Dionne Warwick is the perfect example of longevity and professionalism! She is the epitome of musical eloquence! Ive seen her sing live with colds yet she managed to pull through and impress the audience. We were all singing along and rooting for her! I love me some Dionne!
She finally is getting the Kennedy Center Honors, and I think it will be televised. Queen Latifah is getting one, too. I wish she and Burt Bacharach and Hal David had gotten to get one with her.
MY FAVORITE.!!! 👏 LOVED all of the Dionne Warwick songs. 'Don't Make Me Over' was indeed my FAVORITE. I Loved Dionne Soooo, my Mother took to see Dionne in Warren, Michigan (suburb of Detroit) on my 33rd B'day Feb. 4. Me Thrilled l bought Dionne a dozen Roses, with a note requesting My Fav. Evidently it wasn't on program. I left on Cloud Nine. Hallelujah Anyhow!🙏👏 I'm now 80 now. ✌️💖🎶Dionne, Thank You.
Back when artistes had to actually be in the same place n develop chemistry when collabing. My generation barely do that these days especially due to the technological era we live in.
People do sadly get overlooked. Olivia de Havilland lived to 104 yet never got Kennedy Center honors. Giving lifetime award to young guy writing one single Broadway musical was a giant joke!
for me, Dionne didnt have to look very far to figure out how to approach singing what she wanted to sing. Yes, her voice is very 'unto itself". And she's NEVER denied how gospel trained her to sing different genres. But she wasn't doing anything forreign, either. The late, great Della Reese and the late, great Diahann Carroll, were also women who sang pop standards before it was cool. They paved that way for Dionne. But she was THE ONE to attack the mainstreamm pop music culture, the same way that Aretha staked her claim to being the best soul/r&b vocalist for many decades. Dionne is the original pop goddess, who paved a way for Whitney, Celine and Mariah.
Dionne Warwick is a woman of greatness and class. I love seeing all these wonderful artists, many who are gone but never forgotten!!!❤

Dionne Warwick. Pure class.
Ms. Dionne Warwick is the epitome of class, elegance, and a phenomenal songstress..
Not sure why The Kennedy Honors are not giving Dionne her due? And they keep giving it to lesser artists. But we know what a treasure Dionne truly is.

Glad to hear Hal David speak. He wrote the great lyrics for Burt Bacharach wonderful music.
