Family Tractor Comes Home After 51 Years Away: Case 310C

  • An unexpected turn of events finally lead to this one finding her way back home. Since I did this video we have messed with it a little bit and already got a track to move reluctantly so those are currently soaking in a diesel/ATF mix and hopefully they will free up so they dont have to come apart. Also pulled all the plugs and checked the cylinders with a bore scope. They are all clean as a whistle and have very nice fresh cross hatching on the cylinder walls so it has indeed had at least some engine work done. Shot all those full of diesel and ATF as well so hopefully it will pop loose without much effort.

I believe your story about grandad Roundy. I have been watching this spychic who drives a Uber hauling people around and he tells them things no one else in the world knows about them. He talks to the dead. My rottweiler died 2 months ago and I am still mourning that wonderful boy, and I talk to him every day. I am 77 and miss him horribly. Some story about him clearing some ground and a branch clocking him knocking him out on this machine. If you can get the pto working that would be great.

Warms the heart seeing a family tractor come back home. There is something there when it comes to these old machines, almost like they are alive and have a soul. I look forward to seeing you guys wake this one back up and get it back to doing what it was born to do.

Nothing better then a family tractor coming home, we found my great grandpas 1965 international 806 standard last month. It was lost in 1974 when it was traded away for a new international 1466 FWA. Sold in WI and found 50 years later on a farm in Iowa

How cool you and your dad got the crawler back. You could see and feel the emotion in your dad. This will be so much fun watching the 2 of you working on it. A few years back, my son and I got my grandpa's 47 case vac that my dad's dealership sold to him, back in the family. It was an awesome feeling

Thanks for the video and story, the whole deals cool. It kinda sounds like you just bought your dad half his retirement project after you've both worked on it and played with it for a while. On a side note to the Irish tractor video, the guy I work for here in Canada's originally from Ireland, we were talking about that tractor today. He remembers about 30 years ago something about somebody farming with 2 or 3 more Whites, so there might be more of the original 6 turn up after this one sells if they sit in the hedge and weren't scrapped or sold to collectors before. Take care guys.

That is definitely a good find and piece of family history. Funny you mentioned that Case/Oliver merger I read a 1956 news article on it. I guess it was to shore up dealer network. But once case bought American tractor they got the best construction line around and it was more profitable than AG

Ah that Case does not have steering clutches , It has band brakes inside setting in MINERAL OIL so ya need 80-90 MINERAL OIL NOt gear oil. . Since those tracks are old stile pin and bushing and not the lubed ones since it has sat your rails are now one frozen stiff chain . I had a 68 case 310 i bought new . . Ya may get lucky with about four or five cases of ZEP penetrating fluid and get the pins to free up OR take the chain to someone who can pres the pins out and clean them and press them back in.
