Gavin Harrison has such incredible musicality. He's amazing. Colin Edwin on the bass is awesome in this performance too and doesn't get the love he deserves.

They are a perfect compliment to the rest of the band. These five dudes are top of the field.

When I first heard PT with Gavin, listening on headphones I thought, “Does PT have two drummers?” Also, in the song the rhythm section is Colin on bass, laying down the foundation for the song while the other guys do their thing. Always, always amazing when live!!!!

Gavin drums for Pineapple Thief. The songs themselves aren't nearly as complex as Porcupine Tree, but they are good listening, and atmospheric.

back then I loved the concert DVD so much that I accidentially bought it twice over a course of 2 years.

Some of the best double stroke rolls I’ve ever heard. Gavin’s drumming really inspires me to go back to rethinking practice ideas and creative ways of using rudiments to challenge and expand the techniques I learned a long time ago. Just incredible.

There is always something new to learn - sometimes even going back to things we already know leads to discovering something fresh and exciting :) That is why it's so fun to watch other drummers do their thing - Inspiration :)

Gavin Harrison. Not to take anything away from the rest of PT, but yeah... he is a machine.

Also don't overlook the solid foundation which Colin Edwin gives to the other musicians. This reminds me of the freedom Tony Levin gives to everyone else in King Crimson. Without a rock solid rhythm the song would be a mess but its presence serves to contrast the way in which Gavin in particular plays with the rhythm.

In Exile (Live @ Islington Assembly Hall) by The Pineapple thief. It's a popular song from them and Gavin is great. As always🤟❤

What Gavin did sliding up the rack tom is a technique that is usually used by conga players, if at all. You quickly wet your finger on your tongue and do the slide. I can do it on congas occasionally, but not on toms yet. Takes some real practice to be consistent!!!

I'm so stoked about this one! Gavin is on fire here! Please react to the Jurassic/Cretaceous drum playthrough by Paul Seidel of The Ocean! I'd love to hear you comments on that one! I know you like The Ocean.

Gavin doesn't play " chops" because "chops" themselves are to scared to be called just " chops" when played by Gavin. Also he makes 4/4 feels like 8 /281626382817

Mediocre song, but Gavin makes it worth listening to. His embellishments are dynamite. Some of the most subtle double bass you will hear.

Mediocre? I sugest you listen this song again a couple of times, studio version too. It's a brillant song that takes several listenings to "feel" it.
