There has never been another born performer like Michael Jackson! I’ll never forget seeing him & the Jackson Five on tv for the first time. I thought to myself, where did this little kid with a HUGE talent come from? He was the youngest in the band, but he made the band! He had so much charisma with his fly dance moves & a killer voice. He looked so at ease, as if he had years of experience performing. He went on to take the world by storm. There has never been another MJ and there never will be! His passing was an extreme loss for the music and dance community. We will always remember him for his groundbreaking talent.😔

We will never see another star like Michael Jackson ever again he was a one of a kind talent and person. Thriller will always be the greatest album ever
One thing that has proven why MJ is the greatest of all time is that he was known worldwide before the internet became a thing. Imagine that. No Facebook, no RUclips, nothin', and yet he was known. According to my dad, the first time Thriller was on television everything stopped.
Well said. Though facebook, and social media as a whole does not garantee to stay famous. You also need talent and move people. Just like he did. Well, Michael was a multitalented person on his own unreachable level. Dont think there will be a second person coming even close to him, when it cones to the ability to entertain the world. Its a big difference in having success and be out of peoples minds some day or to stay in mind forever. Thats Michael.
@keyboardandsounds5788 no, the point is, he had no social media, which meant, ppl couldn't just watch him all day everyday. On social media, u can gain fans everyday. He would have broke the internet if they had it for sure. Without social media, a lot of entertainers would be nobody's, or struggling acts. The exposure it provides is massive. And he obtained more exposure and popularity than just about anybody who's capitalized from social media. So that's what he meant.
I grew up in late 80s and 90s. His video releases use to be on all major networks at 8pm. It was no joke. He was everything and everywhere. Janet had that to an extent, but not even rock stars and definitely not hip hop had that.
The 70s and 80s were chock-full of greats. Phil Collins, Prince, GnR, AC/DC, George Michael, Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, Boney M... Don't see that long-lasting music quality these days in mainstream global music.
im an MJ fan for over 40 years now (!) and still to this day drive around with my car, windows down blowing MJ's music to all corners and let me say this, the moment people recognize his music, they start smiling, gesturing and sometimes even dancing ... MJ will never die ...

When I was a baby, my parents would play this for me and I would dance to it. It's still one of my favorite albums of all time. Essentially, the perfect pop album. I only wish I was old enough to genuinely appreciate it at the time it was released.

They tried to take Michael's legacy but it couldn't be done! Forever an icon, forever the king of pop! Thanks, Michael for not only giving us Thriller but for changing and innovating the music world and culture forever! Continue to rest in power! ✊️
It’s hard to explain to people born since Thriller just how huge it was. No Facebook, no RUclips, less media and no reality TV et cetera meant there were a lot less ‘stars’ around then than there are today, and so those few people that were famous then were famous in a mega way that young people today just can’t comprehend. Newspapers and showbiz columns had a few dozen people to report on compared to thousands now.
A specific question, is there a complete song in the doc? Or is it the same as the previous ones, Bad and Off The Wall, from which they only included clippings of performances.
@@viniciustadeu4104not sure due to the documentary we saw at the private screening was described as “incomplete” as it wasn’t the submitted final product but from what we saw I can say there’s a good length, upscaled performances from the victory tour and in terms of songs from the album, not every song is covered but the ones that are there’s some amazing upscaled/new footage based around those songs. For example there’s footage of Michael & Paul recording the girl is mine, never before seen footage of behind the scenes from beat it and thriller etc etc.
Michael was a true artist. He was what a singer and songwriter was all about. He loved what he did. He really did. He will always be my favorite male singer and Thriller will always be my favorite song!!
This Is one of those "you gotta be a certain age to understand" things. I was there. I understand. Thriller stopped everything else. A damn near flawless album.
His legacy will live on forever. His talent is untouchable. He is the one and only entertainer in the world that will ever have that kind of star power. That talent was a gift from god and Michael knew that. He was the most humble of them all and genuinely cared about the world. If only he were here today to remind humanity that war is not the answer, love is. Thank you for everything Michael Jackson!!!!

