The thing that really got me was the profile shot when she was in tears after messing up the first routine. All I can see is the deep black circle under her eye - all the stress, fatigue, responsibility, pain in the face of a child. She won so much, but at what cost?
She looked so ethereal, angelical, delicated, graceful & elegant in her routine, and thinking it was at her 14’s makes my eyes tear up a bit, this is poetry in movement.

Why are her routines perfect? The answer is because nothing is missing. There is style, grace, elegance, timing, artistry, power, precision, courage, confidence, composure, concentration and athleticism.
You are pissed because your country did not take the top 1 in the world in gymnastics , btw Romanians invented many stuff, some you use every day like a jet engine for airplane, or pen , or insulin[Nicolae Paulescu was the real creator of insulin (only in some cases) ],or the longest love poem in the world and many things you didnt know about it. @Jason Mason
There was no one and still no one like her. I know Simone Biles kills it and is very technical. But there was a certain level of grace with Nadia no one has had really. Her body was designed for this stuff. That’s why you cry, because she literally turned it into art.
I love this. I know todays gymnast‘s routines have much much MUCH higher difficulties but somehow this looks way more beautiful to me. It‘s a real performance, almost like art…
The equipment is better now also it not hard flaws now also the routines are not harder because most have been band because of danger. It was harder back then.
No one of today’s gymnasts would perform like they do today if it were 1976. They had no safe training equipment at all. Now we go harnesses, cube pools, sangle bars, etc. The class elegance and perfection of the routines were what mattered. Not just the filps. Also, the floor routines used to be so graceful, now…… well, lets go to a hip hop class, well see the floor routines..
Watching her on the balance beam is magical. The commentator doesn't even say anything anymore. He's just in awe. Captured by the beauty of her performance.
Agreed. She set the standard for all the world to see. What she brought to the sport has yet to be replicated. Her focused stoicism, her undeterred discipline, her artistry was purely magical! What a gift she gave us all!
I just realized I was gasping myself - especially as I watched her on the uneven bars. I have no idea what the names are of the moves she performed in her routines but I keep replaying it trying to figure out how this is even real life.
+So I Was Like they did such interesting stuff on the uneven bars back then, when they were positioned closer together. now they are so far apart that they may as well just turn the event into what men's high bar is. I love the moves where they spin around the bar with their waist and then pop back up to do another move. looks like fun too :)
Karamarika. Agreed. It was completely different back then. Elegant. Smooth. Just beautiful to watch 💕 I did prefer it even though gymnasts of today do amazing things.
@@gabrielabagala Thats because they have increased the standards and forced the girls to do more technical routines. They have basically taken the art out of it and made it more of a hardcore sport. Simone probably could have done all of this when she was 10 years old.
I know Phelps got 8 golds. And various others have won a hat full. But i think this has to go down as the greatest performance in any sport in Olympic history.
I actually saw a documentary about it (you can find in YT and I really recommend it to you). And one of her competitors say that with the other girls they were just hilarious because they knew from the beginning that nobody could beat her, and they were shocked by her talent.
People just don’t get how raw the apparatuses we’re back then. No padding. No springs. Just pure gymnastics - beauty, dance, and flawless perfection. I remember my mouth just on the floor. How could it not be.
Treebeard I don’t think it’s rude. I wouldn’t go that far but @song Bird has a point. It’s really not as graceful as it once was. I mean you pit nadias dance routine against Simone and Biles will get it on power. But beauty and grace. Pure joy? Nadia every time.
You are so right. Nadia & Olga Korbut. I could watch them forever. Their footwork, the way they could make their movements look so delicate & intricate. That’s missing today.
@Christian C ha ha roids probably but if caught they are out. No 2nd chances as far as I know so I don't think they'd chance it. More likely excessive weight lifting. We did it all the time in high school. Men? No.
@Christian C I'd have to see to believe however there's a difference between being a male in female gymnastics and being transgender. I've never heard of either in the sport but I'm sure at some point it will come up. As for the body style of gymnasts that can happen for many reasons not the least of which is athletic activity and muscular growth. I only can say in terms of my body - I was muscular in the legs and the shoulders. I was to put it politely - a late bloomer. Maybe others are too.
Not knocking today's gymnasts, they're incredibly talented, but now it's all about how high-fast-hard can I go, but to be able to do things this difficult but still make them appear as graceful and effortless as Nadia did....that's something today's athletes can't even touch.
