Last week's "What's Up Wednesday" video, showing the clapper in use and various ironing tips:
• What's Up Wednesday #7...
Hello and welcome to my Sunday Tutorial! Today, I'll show you one method for sewing a "Crazy Quilt Block." There are many methods and this is just "my" way of making them.
In the video, I'll show you how to take some scraps of strips and a 5-sided center piece of scrap to sew a beautiful block together. You could sew quite a few and make a quilt, or sew two to create a beautiful tote bag. If you only sew one, turn it into a pillow! You can create so many different items with a versatile Crazy Block, as well as work on your scrap pile at the same time!
Thank you so much for watching, commenting and sharing.

Great flower scrap block...
Hi Karen! I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Tis the season for spring flowers and May showers!!
Hi Sue! Here in northern Maine, we’re definitely having showers!
I love the “flower” and the colors you chose with it…awesome…
Thank you! ❤️ 🌼
Flower . Those would make a beautiful quilt !
Hi Ella! yes, they certainly would! I love scrap quilts... well, let's face it, I'm obsessed with scraps, lol. Shhhhh, don't tell ;-)
Beautiful quilt block!! Love the flower in the middle! Love Pioneer Women fabric❤️🌺
Thank you! Yes, her fabric is beautiful, isn’t it?
I have to say, for someone so new to making RUclips videos, you’re doing an amazing job. Your lighting is great, camera angles great, instructions clear and not over-stated, and yay for fast forwarding your repetitious sewing tasks! It’s no wonder your channel is growing so quickly. And of course, the flower in the middle is a great starting block.
Hi Joan! Thank you so much! Your thoughtful comment and encouragement is so sweet! I do try, so I'm glad that my hard work doesn't go unnoticed. I loved the flower, too! ;-) Thanks for watching and commenting! I'll see you on Wednesday!
Marie: excellent tutorial using your flower as the center of that scrappy creation🤔👏👏👏❤️😀
Thanks, Rachel. You're very thoughtful to say so! Take care!
Thank you for showing me how to use scrapy flowers another way to ma,make, easy fun quilts.
Hi Pat! You’re so welcome. Thank you for watching and commenting! Happy Easter!
Love your crazy quilt with the flower in the center.
Thanks so much! I appreciate you watching and dropping by to comment. Happy sewing!
Eye candy! Made me smile! Very pretty block(s)!!!
Hello Lesa! Thanks so much for the compliment and for watching and commenting! I can’t believe how many others there are who love scraps and eye candy as much as I do!
I forgot to mention l really like how you outlined the flower in that block!😁 And thank you for the kind reply in my first post...you are so sweet!
Aw, you’re so welcome Tracy! It’s so good to read all your comments. Thank you for all your support, it truly means a lot to me! I appreciate you watching my videos and taking the time to comment. 🥰
This is great! My grandson loves hexagons. I'm going to try to make him potholder starting with a hexagon. He is 12 and has his own personal pot, utensils, and dishes for when he makes his own meals. Hexagons are the bestagons!
Ooooh, hexagons! A friend of mine said she was given a bunch of hexagons and wasn’t sure what to do with them. I’m not big on working with them so I told her to have fun, ha ha. I think that’s great that your grandson has such an interest in cooking, etc. My dad was a chef, so I think when men cook, it’s fabulous!
I'm new to your site but not to quilting. However it's been a while. My desire to jump back in your is definitely FLOWERing!!
Hi Lulu! Until this past week, it had been over a year since I'd sewn a quilt. I've been busy sewing scraps into all kinds of projects. I'm so glad you found me (I'm new, too!) and that your interest in getting back to quilting is "FLOWERing" ;-) Thanks for playing! ;-)
Love the red flower in your crazy block.
Oh thank you! Thanks for watching!
Sew a seed, you can grow a flower!.Sew a quilt and you grow memories.Im new to your site, but lol i love your calmness. My daughter and I have a life time of scraps, and I recently started making Pot holders WOW! You are a pro! Have a great Easter!
