In this video I explain why some brands stopped using Parabens and if it is ok to use products containing parabens.

Thank you soooo much Doctor, i have acne prone problematic skin and i was afraid to use any skin care product with Parabens. But now i know that they are good preservatives which can actually prevents infection, fungi etc.

I wanted to ask that i am using 3% Aha Bha foaming cleanser and 10%niacinamide+zinc serum and 1% salicylic acid moisturizer for oily acne prone, acne scar skin so is this regime good or i need to add or eliminate something?? It will be great if you help me out😊

Not allergic to parabens, and tbh I feel safer with my paraben-containing items (e.g. shampoo, conditioner, skincare, etc.) as they can last a bit longer - microbial activity tends to be higher in water-based items than in oil-based products, hence the need for preservatives.
While going paraben-free is for peeps having paraben allergies or people wanting to have zero parabens in their skincare, I think it might be best to have paraben-free items in smaller pack sizes so these can be used up before they spoil. 🤔That, and also not contaminating the product by dispensing it carefully (especially ones with pipettes or droppers, which exposes the formula to the elements and environment outside the bottle/packaging).
I had a water-based serum that was paraben-free, and it spoiled in less than 2 months despite me not letting the pipette touch skin or any other surface and keeping the bottle in a cool, dry place away from the direct sunlight. So yeah, I'd love my items to stay viable for a bit longer rather than have to throw something away that has a month's worth of use just because it went off.

Honestly, I never had any problems with parabens throughout my skincare journey and I am more scared if my skincare products is labeled as preservatives-free.

Doc! May I ask po if paraben-free may cause stinging effect? I have red some claims about the new formula (it is now paraben-free) of celeteque moisturizer that they experienced stinging effect as compare to old formulation (with paraben, I guess)?
Pwede, if hindi cya hiyang sayo. That's what some experts are saying about newer preservatives, hindi pa sila ganun katagal sa market and some may actually cause allergic reactions.

Neutrogena sunscreen contains paraben but they didn't mention how much concentration is added, so I am confused should I use Neutrogena sunscreen or Not?
Branded products will use parabens within the recommended concentrations so I personally wouldn't worry about it :)

Hi aimee! Though i havent personally tried belo sunscreens i have gotten good feedback from my patients :) maraming ok na sunscreens in the market especially the asian brands containing more modern filters. I suggest you test ung mga sunscreens sa stores and check which one ung gusto mo ung feel sa skin mo, tint if meron and ung consistency :)
Also dont forget the minimum requirements:
Broad-spectrum, with an spf of at least 30 or At least PA++ and to apply enough amount correctly.

Sensitive skin is usually due to a weakened skin barrier in which case using moisturizers containing ceramides and fatty acids will greatly benefit your skin. So yes u need to use moisturizers but make sure they contain the right ingredients.

Ito Kasing si Philippa Darbre humirit pa unlit nun gave 2013 or 2014 ata at directly she said parabens cause breast cancer.

Doc, sana masagot nyo to de talaga ko nakakatulog dahil sa parabens na yn 😄 kinakabahan po kc ko sa baby ko yung po mga vits nya nutrilin at ceelin sagana sa paraben po. Tulad ng Proplyparaben at methylparaben takot ko bigla ipainum sa baby ko kung safe paba inumin yun ng baby ko po. Sana doctora mapansin nyo comment ko matagal nko naguguluhan dito sa parabens na yn. Yes, in my opinion, they are both safe to use. They are antimicrobial preservatives meant to prolong the shelf life of products. Maraming fear-mongering online, kaya gets ko ung worry mo :)

Depends on your skin type and skin issues. Most gentle cleanser are ok to use naman :)

out of topic question po: can i still reuse old lipsticks? will "reheating" the lippie get rid of bacterias? meron po kasing pinamanang lippie si mother, kaso walang nakalagay na mfd or exp date. tas sinearch ko pano ireuse, sabi ng google, imelt ko under heat pero parang nagddoubt ako dun sa process na yun 😥

Naku hindi ako sure about heating ng lipstick 😬 but since jn contact cya sa mouth/lips mas prone to bacterial contamination cya kaya usually 6 months lng ang recommended PAO ng lipsticks :)