Honestly, a lot of it has to do with them banning a lot of the moves you see in this video, leaving the sport a bit boring in comparison. Her body structure and the lack of bulky muscle on her also allows her to perform on a lighter foot and more gracefully.
I remember his voice as a child watching sports on a saturday, after cartoons. LOL He was a race car driver, and a sports commentator. He always sounds like this. But Nadia was special, because she WAS perfect! And it WAS amazing!! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackie_Stewart
@@spidermonkeynuts3851 I don't know much about gymnastics, but what you are saying is happening in almost all sports. Athletes are getting better trained in today's more advance and professional environment backed by by improved sports science studies. So I think it would be unfair to compare Nadia's training with the modern training
Even today’s gymnasts would struggle to do these compulsory exercises the way Nadia did. They can do all these skills no doubt, but not with the same quality. Look at how she hit those handstandsz!
Absolute astute, relaxed control. She doesn't even seem to take joy in it. She doesn't play with it. It's so perfect, it's almost without style. She's the student's video of what all of these moves were meant to be. The generic example we had all waited for. Absolute mastery at 14. Incredible.
Tina, those observations you made are brilliant. All I can say is that the work that it takes to reach a certain point like that is so massive that by the time you get there you are just doing it. Its not that it isn't fun anymore or anything like that, it's just that it becomes a part of you. like when you wake in the morning you don't get all excited because you have a right arm. It is just there.
I would have to disagree, I have seen many Olympic gymnasts come down from their routines and going to their coaches with huge grins on their faces because they know they did a good job. I'm not saying she didn't enjoy it, she just didn't seem to show it.
Of course we have to remember that Nadia was born and raised in a communist country. Not saying that people from those countries didn't smile, but it seems that they didn't smile as often. Plus, I think Nadia may have been a bit shy at first and you will notice that she comes back out to the crowd again, stretches her arms out and smiles. If I remember correctly I believe her coach told her she should smile when the crowd was cheering her. So from that point on she always smiled when she was finished.
Notice how much quieter the auditorium and audience was at that time. Now ... its all blaring noise and screams, way too much activity going on around. Comaneci was a special talent and she had leaner muscle mass than most of today's girls. So graceful. I remember her. She was magic.
It's just opinion. I have to agree, it's called artistic gymnastics and just like in ballet it's an art form and should be pleasing to the eye. It should be pleasing to the eye, and for some people the lines that are made when they see gymnasts really matter. A lot of muscle can sometimes disrupt the line, which is why you don't see many ballet dancers with huge leg muscles. Again, it's my opinion and explanation.
+Arts inthe Stars That is the whole point. They have lost the graceful artistry of movement, in place of power and strength. I prefer watching this. Irrelevant of their physical appearance.
Well that outlook of an ideal body type is what discredit young girls for pursuing ballet professionally and gladly a person like misty copeland didn't listen to the naysayers because she's an inspiration to tons of young girls and a staple in her own right. Your opinion is rightfully yours but you need to be aware how it limits the opportunities of others that could be just as amazing or in simone's case better. plus, if you're looking for sleek and less muscular body types take a look a rhythmic gymnastic there is more of a focus on dance and ballet technique there.
And those kind of thoughts is why gymnasts, ballerinas and ice skaters have a higher rate of bulimia and anorexia than other sports. Nadia is graceful and lands beautifully but she doesn't do the huge jumps that they do now. That type of work takes a lot of muscle and muscle is bulky.
I still dont think there is a gymnast today who can replicate her routines with the absolute perfection Nadia did. Yes, there is more difficulty today..But noone has attempted and succeeded at performing these routines with the precision and perfection she did. Im 43. I was 6 when I watched these games. I was one of the many flocking the gyms immediately after. Thanks to Nadia I have been involved in and have loved this sport for so many years. I now have a 13yr old daughter competing and loving it even more than I. Thanks Nadia xo and thanks for making this awesome "trip down memory lane" video :)
i saw simone biles on the bars....oh God she is so heavy, too much present....she will be unable to do what Nadia did at this time going from the first to the second bar or inversely so quickly....it s just so amazing. She looks like slipping but with a total control. that s amazing. i talked about Simone because she is one the best in our days,,,,but so far away from Nadia. Simone is nice to see on Floor. That s it.
