I used slatwall for the front counter of my lab, many years ago. But back then, it was wood. I’ve got a lot of experience with pvc, as many of my machines (film and paper processors) had large parts made of it. PVC will give over time if there is weight pulling away from it. So be careful about shelves and such. It will do well for some time, but then… you can never have too many outlets. As long as you aren’t an octopus you won’t be using more than one machine at a time, so powering them isn’t a problem. But, boy, having outlets everywhere doesn’t seem like a big deal until you have to plug that grinder just two feet further than the cord will reach. I put a power strip under the front of my welding table for grinders and such and it really helps as I can have three of four of them plugged in at once as I go back and forth between them. Just go for it. My philosophy is to have too much rather than too little.

I don't plan on hanging anything too heavy so hopefully, it will hold up well. My wood shop is short on outlets and I feel like I am constantly switching cords between miter saws, sanders, dremel, battery chargers, etc. After I get my metal room done, the woodshop will be next.

Yes, I bought a small cnc router and have been in the process of shuffling all my woodshop into the end of my metal shop. The router was just too loud. I didn't have any electrical on that end, so I've been spending all my time pulling wire and prepping to launch a kids' wood product. I'm not an electrician, so I have not been posting any of that work.
