- Nat King Cole was indisputably one of the greatest musician singers of the century. Despite his short career, he accomplished what no other black artist had ever dreamed - a popularity that filtered into every home in America and around the world. Thanks to the care, involvement and direction of his wife, Maria Cole, Unforgetttable is the first chronicle ever produced on this magnificent performer.

That voice is unforgettable!🎶 great piano player too!🎹🎶
His articulation of words, clear, concise an untouchable artist! None can compare with Mr. Nate King Cole black and beautiful! America 🇺🇸 wasn’t ready for his level of talent! He set a very high standard for singing and playing the piano, he was in a class by himself!
bravo!!!!bravo!!
I loved all his songs but I guess I liked Mona Lisa the best
America was ready. North America, Latin America, and Europe too. Only "Madison Avenue" wasn't ready. My "white" parents loved him and watched his television show religiously. I thought it odd that rhey did not like Louis Armstrong, who I personally found to be equally as engaging as Nat Cole.
🚬👴🏻🥃 SOOO HOWS YOUR MOTHER DOIN?
NAT...not Nate.
FANTASTIC DOCUMENTARY! PERIOD!
Beautiful man with a beautiful anointed voice!!!! 🤩🤩🤩💖💜💗💕🌞🌞🌞 Grew up listening to him; Mommy & Daddy’s 🎵 music💖💖💖‼️
Nat & Frank are my 2 favorite singers. No equals.
The Christmas song that Quincy Jones mentioned is probably my favorite song also by Nat King Cole.
What music Oscar Peterson told we would pick ? I didn´t understand the title.
Sweet Lorraine
Nice.👍👍👍👍🍸.
Man, what a smooth set of pipes. Incredible voice, not to mention an incredibly talented piano player. A very musically gifted human being. We are fortunate to enjoy his music, even to this day.
Nat Cole's voice was like Silk sliding on glass. I partially learned my correct diction from listening to Nat King Cole and Sam Cooke.
I would like an PICTURE OF THE MAN
@bernardtannerjr.6010ВАУ Nat,Sam Grand Vocal 🙏👍👍👍💯❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💕💕💕💕💕
Handsome, suave, well dressed and incredibly talented. 👌👍
"Unforgettable" is a timeless song so beautiful.
He was so damn smooth and talented ❤️
Nat King Cole was so special. Listen to a lot of what was popular pop music in his time then listen to him. He was so elegant, like on another plane of understanding.
John Fugazzi: Yes, "elegant" sums him up. Great word choice!
Nat King Cole was so so talented. His piano playing and singing were done effortlessly. Such a gracious man. He certainly left this world way too soon.
"THE CHRISTMAS SONG" PLAYING XMAS DAY AND XMAS EVE. AND MAMA IN THE KITCHEN, SWEATING OVER THE STOVE, UP ALL NIGHT COOKING PIES AND CAKE. GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE, SWEET POTATO PIE, POUND CAKE, PEACH COBBLER, AND CHRISTMAS DINNER. MY MOTHER WAS THE BEST COOK IN THE WORLD. REST IN PEACE MAMA & DADDY....LOVE AND MISS U BOTH xoxo
YOUR CHILDHOOD MEMORIES ARE VERY REFLECTIVE OF MY VERY OWN. THE QUINTESSENTIAL BLESSING IN LIFE; THE FAMILY ONE IS BORN INTO! GOD BLESS US, EVERYONE...

