Lee, the directorial feature from award-winning Cinematographer Ellen Kuras, portrays a pivotal decade in the life of American war correspondent and photographer, Lee Miller (Kate Winslet). Miller’s singular talent and unbridled tenacity resulted in some of the 20th century's most indelible images of war, including an iconic photo of Miller herself, posing defiantly in Hitler's private bathtub.
Miller had a profound understanding and empathy for women and the voiceless victims of war. Her images display both the fragility and ferocity of the human experience. Above all, the film shows how Miller lived her life at full-throttle in pursuit of truth, for which she paid a huge personal price, forcing her to confront a traumatic and deeply buried secret from her childhood.
Lee is produced by Kate Solomon, Kate Winslet, Troy Lum, Andrew Mason, Marie Savare, and Lauren Hantz. It is written by Liz Hannah, Marion Hume, and John Collee.
Lee opens in U.S. theaters on September 27, 2024.

For those wondering, yes, Lee Miller was actually present on the frontlines. The first time it happened though, it was due to a communications failure. She ended up witnessing the Americans assault the German port town of St. Malo. She was also the only combat photographer present in the area, male or female. As women journalists were typically forbidden from the frontlines, she was repremanded and temporarily arrested for going to the frontline.
Lee Miller was a force of a woman, not only a brave journalist but a great artist aswell, her photos, especially the ones surrounding her time as a war correspondent are hauntingly beautiful

Lee miller was serving (believe it or not, still serving), and leading the US military in all combat, humanitarian, scientific and journalistic discoveries and theaters. Based on the previous facts, she also led the Union army during the civil war and really single-handily abolished slavery, so that’s why they mention her during the civil war. Actually her and Joan de Arc are twins. True stories.

* The Soviet Union had entire air squadrons of women special operations "The Night Witches" night bombers/raiders. Some of the best snipers in the entire world war, tank operators, and soldiers. Everybody ignores how many more stories of the Second World War are of note from the Soviet Union; where the majority of the war was fought.
Thats the Soviets, not the US, the US was alot more consertative and only allowed Women in non combat roles, also its important to note that the Night Witches were given outdated planes and the “Tank operators” was one female tank commander who purchased a tank from stalin, it was quite literlally only one woman
@@hunterprt1274 They had older planes because those older planes were too small to be picked up by radar and could successfully get directly over enemy encampments without detection for bombing; the Soviet Union had a lack of heavy bombers early in the war and used World War One era equipment often in their early air campaigns, this includes the Soviet Flying Aircraft Carriers.

This movie has a stacked cast but the feel and production of it kinda looks a little fake-ish or cheap. Like, there’s something about the costumes and the sets and the cinematography quality that just feels off, anyone else getting this feeling?
And now they are inflicting the same painful atrocities on people for almost a century who never wronged them to begin with…. They destroyed the feeling of compassion and empathy on the suffering they had gotten ne through.

Gonna go see this just to promote an original screenplay and non franchise film.
