I have nothing against Natalie and love her music also but I prefer the original hit to the remake.🤷🏻‍♂️❤️🐻

I know the plight of the dark skinned man very well. When I was a young boy in the 70s, my grandmother and other adults would tell me I looked like this man, but I took it in a negative way because I knew from my own experience since I was 6 years old that this was not a good look, according to my people at least. Even my own mother told me at 12 years old to stop looking at pretty girls because they would only want someone who looked like me if I was some rich ball player. So I'm glad I finally found this documentary. It's the first time after all these years that I actually listened to him and took a good look at him. He wasn't a bad looking man at all. It's funny that my personality is much like his in that I don't like confrontation and I try to see the positive in this ugly world. But I must say he had way more swag than I.....lol

Blacks loved Nat King Cole so I don' know what you're talking about. He received BackLash at the time of One Alabama Incident because certain groups of blacks felt that he should have been angrier & protested when a group of white guys beat him up on stage. But like Martin Luther King Jr, Nat King Cole did not lose his temper Or express anger when dealing with things. The backlash ended soon as things died down. He quietly sued many white establishments that were Racist towards him. He was a very shy quiet man so he didn't protest to those American Racists. He was loved by Blacks even after he took his last breath. #RIP

Nat King Cole is the greatest male singer of all time. Keely Smith is the best female singer ,who we lost on December 16,2017. Nat didn't need those cigarettes to improve his voice. God gave him the talent. All Nat needed to do to keep that velvet voice strong was to keep singing!!!!!!!! If he had survived lung cancer,Nat would have returned to full time playing. This was his original calling card. He already had one lung removed, which finished his singing career. But what a Jazz pianist Mr. Cole was!!!!!!!! Nat Cole is truly "unforgettable" and all of us should listen to him "day in,day out". God bless everyone,Happy New Year and ROLL TIDE! RIchard Rhoden from Muscle Shoals,Alabama

Peter, thanks for your reply. Matt Monro is excellent. I plan to sing "Real Live Girl" at our weekly karaoke at a local family restaurant. Not a great singer but am improving. If Nat and Matt had an actual showdown,it would probably come down to one or the other hitting a bad note after 100 plus songs. Like 2 championship teams or fighters duking it out down to the wire. I'd cast my lot with Nat. Again,Mr. Monro is marvelous. Richard Rhoden

DianneReevesFan ...Nat's left lung was removed on January 25th, 1965. It was a successful operation. However, shortly afterwards, it was discovered that the disease had spread throughout his vital organs, liver and his spine. He died in his sleep on February 15th, 1965 at 5:30 a.m. Pacific time. I took his death terribly hard. I was almost twelve years old old at the time.

When I was growing up we listened to NKC a lot. And I mean a lot. My parents had his records. Played them on every occasion. When NKC was on the radio my father would turn up the volume.
I grew up in Europe, in Denmark. My parents are white ....well, now it is just my mother.
We listened to Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Mahalia Jackson, Frank Sinatra,
I didn't think about those artists mostly being black. Neither did my parents. They and I never understood how color would make a difference.
So .... I suppose that it is no surprise that I would later marry a Kenyan musician. And we are still married :-)

Wow!! My late dad introduced me to Nate King Cole..Mr. Cole was way before my time, but I would sit with my dad who was a singer and so am I, and I learned the words to his beautiful songs!! My dad would say "sing it Gwenie"..Now that I think about it, my father reminds me of Nate, well groomed, well dressed, awesome singer, oh and that swagger 😊, Mr. Cole deserved the recognition that he received, Rest Well Mr. Nate King Cole 👑❤️

See the clip of Nat with Sammy Davis Jr. It's beautiful. Both consummate artists had to endure the Evil Grizzly Bear of white people's hatred and racism over and throughout their entire careers. Same pervasive story across so very many Biographies of great Black American entertainers. I'm exhausted by that same old story.

Try looking for them in second-hand stores or thrift stores. I've seen all kinds of albums there or try re-sale places where thieves sell their booty to get money for drugs. Good luck.;-)

He was cool outwardly because of his talent and personalty,
But inwardly the agony that he had to bear due to racism, only he knows.
