Driven one last week , absolutely rapid I thought. It was quick with or without charge I felt no difference Easily better than an Audi Q3 I tried before it and a friends xc60 Volvo. Surprised you preferred the German cars. It was 45k not 50k too high spec. Had 10 miles charge when I drove it which it lasted for approx. Sat in a 60k Q5 and this felt more special inside. My commute is 31miles which means I would only use Ev and save a lot. As you can guess I ordered one.
Yup.. had a stream of Audi's - between my wife and I an 80, A4 1.9Tdi Avant (bulletproof) , A2, A1 (did not like it that much) an A6 3.0 Tdi Avant quattro (always a bit disappointed with it's performance) , A6 all road BiTdi (amazing car - fast economical, sounded great). Got a Maserati Levante S right now but need to get sensible.... Test drove a CX-60 and it was lovely. Great build quality, rides pretty much as well as the Levante (which has air suspension), handled very well.. I ordered one.
Great review, popular misconception is that the vehicle will lose half its power when the battery drains but it doesn’t. If keeps about 10% off the battery at which point it works like a Prius would (for example) so “self charged” until it can be charged up again. I know because I have one.
I’ve always liked Mazdas and their designs. I just find it frustrating that they are so reluctant to go down the turbocharging route. Their petrol engines cars drive really well but have no torque so need to be thrashed to make good progress. Still, this looks a really well designed alternative to the usual suspects. Maybe an alternative to the Volvo XC60?
Mark, Would like to see a video with direct comparisions to X3, GLC, Q5. Price, Comfort, Quietness, Ambience, Material, Space, etc. Spec's are all on a brouchure. Thanks in Advance!
I’m seriously considering one, love all the reviews… I think I saw one that said it is touch screen but only when on apple carplay?? I could be talking nonsense though….
Well done BMW. A real return to form. A decent looking car (like the kink), rwd and just sporty enough, stunning, well built and useable interior (hats off to the latest idrive version), a decent powertrain. And...... and a not-hideous face. Well done BMW, well done. I'm not joking either. Shove a propeller on the front and it's audience would lap this up.
I've got one. I really like it but it's not without it's issues and niggles. The way I use it after about 7500 miles my average fuel consumption is 75mpg and slowly going up but I have a wall box and I keep the battery topped up. Plus it really is rapid.
Great review as always Test drove this new Mazda myself and was sadly not impressed. Totally agree suspension is too harsh. Way too heavy in general and just boring in EV mode. Boring at this price point is not terrific. way more fun in sport mode but then what happens w trying to save fuel? The transmission felt strange. The MX-30 smoothness and zen like quality is on a permanent lunch break in this Mazda. Yeah it kind of sxxks....

Mark. The man with the never ending wardrobe. We need a full guided tour of his wardrobe! Oh, and the car reviews aren't too bad either.
Finally, a reviewer who gets the fact that people who buy PHEV SUVs dont buy them for their ability to go fast round corners...

Their interiors are great. This looks a bit big for me, but I can see the appeal.

My Homura is landing next week. Black on Black. The non-touch screen on the move will take some getting used to. Another excellent review

I think this looks like a very impressive product inside and out. Would take this anyday over a more obvious 'yawn fest' German SUV.

I think you said you got 36 miles per gallon on highway after electric... That ain't too damn bad for a midsize SUV!!
36mpUKg (imperial gallon) = 30mpUSg
@@robbillington3594 I get your point, but still isn’t bad either. Let’s take a look at how a BMW/Audi/Merc equivalent PHEV mid-size SUV would do
Thanks for the video
I can’t believe that adaptive cruise control is an option on all trims. Looks like they’re learning more from the Germans than first thought.
Really? I don't get that. Adaptive cruise is standard on some CX-5 models.
@@jdmguy44 Exactly, complete rip off.
It already looks and feels 10 years old
Doesn't it have a charge facility as you drive along, both BMW and Volvos have a charge button which is selected at start up.
It looks like a shortened Toyota Highlander, BUT BETTER looking 👍
How much is it
Who can take anyone seriously who has mutilated their body like that? "What, I didn't get the job?" lol
But the job I got is the one you’re commenting on, so… 😳
Thanks for your contribution though. Much love. Mark x ❤️
Hi Mark, I really love your videos.
But, ...
... when you do the voiceover, the background music is really intrusive.
Still a fan though 😉
🆒️💯✔
This guy complains about 6.3l/100km ? Wow he said that’s not fuel efficient with the battery depleted? Aaii
He may have been refering to the imperial metric of 36mpg (UK) , which translates to only 30mpg (US) , thus yielding 7.85l/100km
Great review as always

Yeah it kind of sxxks....
Driving any car economically is boring though.
Needs bigger wheels ...
Why? Style over substance... Bigger wheels = worse fuel / EV economy Plus you kerb them and the rubber costs a fortune to replace,
✔
No touching cloth joke very disappointed 😆😆
Why is man driving it wearing clowns clothes and covered in drawings
*clown’s. Clown’s clothes. I fixed it for you. 😁❤️
Well done Mark. Ignore these pillocks...