My father played Nat King Cole Christmas song every year.
I remember when I was young, my parents used to play this song at Thanksgiving, and back then, I didn't understand the importance of Nat King Cole until I was 11-years old. Now that I am older and a teenager, I play this song to remember those moments. This is the first song I play on Thanksgiving Day because it reminds me that Christmas is near. Thanks, Mom and Dad for playing this song! This is a very beautiful song and I am so glad that kids today can learn about Nat King Cole through this platform! God bless you, Mr. Nat King Cole, God bless you!
What a classy intelligent wonderful man he was,R.I.P Mr. Nat King Cole!
When I went away to college, I set my clock radio with tape player to wake me to Nature Boy every morning. I didn't realize he was so young when he died, but I do remember that it broke my heart when I realized I wouldn't hear any new songs from him. I ached for his family knowing what a special man has passed. I was so young when he was on TV and he shaped my life and my feelings throughout the civil rights movement and still today, the injustices burn my soul. I thank him for that and will for the rest of my life. He made me a better person.
Wow! How moving. Thanks!
8 yeah right
Yes l agree, l will always remember Nat King Cole for his for his unforgettable music. I love him ever so dearly. Thank you Nat King Cole for you and your lovely daughter Natalie Cole and your music.
BJ Speck: Bless you.
@@corriecrazy One of the kids I went to college with, stopped to help a woman on the side of the road with an overheated car. It turned out to be Mrs. Nat King Cole. You often never know the lives you touch but it makes a difference anyway. Thanks for letting me know.
My favorite singer of all time and I was a baby when he died. My Father had the Jet 1965 Memorial Issue. I found it when cleaning up a chest he had with things that were very important to him after he died. I have it and will cherish it always. The only other person that I will put up there with him are Prince, Ella, Whitney and the other Greats.
And the great Sam Cooke.
thank your reelblack for promoting good black culture.
His voice melts my heart ❤️
Maxfactor sure made a wrong call by not sponsoring Nat King Cole.
I saw him live in London in the 50’s once seen and heard never forgotten. A cliche but oh so true in Nat King Cole’s case a unique truly class act.
Thanks for this wonderful documentary. Nat and his wife were such beautiful people, inside and out. Nat was a remarkable pianist, amazing singer, naturally funny, and highly intelligent. I love this man so much. Nat's wonderful voice elicits the comforting feel of being wrapped in a warm blanket and drinking hot chocolate.
There were so many phenomenal artists in this video: Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, Ben Webster, Quincy Jones, Harry Belafonte, Ray Brown (a world-class bassist and also married to Ella Fitzgerald for six years), Eartha Kitt, Sammy Davis, Jr., and more. So much talent for which I remain grateful, as I listen to them regularly.
As great a singer as he was, Nat's variety show was canceled shortly after it first aired because advertisers refused to sponsor the show.
What a shame.
@@godlygirls62 That was a terrible shame. This quote seems fitting: "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Sadly, I don't expect it will ever change.
He did so many great songs, but was there ever a sadder song than Nat's rendition of "Autumn Leaves?"
Unfortunately, people are still afraid of the dark. We've come a long way but it's still detour, stop & do not enter signs scattered all along the way.
I really enjoyed this documentary. Nat Cole and Ella Fitzgerald were two of the most beautiful people ever!
Autumn Leaves is my favorite. Melts my heart like a glass of wine by an open fire.
I was three years old when this king died, but I hear his songs as if I lived in his time. Unforgettable, that's what he is.
SO
"Mona Lisa" was a popular song when I was born. My father had the record and would sing to me. It's one of my earliest memories. Brings a tear to my eyes every time I hear Nat King Cole singing that lovely song.
That was my favorite the 1st song of his I learned to play on the piano
SO

Autumn Leaves the most beautiful song IMO of All-time.
Nat King Cole. Even those three words are so right.
If I had to chose a greeting to other beings in the Universe it would be his voice I would want them to hear. Liquid , rich, clear and true.
Of more worth than the most priceless diamond, more magnificent than the highest mountain. A wonder of nature.
Thank you God for sharing him with us. I miss him. We all miss him.
Thank you for sharing this. Nat King Cole is my favorite male singer!
Natalie did an amazing duet of unforgettable with her father. Rip to both.
My dad used to sing just like him I miss you so much Daddy

