Not that surprising, I mean basically every animation studio used Maya, nowadays Blender starts to become more common. The Software provides a lot of features that just are greate for animation nowadays and gets constantly updated plus doesn't have the same cost. But well Maya and espacially Arnold Renderer just have their merits yk. So Maya still is the industry standard
@@BlooxPRO no but Cycles beats both Houdini and Arnold at rendering. Maya only catches up because of the V-RAY addon. But at that point VRAY and Cycles are both ray-tracing engines so you can’t really compare they’re practically the same. Maya is used for most movies. However Blender is also used by studios to make animations which reach well over 200 million views on RUclips (Squared Media for example), and not just one but consistently hitting that mark on multiple animations, reaching a much greater target than most movies do (at least for the amount of tickets sold)

Worked with Maya for 8 years professionally, and the only time I've ever had a crash is when an Animator used a custom script they didn't provide to the rest of the team Not very accurate, these days anyway.
Agreed, although im still pretty intermediate in maya, I can safely say it crashes 20x less than my favorites like 3DSMax or blender. Although it's still a very difficult software to begin with, it's reliable and handy and I realize why professionals use it above any other software.

I swear, people be saying that blender is the best/easiest when it comes to animation. Me, an SFM animator, when I try to animate something in blender, I get so confused it starts to hurt
Once you figure it out, you will never touch sfm trust me. I used SFM for 8 years, and when I learned Blender. I never really came back to it. The graph editor in SFM is painful, having to respline after every change, just randomly being unable to put keyframes down due to a very weird bug where you have to playhead the timeline and then paste a keyframe. But the most important thing is RIGs, the fact that you can easily transfer from IK to FK on any limb at any given time in the animation. Or having heel controls where the toes stay on the floor while you bend the heel. Or just the fact that you layer animations on top of each other in the NLA editor and blend between them or have seperate animations for arms and legs. One great thing about SFM is the great amount of assets you have to animate with.
It was the same for me. Now I find it really easy and never touched SFM again, damn it even kinda hurt uninstalling. Blender will be your next SFM but way better. Right now I’m learning Maya though, the headaches are coming back…
As a former Blender main who now is a VUE 2024 main, I can confirm using VUE is exactly like using Maya. Just without most of the crashes and any errors.

Cuando tienes poco equipo de pc. Creeme nadie se pone animar ó importar modelos super densos. Por eso blender gana terreno en esas areas. Y como usuario. Hay cosas buenas y malas en maya. Que cuando estas en blender, dices... por que para ciertas cosas blender resuelve mucho mas simple las cosas. Y si algo no hay en blender no es por que se pueda. Simplemente aun no se lo implementando. Me gusta el modelado, el rig y la animación y estudio los 2 programas.

Son exactamente lo mismo. Las tecnicas son las mismas. Solo cambian los atajos y los lugares donde estan los botones. Maya tiene innecesariamente muchos botones. Parece para principiantes usuarios. En blender todo esta oculto en atajos. Hecho mas para avanzados. Es ahi la mayor diferencia en principio con su workflow. No obstante tambien puedes custamizar tus atajos tanto en blendet como en maya. Maya desde su creacion siempre exigio mucho equipo. Cosa que blender no. En blender vemos animaciones de mala calidad. Por que los usuarios en su mayoria son muy amateurs ó hobbistas. En maya tambien los hay. Asi que si algo se ve feo ó mal. Es culpa 100% del animador.

Good luck trying to built industry standard rigs in Blender, big studios will not hire you. Blender is not integrated in professional pipelines. Autorig is fun for hobby project but definitely not a serious animation tool
