No, the worst case scenario for Wishclaw Talisman is you play it and activate it and your son who's been dead for ten days starts knocking on the door.
4 years later and this comment has me cackling at 11:30 in the evening
I've never played Can-Lander but this show is always appointment viewing
Me too, exactly
Wish I could afford Canlander :(
@@Jedicake You can! Proxy some stuff up with your friends. It might not get you into store sanctioned games but you can start brewing and having fun with friends.
Edward Burke same mate.
“Jer says no, Alex says maybe, Ben says yes” is accurate for about 90% of their evaluations
Where's the lie, though? 90% of Jer's evaluations are "I don't think this is relevant".
Would Charming Prince go into Liam's charms deck?
idk, doesn't have flash
@@brannantisdale815
Thats paparazzi, I'm not sure instant speed is a requirement for charms.
"Activate Witch's Talisman"
"In response Idiot Bird"
"Activate Talisman."
"In response, flash in Aven Mindcensor."
I want to make a joke about Syr Konrad making mill viable, but I can't think of anything that doesn't make it seem like I actually believe it.
While the spoiler season was happening, I was already thinking about this episode! KAKA
"As the premier lands deck player of the format" 😂 gets me everytime, especially when it gets into other LRR streams lol
But Fae of Wishes--when are we going to get wish boards, so I can play my junk drawer goozlers
Alex going deep with the Monty Python and the Holy Grail ref in this episode and im not even a minute in its beautiful
Part one of X, where X is the number of playables I see.
34:47
Something I want to point out about Charming Prince is that it flickers a creature you own, not one you control, so it has incidental additional upside of being able to get back a creature that's been Mind Controlled. Pretty narrow, but still cool!
Thalia is a frog horror because she was eaten by the gitrog
Yarlia
Tribal Artifact - Frog Food
I know it's not the episode for it, but until yesterday afternoon I hadn't twigged that the common cycle of lands are fetchable.
I then spent the rest of the day tilting about how good mystic sanctuary is.
Fetchlands need to be reprinted not made better.
Back to the multi-part set reviews, I see... More to see from my Highlander-y bois
The only person who didn't crack a smile at "Vroom Zooms" was Jer. StoneFace God
Wait he got him to grin at the "They Might Be Giants" quip
Been waiting all week for this. Don’t know why when I don’t play Canlander.
It's not a card, but I was curious if the "second card on each turn" text is worth a little more, mostly for Blue, since it can also trigger if you draw two cards on your opponent's turn.
Yet again I demand more jrhwhite content, and also say please. Great stuff gents as always
Vantress Gargoyle is going to do fun stuff in standard but only because graveyard play isn't nearly as strong there as it is in other formats. It's going to be a bomb in limited.
Outside of those I don't see it doing anything.
Have already killed plenty people with it on MtG:A though.
I love this podcast so much

But seriously, stonecoil serpent? Seems like a slam dunk for Workshop weenie.
The only other one that comes to mind is Thrill of Possibility. At instant speed, the card could be good enough to have reanimater, or dredge applications. Alongside Anje Falkenrath, Cathartic Reunion, and Anje's Ravager, I think a RB creature reanimation deck could be pretty cool- not to mention all the sweet reanimation targets you could get from red.
Wait...?
Did Ben do the recording for the 'Honk' in the end slate for the Crapshots?
Naw that was me
Well, props to Ben for imitating it perfectly.
Specter's Shriek is way better than Unmask, because you get the information before pitching the card, you can pitch nonblack cards and sometimes, you don't have to pitch something at all. Still not sure if it's better than Cabal Therapy though.
So this might still be too cute but could Syr Konrad work in a combo deck in the vain of Hermit Druid. If you mill your deck, cheat him out, and then exile, shuffle away, or reanimate the rest of the creatures in the grave you win if you have 20 creatures in there. Or you can cheat him out first and then mill your deck. Basically the fact that he hits people whenever a creature goes in or out of your grave from anywhere seems abuseable.
Rewatching out of curiosity after all the bannings have made eldraine the objectively strongest block since Urzas saga.
I did sort of have an idea about a deck that made rat tokens, which makes Ayara really damn good since rat tokens are always black and can be produced really quickly.
