I am now 60 years old. I am proud of myself for discovering the talent of Burt Bacharach, a man and his music, when I was only 16 years old. I compared all the records that had come out so far. I loved and love the indelible notes and words music of Burt Bacharach like no one else in the world. Not just me. All of Italy. The Music of Burt Bacharach forever in our hearts. Indelible music until the end of the world. And beyond!

Watching Bacharach and Warwick live together on stage and watching them looking at each other and completely in sync with each other and playing off each other is a beautiful sight to behold! I was just a girl and my first notice of his music was "The Luck of Love", probably because I was getting to that age where all of the sudden, I was interested in what love was all about! And then in high school, besides my beloved Beatles, discovering Patti Smith, Sex Pistols, Blondie but still also loving Burth Bacharach, Carpenters, Smokey Robinson. etc. It is sad to me that so many people willingly limit themselves by only liking certain genres of music. To be open to ALL music is to be open to anyone's heart- because that's what music does. I love that quote from when someone asked Duke Ellington what kind of music he liked, and he responded, "I like GOOD music". And Mr. Bacharach, thank you because you made some really GOOD music, that all music lovers will forever be grateful for and will play and sing forever.

@@tim2015 Thanks, Tim. But I need to confess my remembrance of Duke Ellington's quote was a little off. I realized after double-checking that he actually said: "There are two kinds of music. Good music and the other kind". The sentiment's the same, but my recollection wasn't quite right! So, in this case, good intentions are hopefully equal to good music!

Can't be enough accolades for Burt Bacharach. Along with Paul Simon and Neil Diamond he made the 60/70s pop music (music extraordinaire). As well, along with the brilliance of both Hal David and Dionne Warwick the ears of a young America at that time were educated to a much higher element of musical expression than could be hoped for. It took me a year or two (in about the mid to late 60s) to realize that a great deal of the 45s (single records) I was loving and collecting had Burt's stamp on them. Hit after hit after hit (and even some of the non-hits) -- so much fabulous music. Thank you Mr. Bachrach; and thank God for sending you to us. You took a God-given talent and through much sweat and toil turned it into a gift to the world. Well done (time after time after time). And in closing "I Say a Little Prayer for You" for good health and longevity -- and a few more wonderful songs, perhaps (please); because "What the World Needs Now"... is Burt sweet Burt! 2/2019

It's amazing that Bacharach's music for WOMAN was terribly received in 1977. Listening to it now, 40 years later, we can appreciate that it was far ahead of its time. People are basically lazy when faced with something very original. They have little appreciation for nuance and want something that is very easy to understand. That is my humble opinion.

What made his amazing is the fact that he was able to hold his own in the 1960's when the Music at the time was either from The British Invasion, Motown, The Beach Boys were dominating The Charts. Even Phil Spector his Brill Building Colleague was starting to lose steam. I remember hearing not too long ago Jack Jones Get Ready For Love and it had such a Mad Men Vibe to it and it was played on The Show.

It's hard to believe that 35 Years Ago this year On The American Bandstand 33 1/3 Anniversary in 1985 Burt & Dionne did the first Song to help people with AIDS. Since then we've lost so many amazing folks.

Wow, blown away. By everything. Just one little more thing from this video I learned, Promises Promises by Naked Eyes was also by him. There are some extended remixes of that song that I found recently that I love so much. Just shows how long throughout time his influence in my life. I'm 58. I'm going to Wikipedia now and find a list.

Burt Bacharach, was one of those creative people who just made everything in music fit! the ears and heart; of people who love or are on their way to fall in love, or are in love! Burt, designed songs with this "Got-You! or Got-Chucha-Where-I-Want-Cha"! Hold on your emotions!

I was born in '75 and first recognized Bacharach's name through linear notes on Elvis Costello's first album, he also covered "I just don't know what to do..."...since then I've highly revered him along with the 'likes' of Phil Spector and Joe Meek. Love the Shirelles!!!

One of the great composers/songwriters. A legend in American pops music history.
His music brings joy & happiness to many for decades, and still.
    Such a loss.
He’s now no longer with us, but his music remains.
His name’s marked in the pop-music world history.
    Rest In Peace❤️Burt Bacharach.
    You’ll always be remembered.
