or sometimes they question his importance in the world like i saw a lot of comments from this generation they keep saying whats so great about mj? is it just Nostalgia? but you know we cant blame them coz me im a huge fan of entertainment industry in general that's one of the reasons why i always look at mj in high regards.
but like again thats just life few years from now for sure somebody will reach the same heights mj reach but no one will beat him coz that's his record but im 100% sure somebody someday will be huge and important as him, but once that somebody time passed new generation will hate him and move on from him/her sad reality of life

Guinness Word records at one point had thriller sales at 110 million plus, not 70. I am sure the official count is being diminished in order to someday move a white artist in to the number 1 spot. I have seen evidence that Thriller being ranked 2nd in the USA is also manipulated to keep out of the #1 spot.

Yes! Michael Jackson was not just the king of music back then; he was the God of music. The man ruled. You could not go to a mall without seeing MJ merch everywhere, and everyone was wearing a Thriller or Beat It jacket. I am an 80s kid and was 11 when Thriller came out. The good thing is I looked a lot like him back then, so it gave me a huge advantage over boys because the girls adored me, and they called me MJ. I just feel sorry for today's kids, who will never know how amazing the 80's were.

You wondered how it must've felt, during this era. As a 1976 Gen-Xer.....Harlem, NYC native (the classic era of NYC you only see on old films and videos).....and youngest of 3 black brothers....I can attest: Michael Jackson was UBIQUITOUS, from1983---Spring, 1985. We were with our Mom when she picked us up from school...and purchased "Thriller" from the record store, in 1982.
My brothers and I ( all 3 of us ) were in our underclothes.....watching "Motown 25", with our Mom. I even have the picture of my brother receiving the Michael Jackson DOLL on his birthday (October, 1984). Everyone wanted the DOLL of this Black man. I'm sitting beside my brother in the picture, looking jealous as hell.😄But, then I got my doll, on Christmas.
There was no Martin Luther King holiday. No Oprah. No Barack Obama. A DARK-SKINNED MAN and his Black American family were everywhere. Janet was on NBC Television with "Different Strokes". Jermaine had his gold album. Rebbie had a successful single and music video ("Centipede"). "THRILLER" ALSO PREMIERED ON NBC TELEVISION (not everyone could afford cable, or MTV. So, it was on NBC. Everyone was talking about the "Thriller" movie, the next day). We'd never experienced ONE musician so HUGE, before. People can say Elvis Presley, but I think Michael surpassed him. For 2.5 years ( and again, during the "BAD" era of 1987--1988 ) Michael simultaneously crossed all countries/ethnicities/religions.
You see President Ronald Reagan beside Michael, as Michael is donned in his Grammy Awards/military attire?? Also, Michael in the oval office of the White House?? THAT was Michael mania, in 1984. We were too poor to go to the 1984 "Victory" concert, though.

Unfortunately, Michael Jackson is at the part in his career where EVERY Black Legacy goes. If you know the cycle how Celebrity women go with the public, a similar thing always happens to Black Legacies, where everyone will hate them, love them, then hate them, but it goes even further. They try to erase their legacy and act like they didn’t hold any importance. There honestly should be a study done on it because it ALWAYS happens.

Thriller started when Off the Wall finished & didn’t get the recognition it deserved ….
It was MJ who strongly desired in his heart to produce an album where ALL the songs would be a single & chart-topper…
to produce an album that the critics & industry & fans will never be able to ignore…
We are all fortunate to have been in that era & even if Thriller was recorded today ( Nov 13, 2023) it would still be tops as the Best Album Ever Produced …Period …!!!
Below is why this Phenomena will never happen, ever, again …
It was purely a marvellous convergence of Divinely ordained circumstances that brought ALL the below listed personalities who had come together to produce Thriller…
Firstly, you had to have an artist like MJ, who literally gave his life fir his artistry & craft, at ALL Levels….
From the composing, to the arrangements, to the production, to the marketing & promotions, to the short films, to the Blockbusting highest grossing Global Tours on every continent…
From all the composers, especially Rod Temperton, Steve Porcaro, Paul McCartney, James Ingram on Thriller,
to Quincy - The Greatest Producer who ever lived,
to Bruce Swedien- Arguably the best Sonic Authority, in the business,
to Anthony Marrinelly & Michael Boddicker, Brian Banks, & all the other programmers, studio engineers & staff…
to all the A-List fabulous Top of their game musicians, from the guys of Toto, Steve Lukather, to Jeff Porcaro to Eddie Van Halen … the list is too long… but go here to see the full list…
    (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thriller_(album))
to the Mastering Engineer Bernie Grundman,
to the great marketing & promotions team at CBS, led by MJ’s Manager at that time- Frank Dileo &
to the legal team led by John Branca &
to the short film directors, John Landis, Steve Barron, Bob Giraldi,
& that’s just some of the key people….
There are tons of others who made Thriller the zeitgeist it was …
And it will be humbling & safe to say, that unless Our Divine Creator ordains it,
Thriller will remain, the greatest Album Ever Produced by the Greatest Artist of All Time …Period…!!! 😍

