay chronological, try her performance of What a Difference a Day Makes. It’s 8 year old Angelina, with live music behind her, outdoor, before thousands of fans. It just pours out of her effortlessly with perfect timing, phrasing, and musicality.

That is the one that hooked me.
One other point-Angelina has said that when she’s singing, she goes to a special place. You’ll see in the interview before this song that the interviewer has a hard time getting one-word answers out of Angelina because she really is an 8 year old kid. But when the music starts, she transforms into an amazing singer, completely wrapped up in her musical world and startling us with this unbelievable performance.
Angelina IS the EMPRESS OF JAZZ. PERIOD. She can and will pull you into her tale by your heartstring and lead you where she likes. Welcome to the rabbit hole my friend. You will also find her fans very helpful, kind and super defensive of OUR angel. He fans are every age, men women, boys, girls and she can sing ANY genre with ease. Simply a joy to listen to and she does NOT use autotune. It's her knowledge and practice and skill. Nothing more.

I hope you do listen to Angelina's version of "Bang Bang." At least privately. I prefer her cover of that number over Nancy Sinatra's; which I have listened to back in the day.
I listened carefully to what Alex said a couple times and figured out that he loves "Bang, Bang" so much that he couldn't help it and pressed the button to listen to Angelina sing it already. Thus he couldn't honestly do a first reaction to it for us.
Unfortunately if your going to go in order and only one every few days you wont get to her current stuff until late next year and her newest album is dropping in the next month or 2 her single already dropped ,, keep it up and thanks for the Playlist so we can keep you informed

Considering her age, this may be the most remarkable of all her performances, and I am certainly familiar with all of them. It is not my favorite performance, but every time I see it I'm convinced it is the most impressive one. The degree of vocal mastery is out of this world.

You do know that her actual name is Angelina Jordan Astar. After this performance she was declared a national treasure by the Royal Family and the Norwegian government.
Ha. Yeah. What came to mind when he was calling her "A Star" :) .. just how Norwegians make their names is confusing to me .. seems to me to be .. 'variable'
@@wippletits Her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar, is the daughter of Iranian artist and poet Mery Zamani and a Japanese father. Scandinavians have their own way of naming. In the "olden days" I think it was like using the father's name and tacking on son or daughter .. Anderson, Saradoughter etc. I think they also used place names and such.
@@wippletits wish you would explain Norwegian/Swedish naming conventions if possible. I get the impression something changed at some point .. like late 1800's or early 1900's when surnames became more fixed but could be wrong about that

It was with this song and rendition, back in 2015, that I was introduced to the unique Angelina Jordan's world! I was left speechless and flabbergasted!! I've been listening to Angelina daily for over 2 years now. For me - what differentiates her from all other singers (at any age) is her innate GOD given gift of being able to emote the essence of each song she sings direct to our hearts & souls allowing us to also deeply FEEL her music as it flows through her. Hi there as an hardcore Angel i totally agree but i recently found another girl with nearly the same skills - her name is Putri Ariani and she is from Indonesia - imo Angelina is more Versatile in singing than Putri but Putri is more skilled with Instruments - both Girls can convey emotions like nobody current - both are 17 now and have a similar career - winning Indonesia got Talent the same year as Angelina Norway got Talent - Putri is 10 days older and blind but maybe check her out - if she would do a concert here in Germany i certanly would attend - by the way i Was a bit sorry that nobody knowed that Angelina was in Germany or where she sang - i would have tried to get a Ticket- cheers

Back in the early 1970s when I was a baby, my grandma used to sing this song to me when I was upset. Tears flow unchecked from my eyes when I hear Angel sing this song.
I call her the Song Whisperer. That's how I can explain how she does what she does. She channels the greats from the past.
During the nevt 2 years her vocal maturation is unbelievable. She was 8 in the ginal but see how much she improves by the huge open air concert where she has backing singers ....still 8 but better WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKE

Still in my AJ top 5 performances. First time we really hear her sustain perfect vibrato through vocal fry -- amazing effect that has become her trademark. And she's 8 years old here.

Not only does she convey the emotion in an English song, it's not her first language, not even her second, only her third, and as for the fact that you say you can listen to her all day, I personally have been listening to her for at least 5 years and not a day goes by without hearing her in those songs and I'm still not tired of it... 🦶🦶👑🗣🎙🎷

Hi Alex, thanks for the reaction...fully agree with you...Angelina singing brings peace and relax to our soul and heart...I can assure you I never felt something like that listen to all the others great singers during my life...I am 67 and again I say only Angelina Jordan brings me goosebumps, tears, relax and peaceful moments when you are listen to a song....I am following her journey here in RUclips since 2020 when the first time I saw her rendition of Bohemian Rapsody on AGT...
I'm not a big fan of AJ, and tbh, I can't sit through dramatics, especially after eating, so I'm not sure which Summertime you are referring, but if you want to be blown away, as even I am, her Summertime in Seoul was otherworldly. I think AJ has a lovely tone, even now, when she isn't doing Amy or Adele impressions, but THIS particular song in Seoul was like the 3rd best vocal's I've ever heard from anyone ever, minus Whitney singing One Song, and my childhood friend, who was also a prodigy and sang circles around Streisand. Her performance in Seoul wasn't just exceptional, it was one for the ages that you just want to wrap up with a pretty bow and attach it to your heart!! And I don't think she's the best singer, so it was a brilliant rendition.

I have watched countless reactors deal with Angelina for the first few times and NONE of them could put together the words they needed at the time. You are in good company.
The only problem with sticking to this timeline is her new performances must be promoted & shared by us fans to build her profile as much as we can, you can do this and still go back to the younger Angelina with no problem all her performances are still incredible no mater what age
