  • I have always wondered how the RUclipsrs I admire managed to establish their very well-equipped shops and the talents to use them. I have a long way to go in gaining the skills and equipment I desire, but here's some background of how I got here.

Absolutely have lived your life! It’s not an easy one and won’t garner much praise at the “Country Club”, but, honest work that builds family respect, even if you’re not noticing it. Remember there are Armies of you out there. Thank God.

You've had a interesting life :-) Never needed the country club, just quality time outdoors with my family and good tools.

good talk! keep the bathroom series coming, maybe i can learn a thing or 3 on how to rebuild a bathroom and make it not only functional but add some value to my home as well.

Struggling to figure out how to film those processes solo. It can be difficult enough with only two hand and the limited space to just get the job done. I could talk through the order of operations and the anticipated problems. I'll have to give it some thought. If you are resonably resourceful and like to learn, it's a good challenge. If I had the resources, I don't think I would ever choose to do it.

@@rustedox3174 maybe do a time lapse of the actual work? stick the camera up by the ceiling and do cut ins in post for the detail stuff?

I've never heard it expressed like that, but there is a lot of truth to that.

I did live in flips for years. Buy, live, renovate, move out, rent, repeat. I hated it. Eventually sold everything and started a vacant land investing business. No tenants, termites, or toilets. Best of luck, man!

It has simply been a vehicle to get where I'd like to go, I keep looking for a better one and I'm glad you were able to find yours. " No tenants, termites, or toilets" is a blissful dream at this point. It's unfortunate how much house-flipping shows are a disservice to those interested in the trade. Walking around a house and telling a contractor what to fix has not been my experience and likely won't be the experience of any newbie house flippers or landlords. I cringe recalling all the brutal lessons I learned once the hammers started swinging and my wallet started hemorrhaging.

@@rustedox3174 I could talk about this stuff for hours. I hear ya man. I did all the work myself in the beginning. When it came time to scale up and hire contractors and all that jazz it became overwhelming very fast and I moved into the vacant land game instead. I can do it all from my home computer. 6 years of that and it’s not passive enough. My goal for 2023 is to buy a storage unit facility and automate as many systems as possible. My advice would be keep looking for other investing opportunities. There’s plenty of ways to reach financial freedom. Plus, it doesn’t hurt to expand your investment portfolio. Cheers, man!