Good video man. Made me tear up a bit. I’m 36 and my dad had the Thriller vhs and beta tape. At 3 years old I used to watch it every Saturday morning after cartoons from beginning to end. I learned how to sing from watching Who’s Loving You over and over and over again in the beginning of that tape and learned how to dance watching Billie Jean, Beat It and Thriller. I would later learn just how magical he was from watching Moonwalker with Bad, Speed Demon and Smooth Criminal. My favorite artist and one my favorite people, Michael was like a part of my family. I’ll never forget waking up one day and hearing my dad hollering. When I walked into the living room the old man was crying like a baby, he stood up and hugged me and told me the bad news of him passing. I was deeply crushed for we had planned to go see him on the This Is It tour. To this day I still get choked up about it or when I watch or listen to these songs. He was truly a special gift from beyond and there will never be another like him

I am so glad I was old enough to be part of the Thriller era. At 9, I was the first in my neighborhood to purchase the album with my allowance and literally walked around with it many days. It was at this time I felt that I was the biggest MJ fan watching and collecting everything I could on him. My room plastered with MJ’s/Jackson’s pics/articles. I recall always crying whenever I saw him on tv and my parents not understanding why. However, my parents took me and my best friend to see the Jackson’s Victory Tour which was my 1st concert. This era was magical and there was an innocence about it. Everyone walking around with Jheri Curls and a Beat It/Billie Jean/Thriller jacket on. Best time to be a kid!

I was 14 and in high school when Thriller came out. My 1st memories of Mike were with the Jackson 5. I was 4(or 5)when i saw them perform Daddy's Home on Soul Train. Me or my family never bought the Thriller album, didnt have to. Every song on that album was played on the radio daily(some radio stations would play the entire album late at night, by request). For at least a year and a half(1983-84), Thriller WAS the album to listen too. I didnt catch on to the significance and impact of this album until X-mas 1982 when i heard Billie Jean for the 1st time and when i saw the video in JAN '83. Every video show(except MTV) was playing MJ's videos. Around the time MTV lifted the "ban" on black artists, MJ released the Beat it and Thriller videos. The 1984 American Music Awards and The Grammy's that year were great, you might as well called them the Michael Jackson awards show. I saw both shows when he won all those AMA and Grammy's. Legendary performer and is missed. RIP Mike🙏🏾♥🌹🎶

Time has changed a lot. Neigbors were liké families.

The kids did not show Michael how to moonwalk..
It was Jeffrey Daniel's from the group Shalamar who taught him how to.
Michael knew how to do the move since 1980, while he was on the Triumph tour with his brothers in 1981.
He finally revealed the move in the Motown 25 special in 1983..

There was an element to him that is rarely mentioned, but it is felt by everyone, wether they want to admit it or not, his energy, aura, charisma, personality, spirit, smile. Him, so grgeous, handsome, attractive, perfect with his imperfections, on top of it. THE WORLD WAS CRAZY FALLEN IN LOVE WITH HIM. The WHOLE WORLD. He makes you feel the magic and makes you believe a better world could be. You escape in his art to that magic world. His music is cathartic. That special spark in his eyes and his smile make the difference.

    • @Modesty_Blaise
      @Modesty_Blaise 2 дня назад

Later artists did good music, good dancing, had moves, good production, but they never came even close to the TRUE LOVE and adoration the WHOLE WORLD had for him. His honest soul was the special ingredient.

The false 70 million wiki is so untrue it hurts. I'm 44 and it was 70 million in the early 90s. I can guarantee in 10 years will still say 70 million.
In 2006 he had 104 million by guineas world records. It's 120+ now.

Don't care what anyone says..Eagles didn't beat him in domestic sales. Who bought all these albums? Who's playing it and licensing it? When was the last time you heard an Eagles song in an commercial or movie? When have you ever heard their music outside of top 40 and classic rock radio? How did they sell all those records state side, when they're not as popular as The Beegees or Pink Floyd? Answer...The U.S. doesn't want Michael at number 1 for anything...Why???? JORDIE CHANDLER.

    • @mjmedia09returns
      @mjmedia09returns 10 месяцев назад

Not Jordie Chandler. It's was Evan Chandler who drugged him and put his plan in action. Jordie was an INNOCENT bystander. Go watch Square One.