He was deceased when she made it, a voice over recording 🤔
Incredible duet just awesome.
I'm a 44 yr old man, I no longer smoke cigarettes, me quitting smoking was because of this wonderful Vocalist died at 45 of cancer of the lungs!..I'm one week of none smoking cigarettes, and I'll never pick up another one!🚭❌🚫🛑⛔
Good for you! I am sure NKC smiles from heaven for each person giving up that awful habit.
A lovely man that had an amazing voice.
Just look at the roster of people they are interviewing...wow.
Thank you for the opportunity to see his history and life.
His beautiful voice will forever be remembered for our life time together right now here.
My grandmother was a huge fan of this very beautiful man. We both loved "THE CHRISTMAS SONG" . My personal favorite one is "UNFORGETTABLE" with his daughter , Natalie.
🚬👳🏻♂️🥃SHUT UP AND GET A JOB
Mona Lisa and When I fall in Love were my Mum's favourites. The old gals in the Gin factory used to call for out for my mum to sing Mona Lisa to them when a young woman. We used to say about Nat "A voice as rich and smooth as velvet" been a fan all my life. He was a special person.
Nat King Cole had the smoothest voice of all time. Straight up butter..
Who Didn't Love The King 10 2020
Just make you wonder how God can create someone so beautiful. His voice absolutely made him beautiful, but it was also the outside packaging that was beautiful, too. A voice smooth as velvet. Then had a daughter, Natalie, a twin of himself. God sure knows what He's doing when He matches folks up, because you can tell by the fruits they bear.
The look on Nat king coles face when he realises it’s ‘ this is your life’.8:19
😂😂😂😂😂priceless!!!!!!!!!!!
Remarkable, remarkable musician. Can't even begin to explain how much. We never deserved that genius.
Loved HIM❤
Hey, Reelblack I wanted to thank you all so very much for posting this insightful documentary chronicling the life and career of the legendary Mr. Nat King Cole. I have been a fan of Nat's since Christmas Day 2004. I look forward to seeing what you post next.
My deceased mother turned me on to Nat King Cole, Sam Cooke, and Dean Martin. She taught to me an appreciation for beautiful music.
Had Sam Cooke lived he maybe would have been the greatest of all time. As equally gifted as a producer, prolific song writer, talent scout, and entrepreneur as he was a one of a kind musical vocalist. These two men deserve a first rate film biography.
Agreed, Bernard Tanner Jr.
I Love These Documentary love and Respect All The Way From 🇩🇴 #DominicanRepublic #RiP Nat King Cole 🙏🏽💯✌🏽
Everyone come out for the funeral but they didn't want to sponsor him
I loved all the nat albums.
My aunt played Mr Nat King Cole’s music on her record player. I was young but I understood the pleasing sounds from that disc of wax. I’d put my ear to the speaker absorbing every drop. RIP, Sir.
Incredible documentary on a gifted musical icon. Though my mom was always a fan, I grew to love his music and play it often. Within a two month period of January-February of 65' we lost three of my icons in different genres, Lorraine Hansberry, Nat 'King' Cole and Malcolm X.
I love Nat King Cole... 2 of my favorite songs are (IMPOSSIBLE) and (THAT SUNDAY THAT SUMMER)
Nat is the greatest jazz singer of all time his songs I have some of his real acapellas on my channel it really shows off his pure natural baritone I love just love his voice he kind of reminds me of Luther Vandross because Nat could stand in one spot without even dancing and sing so smooth without yelling or screaming on the microphone and would have the whole crowd in love with him speaking of Nat King Cole I might try to post up some more Nat King Cole's real acapellas on my channel
Amazing footage of such a talented and wonderful and extremely good looking man! At 31.38 point in the video is very upsetting to see the racism he suffered. He should have got alot more credit.
a wonderful voice. a real gent. and he brought a world of people together.
....and boy did he love Cuba and Cuban Music. He was The Greatest ever.

If I can hear a voice like Nat King Cole today???? I would have no reason to listen to anyone else's voice. PRICLESS
Nat King Cole and Jim Reeves master singers
Beautiful silky voice...easy on the ears ..
Easy on the eyes too !!!!
Unforgettable and Mona Lisa are also 2 of my favorite songs by Nat King Cole.
I love listening to Nat King Cole, his voice was like Velvet, What a Singer!!!