Of course, that doesn't really make the rest of the deck great.
This is me interacting with the algorithm.
Had some problems with finding this in my podcast feed, but it was great as usual when I found it.
Also gave me an excuse to watch the video :p
I picked up a copy of that Dovin for like $3 so I would agree with it not seeing much play
Hypnotic Sprite is a general M:TG flavor fail, because it doesn't have any sort of hand attack.
umm *(pushes up glasses)* I think you're forgeting about goblin rock sled... :P
They call me Dr.Worm
I'm curious what everyone's opinion is on Foulmire Knight. like, is a 1/1 deathtouch for a single black that you could also use as a draw spell good, or is the adventure too expensive and/or the creature not good enough? would it even make it into Alex's zombie deck, if nothing else?
I think part of the issue is you need to cast the Adventure first to have access to it, so you're looking at a 1/1 Deathtouch on 4+ or never realistically seeing the draw a card half. If you want something to get you value, Night's Whisper and Sign in Blood are just a better rate for cards.
Rules question about KCI + Wishclaw Talisman: can I sac the talisman to pay for it's own ability?
Not sac in response, but activate KCI to pay for the 1, tap... part.
I know mana abilities are weird, but are they this weird?
No, because Wishclaw Talisman is already in your graveyard before the mana enters your pool.
Every single time I see Venerable Knight, I always seem to fall in love with the flavor. This card shows the end of an epic tale and the start of another.
I find myself wanting to know the story of these two characters. It's really great!
Oh, and the card ain't to shabby either.
I think you guys are sleeping on Midnight Clock as an academy card
What about Midnight clock? could be played?
0:22 GET THE GOOSE!
Love the content, wish I had more highlander players near me
A comment! Thanks for all the good good mtg content!
Could you guys talk about Midnight Clock?
"North 100: a podcast covering cards that will be released in a format we play but have a hard time talking about"
Does Hushbringer go into Aristocrats though?
Engaging = fun
Man, Prowl looking strong in this set.
it's been a while since hidden horror
If you Shepherd of the Flocks ability on Feather....?
You choose when it resolves whether it gets exiled On An Adventure or to Feather. Then you go from there as normal (either you have access to the creature or it returns to your hand)
What archetype is Sorensen? I can't find anything online
In short; MiracleGro. Play small creatures that get more powerful, protect them and disrupt the enemies plan while beating them with bigger and bigger threats.
A version of tempo, that is named for a local player in the Victoria community.
Benjamin "Whatever It May Be" Wheeler
I am engaging with this video.
As a tribal deck does anyone play canlan slivers and of so, what colors would it be?
It would almost certainly be all 5 colors so you can play the 5C slivers.
They don’t because it tends to be overcosted and inefficient. In the past they’ve said that if you want to play a tribal deck you should do one that doesn’t require rainbow lands and is cheaper.
It'd be 5 colors, and while not yet a "real" deck there are a few people who would like to see it get there and have tinkered with lists a bit
When are we gonna get Part 2?
What is a seinfeld deck i dont find anything on it online
It's a Blue deck that just plays a bunch of counter spells and very few actual win conditions. So it's a deck that "does nothing", and Seinfeld is known as "the show about nothing".
"They Might Be Giants"
Stolen by the fae is just a worse entrancing mellody, which also isn't good
WOO, I'm one of the 4!
This podcast is now officially a set review podcast.
Yea i want more non set rewive episodes.
@@swiftdragonrider I wish they would review past sets like amonkhet and hour of devastation.
@@hellsingfan89 i wana hear them talk about the format in general.
@@swiftdragonrider I kind of agree with you but I just love hearing their thoughts on cards more.
Its a bummer that they cut down on the number of pods they do. I understand they have other stuff going on, but they really dont have time for other stuff anymore :(
This is great
Ni!!!

This is the first video of yours that I've seen but I'm pretty sure the dude on the far right doesn't like the dude who has the longer hair and glasses haha
Categorically incorrect
any chance that someone can tell me the name of the song in the intro?
Are they going to cover the common and rare land cycles at the end of the review? I’d really like to see what Jer thinks of Castle Ardenvale in UW. The blue common on is cool too.