Hello Lorraine - my best friend's name is Lorraine, too! You are so kind, that was such a sweet sentiment to share with me - thank you! I'm glad you found me. Aw, I love to hear about you and your daughter saving (and I assume, sewing?) scraps! I appreciate your visit and comment and thank you, I hope you have a great Easter, as well!
Marie, I just found your channel and have been binge watching while I make Christmas stockings for my daughter and her family. Am posting my comment on an older post but loving what I am seeing so far. I love scrappy and you do an awesome job of sharing your talent. I am in sunny Florida where we have had a few cool nights in the 50s. We consider that jacket weather so I can't imagine Maine weather. Marie is a family name for us so love your name. Will be looking forward to more of your posts. Thank you so much for sharing.
Welcome to my channel! Making Christmas talking sounds very fun! I made up a stack of them 3 or 4 years ago. I put fur at the top of some of them. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment!
The flower make an attractive center.
Hi Janet! Thanks so much. I thought so, too! Thanks for watching and playing along in the game!
Excellent tutorial!! Thank you. I have been given 6 bags of Disney Scraps. Can't wait to get started.
Ooooh, Disney scraps... that's going to be adorable!!!!!
Enjoyed your flower crazy block.
Hi Kimberly! Thanks so much!
I know just the flower that I am going to use. My granddaughter has Cystic Fibrosis. They use the theme 65 Roses because little children can't say Cystic Fibrosis. She turns 25 in August and I always look for anything I can for her to help her go through her treatments. I have some flower fabric that I will start each center with. She will love it. Thanks for the change up to log cabin.
That is an absolutely beautiful idea, I love it! Yours is the most heartfelt that I have heard. Thank you so much for sharing that with me!
Marie, I just love your way of just going with the moment. Your friend from New Mexico, Carla 🎶 💖 💐
Awww, how sweet - thank you for your comment, Carla! I was just thinking that when I filned this particular video, I was still kind of nervous about explaining things. I'm glad you enjoy my content and I appreciate your taking the time to comment !
Marie, you are the flower in my garden....
Such a sweet comment ❤️
How wonderful would it be to make a quilt with crazy quilt blocks that all framed a flower in the middle! This was the first of your videos I have watched and I am new to quilting. Ha! I just realized this video was from awhile ago. still a wonderful block!
I love quilts made with crazy blocks. I think they're gorgeous and so colorful! It's ok that this is an older video. I still see and read all the comments. Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to stop and leave me a comment. It means a lot. Happy sewing!
Thanks I have made lots of quilts but never tried the crazy quilt. I plan to try one real soon.
Good morning Shirley! I love crazy quilts and I think that they're fun to make. So many different designs from all the scraps. Happy sewing!
Love crazy blocks. Can't wait for your crumb blocks video!!! Keep going!!!!
Hi Brenda! I hope to do it soon. I’m only trying to space things out, so I’m not doing all one type of project. So, I vary between bags, blocks, etc. I also try to vary the degree of difficulty, too. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I love , your explanation is so clear.... thanks
Thank you, Rosa! I'm glad you found it helpful!
Love the idea of using up all your leftover threads.
Hello Rebecca! Yes, I love making any kind of scrap blocks because I get to use up all my odds and ends of partially used spools and bobbins full of whatever color thread there is in my box. Something about using those up is so satisfying to me. Thank you for dropping by and commenting!
I love this block ! really like the flower "eye candy"!
Thanks, Sharon! I love lots of eye candy!
I enjoyed video for using scraps with the flower as the center piece. Thank you.
Thelma
You are very welcome, Thelma! Thank you so much for watching, and taking the time to comment to me, it means a lot. Take care!
Loved your pop of flower scrappy block. This is the first time I have seen your video. I am expecting company for Easter so my plans are to clean house and cook, but now I am too excited about making scrappy blocks! Therefore, think I will turn on my machine and make blocks. I will clean tomorrow!!! Maybe. 😂 Love your video, thanks for sharing.
Hi Dorothy! You know what they say - "Housework can wait, sewing can't." Oh wait, maybe they don't say that, but they should! LOL!!! I have to step away from the sewing machine today and get some things done too. Don't you just hate it when life gets in the way of sewing? ha ha!
