The best discussion of hyperparathyroidism I have found. Two months post surgery now and am feeling 100% better. Still have bad osteoporosis which could have been avoided with earlier diagnosis. More education for physicians and patients alike an absolute necessity.
found out i have none at all this is the best videos i have seen thank you im hypopara
Thank you
I keep having blood test. They said I have this and need surgery. The dr just gave me vitamin d now my pth is 58 and my calcium is 11.9. I’m still waiting. I feel like I’m gonna die. I have all the symptoms except stones but when I took vitamin d my kidneys hurt bad then just stopped after a few days. I have clavicle swelling on both sides. I am getting crazy answers like it is fat and I don’t know what it is.
I’m getting so aggravated
I'm wondering if next time If you can address how lactation might affect pth and calcium levels
They probably never even looked into it. I'm interested in that too. I just recently stopped nursing after 4 years.
My calcium isn't that high. About 10.4 or something. But ny parathyroid hormone is 145. My Drs nurse called and said all my labs are normal. No one is doing anything about this. I have all of the symptoms but no one cares.
Get a new doctor, yours is worthless.
@@halo2600 isn't that the truth. I just live in area where there are few endocrinologists. Probably go to University of Iowa when (if) this virus settles down. Have a good day. Take care. Be safe!
Dear Lauren, i recommend you test your ionized calcium, vitamin D, phosphorus. And after that perform US of the neck.
I had to go to 5 different doctors. How old are you? If you are 30 or older you should not have calcium in the 10s. What is your Vit D level? Is it low? Get an ultrasound. My tumor actually showed up on the scan which is rare.
@@ninajohnson8389 I'm 63. My calcium is 10.4. My Vit D 3.4 and my parathyroid 145. I refuse to take anymore Vit D. I have a 4cm nodule on my thyroid that I want removed. No one will remove it. My aunt died of thyroid cancer and it scares me. I just read biopsies of nodules of the thyroid that are 4cm or larger have a 20%false negative result on biopsies. I refuse any more biopsies. My hair is falling out by the handfuls. Thanks. Have a great day.
I was diagnosed with hyperparathyroidsm recently, I am 40. They send me to diverse scans and they maybe see adenoma, they are not sure as they dont see it on ultrasound. They suggested to have a surgery, to take a look inside but warned they might not find anything. I am confused. 5 different doctors were not sure is it adenoma or not...Someone with similar case?
I have nodules in parathyroid I’m fatigue muscle bones are sore I’m on high blood pressure pills my hair is thinning and I inch all over I put weight on and they say my tag comes back normal so nothings wrong even tho I tell them I don’t feel like myself anymore please help me
I'm losing hair and having all symptoms of hyperthyroidism. My harmone gland is flooding me with harmones. Can not taking premarin n progesterone in 3 months cause this? I have been on low dose for YEARS n never changed my dosage. My family doctor wouldnt refill my pills. I had to find a female doctor and it took 3 months. HELP
Have you had your calcium level checked?
My hair is falling out so bad. I hate to shampoo. It comes out in handfuls
I would have liked to have a transcript of this. My doctor is limited to 10 minutes. She doesn't explain anything. In and out. Take Fosamax.
