  • I got my first saddle in 2018 and slowly upgraded to what you see here. The aider and bag are from Eastern woods outdoors. Thanks for watching.

The dump pouches I use on my setups can be found cheap on amazon amzn.to/3i2fXHw. If you're interested, use my link and I will get a small percentage from whatever you buy. Thanks to everyone for watching, and thanks for your support. Good luck this season....

In your honest opinion which do you think is more comfortable the saddle or the hang on stand I’m in the dilemma of trying to figure out which one I think is more comfortable I have both stands?

It all comes down to personal preference. Personally, I prefer a two-panel saddle for comfort and versatility. I have the John Eberhart Signature Saddle manufactured by Terhrd. John has been saddle hunting for many decades.

I should have gone with a two panel saddle for versatility but either way having both as option is best cuz there’s different benefits and drawbacks to each depending on that days hunt. I find myself using a hybrid setup 90% of the time for bow and that’s cuz with compound saddle alone is great but with trad bow I need to be more disciplined form wise so I need a reg stand. What I’ve gone to is a WindWalker (as small as a LWCG .5) stand 5lbs and a saddle as safety harness. The seats are super ruff for me all day sits so when I need butt break I lean into saddle or move tether high and sit sideways slightly above folded up seat but the stand is just big enough to allow me to shoot my trad bow and maintain my base on the stand. I thought big saddle platform would work but just doesn’t pack as neat in my system and having tether up for leaning and sitting falls in wrong spot for my trad bow. Compound is easier as it doesn’t require me to have a solid a base so I can get away with either using just top of last stick or fold seat up entire time and use just platform of stand and with a gun I truly only use my top stick and like this video shows as I have same one I put 2 steps in different spots around tree and I dangle using my bridge as my brace. Hybrid though 90% of time and it’s truly cuz it fits most of my needs. Would like a .5 though as it’s wildly adjustable which my 30yr old WindWalker isn’t quite as much.

Nice, I use the same dump pouch as you. Is that the ultimaider you are using? I am thinking of replacing my DIY aider with that, looks like it is fairly decent. Hey, can you link the back step opposite your platform that you are using?

Yes, It's definitely worth the money, I've been through several different aiders, and this is by far my favorite.

Thanks for the video! your honest opinion which do you think more comfortable the saddle or a hang on stand I’ve watched both of your videos I’m kind of torn between the two myself?

Saddle, once you put some time in one, your legs have to be used to standing, your feet may hurt the first week or so. It's not just automatically better. But, it lets you change the angle your weight is being distributed along your hips, back and rearend. A stand you can only really lean on your other cheek haha. But, if you get a saddle, make sure you get something you can easily adjust your bridge in every way, and your tether easily also, or you'll be in the same boat. I still prefer to hunt from my stand most of the time, but I do use both. A saddle comes in very handy if you take a new hunter out. I've been using it this year on the back side of my son's tree(he's young, first year hunting). Either one is great, but I would have to say saddle is more comfortable.

Now if you ask me which I prefer to hunt from, stand.

This is my first year hunting from a saddle, and I would agree that it’s more comfortable. I alternate about 50/50 between sitting, and leaning. The first upgrade I made after my first few hunts was a Mini-knee Pro from TX 5 Custom Gear, so that I could comfortably rest my knees on the tree while sitting. Knee pads would be in the way of the cargo pockets on my hunting pants.
