    MY GAWD that is a beautiful ship! Both large and elegant at the same time and with proportions that are perfect and far exceed anything JJ Abrams or any of the movie studios have been able to come up with. Fantastic job!

    Great job Cap'n..Commander...and Mario.
    USS Grau looks like an amazing ship. I love the idea
    of Mission Control for away missions. And neat to have
    secondary shuttle bay have dedicated turbo lift to bridge.
    I am sure if Dr Evil had temporarily taken over this ship he
    would make use of Captains yacht to make his escape.

    That observation deck seems like a really good multipurpose use of space. I like the concept, especially on a ship, where space is at a premium.

    A very interesting ship, especially, since we usually only see the "Best" designs that are most popular in starfleet and stay in service for a long time in large numbers. But we all know, it's common for our real world to have prototypes and new designs built for the military or other purposes, that finally prove not as efficient or useful as originally planned and get put aside or never get mass produced. starfleet would certainly have these kind of design-experiments too and the uss grau might be a very cool example for this!

    I wish I had the technical knowledge to do the ship modeling and 3d design on a computer but I am limited to graph paper and balsa wood models. such a shame JJ didn't use something like this ship for his movies. She's a sexy boat and looks like a great half-step between classic and the beginnings of the trend toward TNG era lines. Also, I really enjoy the observation deck feature. It works great for any planetary observation type missions.

    yet another beautiful fan made ship id like to see sto do say a fan pack were you can buy fanmade ships or atleast incorporate there design aesthetically. and what was said about the hanger doors i could just imagine a vulcan engineer observing it and saying "i dont like the doors" and it being set aside for the excelsior.

    This is a cool design, gentlemen!
    The secondary hull shape is reminiscent of a hand phaser.
    I really like the dedicated turboshaft to the small, saucer shuttle bay. Does the lift car go around, below, or "through" the dome of the impulse deflection crystal?

    I would love to see a TV show featuring Enterprise C as the main ship. We get to see so little of her, and there are twelve years of history to tell. Rachel Garrett seemed like a pretty damn good captain, and it would be another chance to have the CO be a female.

  • @terifarley4770
    @terifarley4770 7 лет назад

    Dang, people whip these 3D designs out fast! My model won't be done before NASA actually gets FTL completed in reality!
    I see both the original and the Cockings mods, being both operational designs. Both cool, can't choose! Sweet nacelles for sure, remind me of the Ulysses class nacelles. The prototype Galaxy class deflector dish reminds me of some fan or game design called Tommy Lehto class, I've seen way back.

  • @dreamingsamurai
    @dreamingsamurai 9 лет назад

    Love the overall design. Have no problems with the struts at all. My main quibble is the secondary hanger bay being right underneath the impulse engines. Does this mean it's only in use when the ship is at rest?

  • @SIG442
    @SIG442 9 лет назад

    I like the over all shape, it fits nicely between several ships in. Although it gives me for some odd reason a Galaxy idea, specially if you look at 12:05 (top ship model). This makes me believe it could be a slimmer and squished pre-Galaxy. Specially with the insane number of windows added to that. Use the skin of the bottom one on the top ship and it will look a hell lot better. Those pylons look rather awkward in my mind, yes the side view does look nice, but there is no single ship in the Federation fleet that has something like that. It would be better to have swiped back pylons.
    If it was to be a STO ship, it should have there for both versions seen at 12:05 so that you could customize it the way you wish. Those awful looking torpedo launchers at the neck may need to be as optional thing. This ship does not feel 'complete' yet. Not sure why, but it just gives me that feeling.

  • @Dreadtothink
    @Dreadtothink 9 лет назад

    Wow its always amazing to see people design starships. Respectfully i think i prefer the original version i think the bottom of the secondary hull is a touch too bolus. the torpedo tubes are too boxy and are in conflict with the rest of the curvaceous nature of the design. The secondary shuttle bay is very practical but could use a bit more refinement with better integration into the saucer section, i think it needs to be wider matching the circumference of the saucer. But otherwise i really like what you have done. i love the deflector, the warp engines, the general overall shape. It does remind me of the USS lexington from KA

    Hey! You missed the Ent C in your opening animation???!!! Instead going from the B to the D. Speaking of which this design kinda reminds me of proberts original Ent C, I think it's the engineering hull that reminds me of it the most...

      @Trekyardswebseries  9 лет назад +1

      +Fox Piano we also did not show the 1701 classic, the animation was not to show all of the Enterprises in order...just show the ones we had seen in some kind of Drydock!

  • @Lokiawa

    I don't think my opinion(s) would be welcomed by the designer but;
    My biggest bug about it is the antenna on the dish, why? it honestly doesn't look like it'd be Motion Picture era but more of late TOS and pre-TMP, that's what I see. Aside from the tactical error of the observation deck it looks interesting, it just inspired me to add something into my personal ship.
    I'm not really a fan of the overall design/look of the struts they just look out of place compared to the ship, sure as Drexler would say "ape brain" but the way the struts connect to the nacelles just looks strange, probably because my designer personality is screaming to move the connections toward the middle of the nacelles.
    The deflector dish kinda makes me think it'd be the Enterprise-C era, but since it is a DS ship it'd make since for a big dish.
    I do find the ship design inspiration funny, and that was interesting that Sam' helped with the ship.

    I must say, awesome design. However, I don't think the secondary shuttlebay was done particularly well. It looks a bi out of place and tacked-on, and it kinda sticks out since the rest of that area is very aerodynamic and smooth. Other than that, great design!

    The young dude needs to slow down when he's reading. Can't understand him hardly. lol. Captain Mustache is a way better speaker.
    Cool design though. Is this to insinuate that there couldn't have been different classes of explorer for Starfleet at this time period? Seems like the fan-made "history" talked about here indicates Starfleet only wanted 1 class of mainline explorer, when later (TNG) it seems like there are at least a few.

    I don't like the engineering section, it looks pregnant! The slimmer design fit the ship's overall sleekness. The curved struts go with the flow of the overall design.
