      @@Romeo13124 There is no vibration issue at all. I've taken mine to 110mph and it vibrates just as much as it does at 60mph which is hardly anything. In fact, I installed mini apes on mine and completely deleted the stock bar end weights. Even with no bar end weights, it hardly vibrates.

    I have a 2018 650S. Love the bike.
    Hate the seat. Can't sit on it after an hour. Hurts too bad and I just lost 40 lbs.
    Just hit 500 miles. Not sure if it's normal or not but I found the chain slack over 40mm. I corrected it. No other complaints than the seat.

    • @MOTOBLADE
      @MOTOBLADE  4 года назад +1

      After the first 500 miles you will find some chain slack. Needs to have its 'break-in' service done. I agree with you 100% on the seat. Once I started riding longer distances I dumped the stock seat for a Corbin. Makes a world of difference in comfort. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

      Unfortunately I seriously doubt they will come up with a more powerful Vulcan S. They just released the Kawasaki Z900RS which is Kawasaki's new Retro Naked Bike and it will sell like Hot Cakes. If it weren't over 10k I would seriously consider it. Personally, I think the Vulcan S has plenty of spunk and it was rated as one of the Top 15 Fastest Cruisers. Granted it was in 15th place but still it made the list and 0-60 in 4.2 seconds is as fast as a Camaro or Mustang V-8. So while a more powerful Vulcan S may be nice it is unlikely that it will ever come to pass especially with so many other choices out there. That said, I am perfectly happy with the performance of the S.

    The Sportster looks, feels, and sounds like a motorcycle. The Vulcan S does none of those things. The Sportster has no liquid cooling system to deal with, no chain to deal with, no valves to adjust, and there are tens of thousands of aftermarket parts for it. The Vulcan S is basically a smooth, quiet, drop dead boring transportation appliance. Such a shame coming from a company that once built the awesome H2 750cc 2 stroke triple, and the 900cc and 1000cc Z1. This POS reminds me of Honda's hideous and disgusting new Rebel, and makes me wonder what happened to the once great motorcycle industry.

      If it makes you feel any better, check out my newer videos on my channel. I ride a Sportster with a 1275 Hammer Performance conversion now because of the sound, power, and feel. Vulcan S was great for my first bike to learn on, but I agree with your points. Why I ended up having an Indian and a Harley in the garage.

    It is worth mentioning that Vulcan S has a parallel-twin engine instead of a V-twin design, and therefore, it has very different control riding characteristics. When I go to very light throttle, it gets a slight vibration/shudder. Not really lugging motor and it will accelerate fine. The Vulcan S simply doesn’t like “light throttle “. It likes to be wound out and shifted around 5000 rpm. I wanted to shift at 2000 rpm and ride at 2500 to 3000 rpm and Vulcan S engine doesn’t like that (shudder and vibrate). I now shift at 4500 to 5000 rpm and cruise around 5000 rpm. It just takes some getting used to (for those who used to ride a V-twin bike).

    Thank you for the review. I have a question about the dealer customizing the bike for the original purchaser who is say 6-1 and then I purchase the bike later (I am 5-5) and the handlebars don't fit well for me nor the foot pegs? The handlebars on your bike look good for me but on another video I watched the handlebar was the straight version? That would not work well for me, I am short and stocky in build. Do I go back to the dealer and ask for a different handlebar, and different foot pegs? I see this as a potential issue for what appears to be a sweet bike. Thanks.

I'm in North Georgia too, I want something powerful enough to take my wife for a ride up through the mountains, yet small enough to be easy to maneuver in tight turns.

    Almost wanted to get a new bike this season. I just couldn't let this bike go. It has too many great things going for it. Most of it looks like a cruiser and rides like a sportbike. See i dont understand the need for ABS. None of my bikes have had it and any of my cars that do, i disconnect it as long as it wont throw codes. I despise it, and it honestly scares the hell out of me lol. I feel like for those of us who ride with no ABS to switch over to one with it would freak us out, and there isn't really a way to get used too it..idk just my .02🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @MOTOBLADE
      @MOTOBLADE  6 лет назад +2

      I get that, if you haven't had it before. BUT, I have activated abs on all of my bikes (usually a slick spot in the road or a dumbass pulls out in front of me) and I can say for certain it has kept me from dropping or low-siding my bike. It doesn't do anything loud or even feel weird, it literally just keeps your brakes from locking up and it's something I would never get a bike without. But that's just my .02 😁 Ride safe brother!

    You do not compare Harley Sportster Iron 883 HP to Vulcan S.
    You could though compare it vs Street 750 or Street Rod.
    Which both have liquid cooled engine and 53 HP Street or 64 HP Rod, and are priced more close to Vulcan S.
    I am not saying which bike is better, I am just saying you compared wrong bikes.