We can't wait. Hopefully, it will include many live recordings from the Victory Tour. A concert from 1984 should definitely be officially released in full length anyway. Michael was at his peak, although everyone thought he had already reached it on the Triumph Tour. And with the Bad Tour he surpassed himself again. Unbelievable.
MJ will never be forgotten. Even today young people know who Michael Jackson was. He was smart. Just like a Xmas song, Thriller is a Halloween song for people around the world and at the rave i went to in London last week when The DJ dropped it with a house beat in the background everyone went crazy! 😍 Billie Jean gets played to this day in clubs cos it sounds like a song that could have come out yesterday even though it’s over 40 years old & everyone dances to it.
Finally a documentary on this classic album. This album & other great records kicked started the awesome Decade called the 80's at the end of 1982. I can't wait to see it.
I've watched it last night. IT WAS AWESOME. Watch everything in it, and make sure don't miss it. If being emo and goth wasn't a phase, well, Thriller was NOT a phase.
I had the supreme pleasure of seeing Michael Jackson in person twice in my life. I was on Hollywood Blvd. when he got his star on the Walk of Fame on Tuesday, November 20, 1984. The crowd only saw him for a very brief moment when he climbed on something that made him stand taller. When he got down after what seemed like 10 seconds, we all groaned. I saw him again at Dodger Stadium with his brothers during the Victory Tour. I can’t remember the exact date but the concert was rain delayed for over an hour. Then we watched as stage hands came on stage and mopped all the rain off. That took forever. Then we got a magician as an opening act. I know that Michael loved magic, and this guy was really good, but after the rain delay and the mopping, we just wanted the concert to start. I never forgot that Michael introduced his parents during the concert, and they both came on stage. We cheered and clapped like crazy. Honestly, if we knew then what we know now about how Joseph Jackson treated his son, we would have booed him offstage. 😒 I almost got to see him 3 times but got there too late. Somehow my sister and I found out where a scene for the music video for Thriller was being filmed. It was this area of Los Angeles where there’s a lot of train tracks. It’s pretty much in East LA. When we got there though, he’d already left. This documentary is going to bring back a lot of beautiful memories. Oh, and of course I saw him on tv for the Motown 20 Special. When he did the Moonwalk my jaw literally dropped 😮 Edit: I also know exactly where the Thriller house is. My Godmother lives up the street from there. The area is called Angelino Heights. They film or at least used to film a lot of tv and movie stuff up there. It’s walking distance from Echo Park Lake. It’s super close to downtown. The tv show Charmed filmed the exteriors of the house there too. The Thriller house is like 3-4 houses away from the Charmed house. I grew up walking up and down that street to go to the liquor store at the bottom of the hill to buy candy or play Pac-Man. They filmed that stuff late at night so I wasn’t there and didn’t find out about it until I saw the music video. I’m almost sure that the only person who was at that location was Ola Ray, the girl in the video. They probably shot the scenes where the zombies are trying to break into the house on a Soundstage somewhere else.
At what point did he introduce his parents? Any other cool info on the Victory concert? Did he throw his hat in the audience? Sometimes he didn't... What clothes did he wear? There are pics of him in rare jackets and costumes on tour. I can't tell if they were dress rehearsals or actual shows...
@@sunnydennison3302 I’ll never forget the Moonwalk during Billie Jean though. That was freaking magical! The drummer that toured with them was Jonathan “Sugarfoot” Moffet. He was and is a beast! I saw him during Madonna’s Who’s That Girl Tour. He was also the drummer for the ill fated This Is It Tour. In 1984, the Jackson were EVERYWHERE. Jermaine, Reebie, and even La Toya, as well as the brothers, had songs in the charts along with music videos to go with each song. Let’s not forget the infamous Pepsi commercial too.
@@sunnydennison3302 I keep trying to reply to this comment with the answers to your questions but You Tube keeps erasing the comment. 🤬 My answer’s too long I guess. 🤦🏻♀️ Ok. @@sunnydennison3302 I don’t remember if he threw his hat at the audience at the end of Billie Jean. They opened with “Wanna Be Starting Something.” Michael wanted to do this concert alone but his father had different ideas and he shoved the Jacksons into the tour. I heard that Mike was furious!
Awesome. I almost saw him October 2001 at a record signing in lower Manhattan, NYC. It was a month after 9/11 and that was the reason why I didn’t go. I knew about it before tragedy and i planned on going. After 9/11 i thought it was gonna be cancelled (because everything else was) and i couldn’t believe it when Mike released statements that he was still gonna make the appearance. When I saw him on TV when he really showed up i was floored. The place was packed. I wish i was there. But my health and safety was more important.

@@Julian4470 right, he is an important artist.
Yes! My siblings and I were so excited to watch the Thriller music video. I can still remember watching it for the first time.
I wore this album OUT back in the 80's. I'm surprised MTV didn't crash from all the times his videos ran from this album. Best of all time, period.

It’s hard to explain to people born since Thriller just how huge it was. When he did the Moonwalk my jaw literally dropped 😮
Edit: I also know exactly where the Thriller house is.