I'm glad you found me (I'm a new RUclipsr) and I appreciate you watching and commenting. Happy Easter!
I loved watching your video today. I make a lot of crazy quilts. Many years ago my first one was all hand sewn-I must have ben "crazy". I use to hand quilt the blocks with crochet cotton and herringbone stitch. Now I machine stitch with different colours and zig zag. Love the flower theme .
Hello Maxine! Oh I just love to hear about crazy quilts! If you’re on Facebook, please feel free to join our Facebook group, it’s called “Marie’s Scrappy Creations.” It’s a fairly new group, but we have a great group of people going already. People share pictures of their projects and it’s so good to see everyone and what everyone is working on. Thank you so much for watching, commenting and joining us!
Love this and will try- I love Flowers so much!
Hi Debra! I'm glad you liked it and I hope you have fun giving it a try. Take care and happy Easter!
What a delightful technique. Your flower was very inspiring.
Thank you, Pilar! I appreciate you watching and commenting! I hope to see you again soon!
Omg I just think that's the coolest thing ever! I am not at all new to sewing but have never quilted. I just recently started a new stash for quilts I want to make but I could totally use all the scraps from dresses I've made to make quilts doe my kids!!! Thank you for this wonderful tutorial!
Hello and thank you so much for your comment! This is one of my favorite blocks to make and I love to color-coordinate my scraps while making it. I also love choosing a focal point for the center of each block. It really can make such a difference in the outcome. I hope you have fun giving it a try - I bet you'll love sewing some!
I really love your flower square. I really enjoyed your videos and just found you. I will binge watch now.
That’s so sweet, Connie! I can’t remember how many videos I have out right now, but I’ve been doing them for just about two months or so (I think, lol). Welcome!!
So pretty💖 I love the flower in the center. I love scrap quilting💖💕😊
Hi Linda! Thank you! I love it, too! Happy Easter!
What a lovely crazy scrap block you made!!! Love the flower in the center as your focal point! Keep on 🧵 sewing!!!
Hey there Lisa Marie! I hope you're having a great day. I'm sewing/working away on baby items. I can't give away too much, as my daughter has already watched all videos up to this point and I can't give any more surprises away, lol. We'll catch up soon. Thanks so much for always watching and commenting! Take care!
Beautiful Crazy Block! Love the flower!
Thank you!
I love the colors especially the flower center.
Hi Diane! Thanks so much! Welcome and thanks for watching and commenting!
Very pretty flower center.
Hi Lucila! Thanks so much!
A new subscriber from the UK. I really loved watching this crazy block coming together as I’m new to quilting. The focal flower in the centre is a great idea. I’m definitely going to try one of these. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos.
Thanks for subbing! I hope you give this fun block a go… they’re great fun!
I like watching you sew.
Awww, that’s so sweet. Thanks! I love making crazy blocks!
I love the red flower in the block!
Hi Vickey! Thank you! I appreciate your stopping by and commenting. Happy Easter!
Love your block the word of the creative word is flower.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad that you like the block and the “flower” 😉😘
Love the flower center...
Thank you! 😊
I never thought of using a themed center, like you did with the flower. I could see the center becoming the focus for.an I Spy quilt.
I love scrap quilting❤️I do not fuss this much, no matchy matchy for me. I chain sew a huge pile, stop, cut apart, press and start again. I use smaller scraps at center, saving larger strips as block gets bigger. Often sew so 2 or 3 starting blocks to get a complete block. It’s an addiction, I never want to stop
Hi there! Normally, I wouldn't fuss too much, either as it's not as relaxing that way. These blocks aren't for me and when I make them for others, I put way more effort in than what I'd do for myself, lol. It's funny because what you describe about being an addiction is so true - for me it's especially true with my favorite, which is Crumb quilting! Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Take care!
@@MariesScrappyCreations 👍
Beautiful block with the flower!
Evelyn Stevens
Hello Evelyn! Thank you! I love your name - it was my maternal grandmother’s name and it’s also my Mom’s middle name. Thank you for watching and stopping by to comment. Happy Easter!
I love the starting flower in bright red. It's been wonderufl watching.
I’m so glad you enjoyed this! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment and play along. Happy sewing!