She was quite a woman classy & sassy her father was a class act they both belong in the hall of fame of popular music
The year Nat passed , the Ice Capades did a beautiful tribute on ice . I was a young teenager and overwhelmed with having lost this icon.
My "Goat" @ 4:25 is when you see what a humble man he be. His face always showed his emotions. His expression @ 15:27 Damn he liked that. ☺
I recorded this late 80's on VHS on PBS during a telethon. Bad Quality This recording has some additional information. I can't stop grinning. Be Safe 07/04/20

My favorites are, When I fall in Love, Mona Lisa, Here's that Rainy Day....
My memories go back to the late 50"s when I attended his concert in the iconic Amsterdam Concertgebouw. First heard him sing as a Teenager in Indonesia, on old shellac records. My fav was Mona Lisa because I was also in love with someone with that name. Hearing him life was MAGIC!!!
Omg!!! You saw him in real life??
Mr. Cole's in the house! RIP sir.
Growing up around the ankles of my grandfather I found myself listening and loving music from this era. In fact, my first boyhood crush was for Eartha Kitt. #classicovershare. The 80's to the mid 90's seemed to weigh heavily in favor of light skin and curly hair. Whereas the majority of Nat's era seemed to be filled with dark complected artists that "got the girl." So, as a child, I would escape my reality by daydreaming that I was as smooth, eloquent and sophisticated as these artists and actors.
Ahhh, love💘 the Guy into eternity; he lives in our hearts. 💕
This is incredible. KE-MO-KI-MO was our family song also.
I have a 1940's glass record of the song by Nat, but sadly, it broke. I've saved it all these years hoping someone could repair it.
I have that 78 removed. It was included in the 1948 three record set "King Cole For Kids".
In the summer of 1983 I took a yacht cruise on the Aegean Sea. Late one evening I curled up in one of the canvas sails, turned on my walkman and listened to Nat King Cole sing, "Stardust". The sky was so full of stars that night, and I was rather full inside thinking to myself what a privilege to be here in this wonderful part of the world listening to this wonderful singer and song on such a glorious night. Without Nat the experience would not have been half as gratifying. This 18 plus years after his demise, what a legacy he left us -- in so many ways. 5/2020
Yacht cruise, Aegean Sea, Nat King Cole's Stardust..., Got it! I will put this on my budget list.....
@@telam1744 It was a good time for me, and I was simply sharing the memory of it . Why does it appear you have made your life so miserable that you can't be happy for someone's pleasant memory (of something that happened 48 years ago) and who is in a wheelchair today for the rest of his life.

Nat King Cole is A LEGEND for as long as there's music or as long as a music industry exists!!... Pure LEGEND for all times ♥️🌹♥️🌹🙏🙏🙏
"Route 66" is my mother's fav. 🤗
Natalie Cole was so beautiful.
Love nat king cole would like to perform a debut in his honor
Go for it❤
I'm happy to know from this terrific documentary that Nat King Cole was such a success with his work. Though anybody who had friends like Harry Belafonte, Frank Sinatra, Quincy Jones and Dean Martin must've had great connections. And how many record companies can refer to their head office as "The House that Nat built"?
I grew up in a small pacific northwest town during the height of Nat's fame. Late 1950's - early 1960's. It seemed to me a wonderful American era. My grandfather had one of the only swimming pools around. Due to the chilly climate we could only use it about two months of the year. But in those two months my family took that backyard and pool to heart. There were the grownups around the barbecue doing burgers and ocean fish, the ladies sitting together in lawn chairs, everybody drinking beer while we kids plied our rubber ducky floatables through the currents of that pool ... while "Lazy, Hazy Days Of Summer" rang out through outdoor speakers over the scene. I thought that if this was how much fun it was to be a grownup, I had a lot to look forward to. Then I grew up and moved away to much larger towns ... where I discovered that life and the world was more dicey that I thought..
Thank you for posting this. I have his show on DVD but not a biography.
wonderfull hommage to this truly unique artist...one of america's icons of the 20th century..Nat King Cole !!
