Erika Acorda Yes, you can use a hair dryer to dry watercolor paper. However, the heat tool I use also can be used for heat embossing. You can't heat emboss with a regular hair dryer because it would blow away the powder and doesn't get hot enough. But for just drying watercolor, a hair dryer would be okay.

I'd be careful with how you use the blow dryer. If your paint is really wet it can blow it around. I usually just let my watercolours air dry.