Loved the flower block, really pretty.
Thank you!
Love the video. I will definitely try this. My favorite flower is a lily. Thank you.
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!
Really wonderful flowers are always pretty in quilts thank you great idea
Hi Tracey! Yes, flowers are perfect in quilts. :-)
I just stumbled onto your you tub video and I just love what I can do with all those scraps I have been saving all these years. I love vintage fabrics and using big flowers, little flowers I can't wait to finish the fall wall hanging I currently working on then I am going to give this crazy quilt block a try. I am seventy 79 (going to be in Dec 26th) 8 love the idea of just sitting and sewing scraps together and making something beautiful. I will be watching more of crazy scrap quiling on you tub can't wait to see what else you do with scraps I have so many precut might start cutting them up do scraps
I’m glad you found me! The crazy blocks are one of my absolute favorite blocks!!
Beautiful flower scrappy block!!
Thank you Joan, I'm glad that you liked it. This has been a very popular video and I love making crazy blocks. They're probably one of my 2 top favorite blocks ever. Thank you so much for watching and dropping by to comment.
Love this! The flower in the center is very pretty! ❤️🌺
Hi Jo'Leta! Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I just sat down from working on Laken's "items" (no, I'm not giving any more away, lol). I got up at just after 2 a.m. and have been busy since around 3:30 this morning. I really need to push so I can get this stuff done, boxed up and off to you soon!
Great block. I have been dloing this type of block for a few years. I like the flower in the middle.
Hi Susan! I was thinking about that when I made that - about how many years I've been making them. But, I couldn't come up with a number, lol. Let's just say 'a few" ha ha. I hope you have a great Easter!
Thank you for another awesome idea, I love those colors and flowers.
You are so welcome! I'm glad you liked this!
I would call this block “flower power”. Thanks for showing - anxious to try one for myself.
They're so fun and pretty! Have fun!
Marie loved your video on crazy quilting block. I always wanted to try this and I definitely have enough scraps, some even with flowers.
Well hello and I'm so glad you found this video helpful. I love making crazy blocks, and I love picking out fabrics for the center. I hope you have fun making yours!
I love the Flower in the middle and liked your idea of doing all the middles the same. I really like your block and material choices. So colorful. My first time watching your channel. I will be back.
I'm so happy you enjoyed the block! Welcome, welcome!!! 🥰
Flower is word of the day. I love this video because you are so straightforward. Your instructions are clear without a lot of chatter and it's so easy to see the way you sew. I'm very glad I found this video. I've watched a lot but you are the best! Thank you so much and I am definitely following you for quilting techniques. I am a lady 78 yrs of age, a total beginner in quilting and I love this style. Thank you!
Hi Sharon! Thank you so much for such a sweet comment, so good to know I was helpful! I did want to say though, that I'm not exclusively a quilting channel. I just started this channel about 6 months ago and after years of making quilts, I was left with a LOT of scraps. So I started this channel in hopes of using my scrap in as many different projects as i could. I do here and there make quilt related videos and right now we are doing a Quilt Along ( a beginner friendly Sampler quilt). I make a lot of household item like potholders, pillows, and plus I make tote bags, zippered bags, etc. I'm glad you subscribed, but I did want to explain what my channel is all about - Welcome Sharon!!!
This is my absolute favorite 😍 block to make!
Hello Miki! I hope you're having a great weekend. I agree 100% with you - they're my favorite, too! I hope the ladies in the group didn't mind me showing off my blocks, lol. My great grandmother used to make scrap quilts out of blocks really similar to the crazy blocks, so from some of my earliest memories, they've been a part of my life. Thanks for stopping by, watching and commenting. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and take care! :-)
Flower is the secret word for the day.
Thanks for playing 😄
I really like this flower block. After watching your videos I'm not as intimated about just sewing pieces together and making something beautiful. Thank you
Thanks so much! I'm so glad that you find my videos helpful! You're welcome ;-) Thanks for your comment!
Loved your video and I love how you used the flower in the middle and used compatible fabrics of colors from the flower. Just found your channel and I am so happy I did.
