Someone in the Ioniq Forum tapped his washer fluid line to a little nozzle at the back, so whenever he cleans the windshield it cleans his camera. I keep thinking that I'll do that mod on mine, but its 4½ years later now and I still haven't. 😢
The cover for the back up camera is fine and clever, my car has a high res camera that doesn’t disappear but also has a high pressure washer jet to clean the lens. It also means that when I tow I can select the back up camera when driving forward to see how the trailer/ load is riding. Only problem with the washer on the camera is it will only wash the lens when R is selected and the rear screen washer is activated - so I cannot use the washer when driving forward and as the lens is low down it gets very dirty pretty quickly. The last version of the same car had a rooftop mounted camera too that could be used as a digital rear view mirror or to watch the trailer on the big screen - no washer on that but it never got dirty.
It seems to be a feature that needs some polishing. It could be good for some people, when it detects a parking space, but for every day use I would be irritated that it didn't find the spot and then I wouldn't use it.
It seems your side cameras were a bit dirty/wet. Maybe that also affected the systems ability to detect spaces negatively. Btw you do also have a shortcut to switch over to the parking screen when in reverse. Among the selection of camera views on the right there is a button with a P. Side note: You might find that the larger Mercedes cars maneuver a bit faster.
Great video, the Tesla Autoparking without USS (looks very similar only the parking spot searching is much faster) is currently rolling out, nice to have some comparisons with other systems.
@bjornnyland You should also be able to automatically leave the parking spot if you used auto park for parking. Also at least on the 360 view it looked as if the cameras in the mirrors were a bit dirty, so this might be an explanation for some of the trouble recognizing a few of the parking spots. And if I remember correctly the minimum parking space length is the vehicle length +1m. BTW the system can not deal with angled parking spots (like 45° to the road), so better not try those :D
While you’re talking @Nyland at the beginning you miss the indications in the screen asking you to stop. The car has already found several parking spaces and you keep telling us it can’t find any
I remember when I saw these autopark systems many years ago, especially when Tesla released it and everyone was pumped about it. Now no one seems to care about it anymore. This was the same with 3D TVs or the 4K boom and then eventually people stopped caring about it. Imo autopark is now like that. Unless we are talking about full-self-driving vehicles.
@@BSquare1989 It's still too soon to talk about a wide adoption of 4K content since the average of resolution being watched on RUclips is around 480p. Still most of the channels and movies being watched at home are in 1080p. I would say 4K has been there for almost 15 years already and we are barely entering this territory. The reason why is because as consumers we really don't care. Additionally the efficiency behind.
The car should not have shown it as an option at all. Besides, it's impossible to know which spot is which in the screen since we don't see any reference to real world.
@@bjornnyland Sometimes you see something like a "P" Pin above ther respective parking spot in the backup or 3D camera, but it does not seem very reproducible
I hate all autoparking and this one is ridiculously slow. Manoeuvring a vehicle is a basic skill required of a driver, if you can't do it and rely on autoparking you shouldn't be driving at all.
Yeah, I think no one cares anymore. I know many owners with cars with autopark, they all claim the same. They never use it. I suppose we are all waiting for the car to drive all by itself and not only autopark haha.
My fat etron is failing horribly in parking spots that doesn't have complelty drawen lines but only the begining of the zones. Easy for humans not so much for this system.
I absolutely LOVE the pop-up cameras as these stay clean in any weather. Sadly less and less cars offer it.

Came here from watching Teslas new autopark feature in 12.3.2.1 FSD. Let`s just say, they are a universe apart in quality.
My 2022 Enyaq can do that as well, but honestly, I mainly forget the feature exists because I use it so rarely
This seems like an interesting new test I would like to see you test on other cars!

try parking in a parking space, where the lines are not white... ID.4 has problems with blue lines for me

Could you talk about the current issues ongoing with Fisker? Seems like there's big troubles

Hello from France: And how does it work between two real cars?
Why not trying on busy parking ith other cars?
Will be interesting to compare against Teslas new autopark feature. The user interface of Tesla looks much better than this.
Why only finding spots on right hand side?!
If there are parking spots to the left and right of the vehicle it should detect both sides, at least in my experience.

I wouldn't compare 4k with 3d (for televisions). 4k is widely adopted and 3d is gone. Very different outcomes.

2:45 it was you that chose that parking spot though. Can't blame the car 🤣
Good point😂
Classic Mercedes driver parking style

Indeed. Parking usually takes 10 seconds. Anything more than that and people in the back are starting to lose their patience and start honking.
like it,,, more auto-shiiit pls
You should have tested the Smart when you had it. I’ll be honest it’s probably the same system plus I never use it. 😮
I will get Smart #3 Brabus next week.

@@AaronStarkLinux I also have a fake engine sound that I never use. And Pet mode and I don’t have a pet🤣
❤❤❤
Tesla would sell this as a full parking potential package or as I would say completely useless yet
The only good test is can it park between two cars.

i need test with almost full parking, not this acres of free space lol
Even my Megane E-Tech does it better. Only thing is that you need to press accel pedal to do it
easy in an empty parking lot
Mercedes, mersedes, metsedes, mircedes, merscedes
Marscedes, Parcedes
Tesla will probably never be able to do this perfectly 😌
❤❤❤
