    Good video! What tire psi are you running hot and cold? Ive only run sc1 120/180 on an r6. I recently tried the sc2 and the wear was amazing. The sc1 ive always had tire wear issues. Its probably due to my tire psi. I run 2.5 bar (36psi) front and 1.5 bar rear (21.7psi) cold. A buddy racer told me those numbers are to high especially for the front tire

    If use metz TD which is very similar ti sc3..,what compaund have we hot in that front(td)???
    Because if td or sc3 are better for cold …should we chance the front ?

    • @ChasingTenths
      @ChasingTenths  7 месяцев назад

      I have spoken to the Pirelli technicians about it last year
      The Pirelli SC1 Superbike slick in the front is absolutely fine , it gives optimum grip in most conditions
      However, slicks should not be used if it’s less than 6 to 8 degrees on track .. it’s too cold .. you can then use Supercorsa SP in the front or Supercorsa SC in the front

    I've rode at Misano world circuit with SC3 in June last year and they were dangerously slippery. I suggest them as season opening or ending track days tyres because they work great with cold temperatures. I've used mostly SC2 and they adapt better with temperatures during the year than any other compound Pirelli currently offering. SCX, SC0 those are truly for qualifying laps tyres, definatly not for the average track day rat as me. 😁 Thanks for the video very informative.

    Abhi, awesome video! Preciate the knowledge and experience you've shared. I am considering Pirelli race slicks vs. Bridgestone race slicks for track use. Eventually, I would like to experience both for my own comparison. In the meantime, I have to start with one. I don't recall if you have ridden on Bridgestone slicks. If so, and if not, what are your thoughts about Bridgestone? Thanks again, Abhi!

      Bridgestone is brilliant mate the v02 soft and medium compounds both are brilliant and they also do a slightly more durable and more consistent version called V02 3LC , I have done a video on that , I talk about v02 in general in that video too , in our racing category we can only use Pirelli and metzeler. And I have also heard that the Bridgestone W01 is one of the best if not the best wet weather race tyre out there… check that v02 video out or actually I will put a link in a second comment to you here , thanks for the appreciation

    Would you use a SC1 front all year round ? Ive got a trackday at Cadwell this sunday and i like the idea of using it with a TD rear as long as its not too cold for the SC ?

    • @ChasingTenths

      It should be absolutely ok
      Unless the temperature drops to about below 10 degrees
      I have used Sc1 all year around with no issues plus TD rear with it
      And it’s been brilliant

      Let me find out for your about the fairings for the new model
      I have personally used extreme components fairings and BikePlast fairings for my 2015 RF but I don’t think they make it for the new one yet ,,,, pro fibre might do but let me find out for you matey

    what you mean by heat cycles??? if i get an track used SC1 will perform worse than a SP?

    • @ChasingTenths
      @ChasingTenths  2 месяца назад +1

      Heat cycles means in Lehman terms; how many times the tire has gone through warmers off then on track then warmers on and also if not using warmers then; going on track then coming back in to the pits and then going back out again. So in the UK we have 6 to 7 twenty minute sessions on one trackday so thats like 7 heat cycles. If you get a Track used SuperCorsa SC1 (which is road legal too) that will be fine with a few heat cycles, but if its the SC1 Racing Slick, thats doesn't last that long anyways as its a softer compound tire and the wear dots on it will tell you the limits of the wear. You will be fine as long as the tire wear markers are ok. SC1 gives much more grip than SP. But SC1 does like to be used with warmers, SP warms up pretty quick on track within a lap without warmers. Please feel free to ask any further questions, I hope I haven't confused you

      @@ChasingTenths i think i will use SC1 used front and SP new on rear... I live in Brazil, here we have 24-35 degre temperature, i will use for road "race" with friends i was on doubt if i get the front SC1 or SP, i dont mind durability only grip for the front...