Well hello and welcome, Lorraine! I’m SO glad that you found my channel! I’ve been doing this for about four months now. On Wednesdays, I post a midweek video and you never know what that’s going to be. Then, on Sundays, I post a tutorial. Here and there, I have been known to pop in with a chat or a live stream, here and there. I look forward to getting to know you better and I hope you have a great day. Happy sewing! If you’d like to, there is a Facebook group called Marie’s Scrappy Creations and people post their scrappy items there. It’s a great group, if you would like to join us.
@@MariesScrappyCreations Thank you Marie for the nice welcome. I have subscribed to your Facebook group and anxious to see all of the scrappy items everyone have made.
Love the flower in the middle, all the colors make the flower pop out.
Hi Linda! Thanks so much, I thought so, too. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. I hope you have a great day! If you're on Facebook, we'd love to have you join us! Its all so new... the RUclips channel and the facebook group, but people are starting to post pictures of finished projects, etc and we have a great group of people already.
facebook.com/groups/5182712958456180
Absolutely loved that block. Yes I first used a foundation to sew on but not any more lol! I have to say I loved it before squaring up so i'm off to use up the left over strips I have from the Chick (in your last tutorial) and make an Easter 5 sided table topper. Instead of a flower I'll have bunnies or eggs for the centre. I'll post a picture in the facebook group...Thank you Marie it doesn't matter how many years we've sat at a sewing machine there's always more to find out x
Hi Jo! Hope you're having a great weekend... well, I think you're way ahead of us, but it's 9:30 am on Sunday as I write this. ;-) Isn't it funny how we learn things one way and then try something new? I still use foundation piecing sometimes, but it depends on the project.
Yes, I kind of hate to cut off the edges to square them up, because I always like the bit I'm cutting, lol. But, I do know it'll get used up, as that's the fun part! It sounds like you are busy busy, with another Easter/Spring time creation - good for you! I look forward to you posting it on group when you're done, thanks for that! I love to see everything that everyone is working on. I think it sounds adorable with the bunny or eggs in the center!
We do always learn, don't we? I've learned so much from others and that's the exciting part - like you say, there's always more to learn! Take care!
We're way ahead 3pm in the afternoon here xx
I like the triple speed for the sewing, trimming, and ironing. A good tutorial. I'm excited to learn about your Facebook groups; I've found my scrappy home!
That’s awesome, thank you! I’m so happy you liked this tutorial! If you want to email me at mariesscrappycreations@yahoo.com and tell me your Facebook name, etc., I can send you an invite to the Facebook group. Because unfortunately I was getting way too many members all at once, so I shut off the ability of people just coming in without an invite.
I'm just starting on my 1st crazy quilt and I love your tutorial and approach the best. The Pioneer Woman FLOWER is one of my favorite design elements.
Wonderful! Thanks for letting me know that you found this helpful! I love crazy quilting!
Beautiful flower material you are using in your quilt block.
Thank you, Karen! I appreciate your view and your comment. Thank you for stopping by! Happy Easter!
Today I came across your program & was so happy you explained n a easy way how to make a crazy block. I now subscribed so u can show me different ways to make blocks
Welcome aboard! I do a lot of scrappy sewing, and I do make quilt blocks here and there. This is one of my more popular videos, as well as my scrappy crumb pieced block. You can find that here, you’re interested. ruclips.net/video/404c0TjDXbI/видео.html
I love the flower, esp the 5-sided center piece of scrap for the starter piece Marie.
I have found that just using an odd shape center piece of scrap using a precut 6.5" paper square motivated me more to make my crazy crumb blocks, esp when I had some crazy strip starters already made up. Now I need to make some more starters, as I've already completed 9 blocks & I need several more blocks, possibly 12 or 18.
Hi there! Thanks, I thought it "popped" enough to make it a focal point. I loved that piece of fabric that I took it from, too. I really need to use more bright colors.
Getting started for me is a big thing. Once I know what I'm starting with, I can really get right in there, but I get too choosy sometimes when it comes to my centers.