    I owned a Kawasaki Vulcan EN500 which is a 1/2 of a 1000cc engined bike. It is a cruiser, water cooled, inline twin, belt drive (later they went to chain) bike. The EN500 was faster than my 883s I have owned and 0-60 mph faster than my 1200 Sportster too. I would guess, the Vulcan S 650 is just a bored out 500cc or some form of a "bigger" EN500. That size of bike is good for most riding, but if you go long distances on the major highways, then it is time for a Touring bike. Great "all arounder" bike.

    • @MOTOBLADE
      @MOTOBLADE  6 лет назад

      A Babbit Yeah, while it can definitely handle highways, I'm not gonna do a cross country trek. You might be right on the engine as it's technical model name is the EN650. It's a great all around bike, but its not a touring bike (nor does it try to be)

      Motoblade, good to know. I did not know it was an "EN" 650 like the old EN500. The EN500 had the "screw and nut" adjustment system for the valves. No shims to buy! Easy valve adjustments. Makes me want to get another EN500 or a newer EN650/Vulcan S....

I went straight up Kawasaki Z1000 2010 model. I love it. It fits me, but its a huge amount of bang under my butt. With the 65 mph thing comming up end march I have been eyeing this bike at the 2020 bike expo in Utrecht. What, in your words, will I get when i switch to this bike. Instead of a Harley. I think the seat is horribly uncomfortable. After 30 minutes I start fidgeting because my butt and tailbone start to get sore. Also I'm a little disappointed in the exhaust. It just sounds weak. Other than that I really like the bike. It's got plenty of power, the ABS works great, and you can really lean it into a corner. It's super forgiving for newer riders but it's plenty of bike for even experienced riders.

    great comprehensive review buddy ,,, you're pretty right , this Vulcan is much better than its closer counterparts like Street 750 n Iron 883 . The styling and added technical features are too good ,,The engine is the main advantage as its the same engine which Kawasaki use on Ninja 650 , Versys platform so it has all the advantage like pickup and performance which we saw on their Ninja n Versys with minor ups n down. Plus the spare parts and accessories are also cheap . This will be my future motorcycle , was really waiting for a medium cruiser . Last but not least loved the cute festive windblast decoration :)

      I can't say anything about the 883 but I have ridden the Bolt and the Vulcan S is definitely the better bike. As much as the Vulcan S impressed me for a 649cc motor the Bolt disappointed for a 950cc engine. The specs don't tell the whole story. Ride them both and you will see that the S feels a lot more peppy off the line then the Bolt. I also test drove a Yamaha XSR900 and that bike scared the pants off of me. I'm looking to upgrade from my cramped rebel 300. But Unless I can hit 65+mpg doing a steady 60mph on the interstate ( which will be 75 to 85% of my daily commute to and from work), I'm fearful I"ll have stick to choosing the cb500x or nc750x adventure bikes.

    i ride about 40 minutes and my ass is dead. sometimes it vibrates so much it feels like pins and needles in my feet. i have only owned v-star650's before owning one of these (but have ridden other and bigger cruisers) and im weighing up if the performance is worth the dead ass and feet that makes me want to rush home so i can stop ridding and get off this bike. i like how fast it is and pulls nicely and how it goes into ECO mode when riding, the stock bar's height feels good, the dash is nice too, it has a fuel gauge, the time and obviously the speed. they're nice bikes but a aftermarket seat (a more comfortable seat) would be a good upgrade on the bike.
    i only ever hear good about this bike and never anything bad and all reviews and videos i see people ridding these bikes last about 5-15 minutes talking this bike up to be n amazing bike and well it is in a way but after taking this on a long ride i can say this isn't for long rides like most cruisers. but hey i may be wrong anyone else have this problem?

      KFrankMusik I've only got a 30 inch inseam, but I'm 5' 7". The standard setup seams to work for me. Just don't get the extended reach :P Your dealer will fit the ergofit system to you before you ride home.

      KFrankMusik I actually tried the ninja 300 before getting the Vulcan. They're nice bikes, I will add one to my collection eventually

    Only if this bike had transmission by shaft or by belt it would be perfect

      Johnny Sneakers Glad I could help! The Vulcan S is an AWESOME bike. Try to get on one as soon as you can! Remember the ergo-fit system. If it doesn't feel quite right at first, you can have it adjusted!

    Does it vibrate or taper off on power at freeway speeds (70-80)? My 900 custom starts to get the buzz nearing 80+MPH.

      Nathan Whitney I don't feel any drop in power. I also don't notice any excess vibration. Just my personal experience. Roads are also very good where I live so that helps.