I will catch up on chat soon, I promise. I have that app on my phone and the rest is on my computer, lol. Today, I'm hip deep in baby projects because I have a lot to do before I can put them in the mail and they need to go into the mail soon. Enjoy the rest of your weekend... or is it over over there by now? I get confused with all the time zones. Ok, I'm off to sew. Take care and I'll chat soon! Thanks for dropping by, watching and commenting!
@@MariesScrappyCreations It's late Sunday, not quite midnight, so almost Monday morning lol
Flower, block was beautiful
Thank you! Happy Easter!
Great video…I love the flower crazy square!
Thanks so much! I’m happy you liked this “flower” project!
I'm still learning about quilting just from watching videos like yours. I can't wait to get started, once settled in my new home! I like your "flower" theme... and look forward to watching more of your videos!
That’s wonderful! I do make quilt block videos, but most of my “creations” are using my leftovers from having made quilts for years, sewn into projects like bags, potholders, etc. I did do a quilt along, which you can find under my playlists, where I have 12 more blocks. I hope you have a great rest of your week, happy sewing!
Love how your flower 'eye-candy' pops!! As you were sewing, I thought these blocks would make great I-Spy panels on tote bags for the kids I sew for in womens refuges with their mothers. I think Im going to give it a go tomorrow (Its 9.30pm Sunday here in Queensland, Australia) so definately a tomorrow job. Looking forward to the crumb and scrap vids to come x
Hi Nanni Bee! Good to "see" you again! I agree, they would make great I-Spy blocks! Just think of all the fun of choosing great "eye candy" centers for one of those - fun, fun! I've had a few ideas for different I-Spy quilts and want to make one soon. It's figuring out which pattern I want to use that's holding me back, ha ha.
That's a wonderful thing you do, making the totes! So thoughtful and kind of you and so needed by these displaced people, I'm sure! Thank you for that! It sounds like you're about 13 hours ahead of us since as I type this, it's 9:41 a.m. here.
I will be "sprinkling' the block tutorial videos in amongst the other tutorials, here and there. I think there's definitely enough interest, just from people who've taken the time to write or message me, asking about them. Thanks for dropping by and for commenting. Take care! See you Wednesday ;-)
Hello! I hope you were able to have a wee bit of fun today! I was trying to sew, chatting with my daughter and playing with my granddaughter today. I now glad to be sitting and watching your video. Thank you for posting this and your time.
Hi Brenda! Thanks, I did have fun... I finished a baby quilt that had taken quite a bit more time than I had anticipated. I used a ruffle edge and never having done it before, I kept hesitating so it ended up taking longer than it should have, lol. Sounds like you had a great day! Grandchildren are the best,, aren't they? I'm so glad you stopped by to watch and comment. I hope you have a great week and get to have a lot of sewing time, too! Take care!
I love the flower in the center. I only do hand quilting so I need to figure out how to do this and still be able to trim my block without having it fall apart. I love scrappy quilts and all the colors and patterns of the fabric. Yours is just beautiful. Thanks for showing how you make yours.
Hello Cindy! Thanks so much! I started out sewing every part of my quilts by hand, so I've definitely been where you are. I didn't make this type of block, though. I would think that if you were to use the tiniest stitches you can make it would help when you cut across the seam. Best of luck and thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Omg we could do a sampler one each month. January, snowy scene, February hearts, March shamrocks, April rain showers ect. 😉
We could! That's similar to what we do in our scrap quilt swap group. Each month that we swap Crazy blocks,, most of us will do a theme... such as in February we would sew a Valentine day related one, November might be turkey related, etc. Maybe we should start one here on my group/channel in January!
@@MariesScrappyCreations or tutorial like you are having now.
I've got some beautiful material with flowers. This would be a wonderful way to use some of it. I'm still learning n I think I could do these flower centered blocks thank you
Hi Rose! if you have a lot of flowered fabrics, what about if you made each block with a different flower in the center? I think that would be a beautiful idea! Thanks so much for visiting and for commenting!
Love your flower eye candy! The blocks from your swap are so pretty!
Hi Angela! Thank you so much! I love choosing those center fabric "eye candy" pieces. The only thing is, sometimes I spend way too much time choosing, when I could be sewing, ha ha. I'm glad you enjoyed seeing my swapped blocks, as I was hoping not to bore my viewers, but I think they're so pretty!
Just learning to quilt. Thank you for the great idea! Love the flower! 🌻
A new quilter? I love it. Exciting times! When I made my first quilt, there was no internet. I took a book out from my local library called “Let’s make a patchwork quilt” and boy, did I have a lot to learn!
Marie, you are a bright FLOWER in my garden of quilting friends! Your tutorials are so easy to grasp and you are always encouraging!! 🎉
Yes, it is my goal to catch up on all I have missed. I started with your first video and I am plodding along.
You are the sweetest flower in the whole flower garden, my dear Honor. Thank you so much for your dedication to my little channel, you're just so sweet and kindhearted. Anddddd, you do such a wonderful job of sewing!! You have a great eye for color, too!
What a beautiful crazy block and “flower” 🌹 eye candy! Thank You!!
Glad you enjoyed it!!!
What a wonderful idea for those flower scraps... love the process.. Thank you!
Hi Llyn! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! This one has been a favorite and has more views than any of my other videos. I have a crumb block video that I put up last week and then I have a scrappy ladder block pattern that will be coming up in a few weeks. I showed it on one of my Wednesday videos and people are waiting on that one. It's one of my favorite blocks of all times. Hope to see you on Sunday!
Thank you so much Marie, I really really enjoyed watching you create this gorgeous and stunning crazy block with the central Flower. It’s looks like really really good fun, so I’m going to have a try at doing this. Thank you to for all your tips and tricks that you’ve shared with all of us today. This is my first time watching your videos. I have been quilting for 15 years but never made a crazy quilt. I love flower fabric so you have given me a great way to use my scraps!
Good morning Donna! Thank you so much for watching and stopping by to comment, it’s much appreciated. I love scrap quilts, but especially crazy blocks. I’m glad that you found my video helpful and I hope to see you again soon.
I love your scrappy videos, you take your time when you are showing how to make things. Thank you, keep making quilts. Also, I would love to know how to make a Bears Paw blocks or quilt. Can you show that some day?
Hi Cindy! Thank you for such a nice comment. I am so happy that you have found my videos to be helpful. When I started, my RUclips channel, I called it “scrappy creations” because I had so many scraps left over from years of making quilts. So, most of my videos focus on things other than quilt blocks. I did make 3 quilt block videos, as well as 12 live streamed quilt blocks for a quilt along. That being said, I may do more in the future, and if I do, I will certainly take in your suggestions. Thanks so much!
Love how you use a flower to center a block ...so pretty!
Hi Shari! Thanks so much for playing, watching and commenting! I love the spelling of your name! Happy Easter!
I love this & how you used the flower as a center point. I always have a hard time cutting up a pretty print. This is a cool way of displaying it and then creating something fun around it. Thank you for making this look easy.
Thank you! 🌼 🌸 I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to cut into the pretty fabrics!
Absolutely beautiful
Thanks for sharing and your great idea
Stay blessed
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I'm happy that you found it helpful! Happy Easter!
I like the flower in the center
Thanks! So glad you watched and commented! Happy sewing!
This is the first time I watched your crazy quilt tutorial using the FLOWER center and I loved it. I am a quilter with tons of scraps. I'm making 28x28 mini quilts for my local animal shelter's Cat Cages. which have wire bottoms. They were using towels and I knew I could improve on that and use up all my scraps. They love them. I'm certainly going to try your crazy quilts, too. Thank You.
Hi Julie! Aww, that’s so sweet of you and I’m sure they appreciate it. Not only the shelter, but the little kitties. About a year and a half ago, I had a whole bunch of fleece fabric given to me and I made stacks of square cage liners for one of the local pet rescue centers. I also bought a bag of catnip and made a bunch of toys to donate. I know they always need the bedding, and what a great use of your scraps. Even though they can’t talk, I’m sure that the little kitties love all those colors, but we definitely know they love the warmth. Thank you!
Another fabulous block! I’m loving your channel! Love the flower center!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you're enjoying my channel! I really appreciate that you watched and then took the time to comment, that means a lot to me. Have a great day and happy sewing!