The 1976 Nadia is the best there has ever been on the balance beam. In competition, no other gymnast has ever done Nadia's extremely difficult aerial cartwheel into back handspring combination. I watched Simone Biles balance beam performance in the 2016 Olympics and her performance was not as difficult. And, Nadia was 3 inches taller making balance more difficult and she performed on the more slippery, non-padded, less springy wood beam. Furthermore, Nadia had better balance and was more elegant. After 1976, even Nadia didn't do that difficult combination; likely because her additional height made balancing so much more difficult. However, she might have with a modern padded, non-slippery, springier balance beam.
In all honesty, most world class gymnast can do these routines. The amount of difficulty that gymnast do today is far above this. Nothing against Nadia, but to say gymnast of today can't do what Nadia did when Nadia is doing much less difficult routines is ridiculous.
Nadia wouldn't make the Olympic team today and Simone wouldn't make the Olympic team in Nadia's time because they are different sports requiring much different body types--short and compact vs. elegant. The only elite gymnasts today that could have made the Olympic team in 1976 are rhythmic gymnasts. With all the rule and equipment changes, unless she was training to be a world class rhythmic gymnasts, today the 6 year old Nadia would be training to be an elite ice skater (with her exceptional balance and body shape Nadia would be perfect for that), or a prima ballerina assoluta.
It isn't just the technical perfection that makes these performances stand out, it was her ability to make the routines beautiful. Not many gymnasts have the aesthetic abilities of dancers. That said, this was the real start of bringing to competitions very very young girls, who are desperately small and terribly unhealthily thin - that was something not to be applauded. Olga Korbet said that even the amount of water she was allowed to drink was controlled. It had to be measured, and was strictly rationed. She said she was starving all the time. There is no excuse for putting young girls under that kind of physical and mental pressure.
You're exactly right. Lost in many routines today is the art of grace, displayed perfectly here, over the pursuit of pure athleticism, which is not the same.
What you're looking at is those with a deep understanding of their subject, each exercise, which they expound with consummate perfection. Others do similar things in many other fields - Craig Wright's The Hidden Habits of Genius is one text examining the broader sense.
Nadia really is a magical woman 💖 I did gymnastics when I was a little girl and I loved watching her over and over and dreaming how amazing she must have felt! 🥰
@Elizabeth Marie yes and she’s consistently perfectly balanced, even on bars. It’s incredible. And I know, it’s for the greater good but man I wish I could see some of today’s athletes pull those moves off in competition.
@Chris C no. the original comment didn’t make sense because they’re saying that the perfect 10 system doesn’t exist anymore but technically it does, because the execution score is still scored out of a 10.
@@ottovonmier7089 I don't know of any skill that she performed to be banned but I know that the flying from the high bar to the low bar, after grabbing the high one with crossed hands and turning around, and then swinging back to the high bar is an element (or is it called skill?) that bears her name. I don't know exactly the name for it but I remember a commentator saying that now one attempts that because it's difficulty and risks, especially after Nadia herself failed to grab the upper bar attempting to do this routine in Moscow, 1980, in the preliminaries. She fell and laid down all the 7 inches of height that she added since Montreal due to her natural growth. She then did her best to close the gap between her and Elena Davydova but she fell short and took just silver.
Nadia is one of those talents that comes along only once, not in just a lifetime, but ever. There's been no one to ever match her, and no one ever will. Take a good look at these videos, because you will never see anything like her again. The balance beam is known as the "purgatory" of women's gymnastics, yet she is in perfect balance and dominates that beam like no one else. You could have given her a two-inch wide beam and a 6-inch beam for her competition, and she still would have outperformed them.
I have yet seen anyone do the balance beams like Nadia. You can see their apprehension and hesitation but Nadia was fearless. I am not certain that girl is human!
She's the best and by a rather wide margin. I don't really no squat about gymnastics but immediately you can tell this girl is different than what we even see today in the sport. There is literally no tension in her body during these routines, it's freaking remarkable. What she does on the balance beam, literally every movement, is connected like a dance. Her fluidity, posture. and grace is what completely sets her apart not to mention she sticks every landing. If she competed in today's era she would dominate with increased training and strength to jump higher. But anyone who says Nadia is not the greatest gymnast ever is pretty fking stupid. You can tell in 20 secs watching her on the beam.
No offense to Simone Biles, but this girl is the greatest of all time. Simone may have more medals and titles, but Nadia was PERFECTION. Watching her is a mesmerizing art.
Sadly, her private life was not as happy as her public life. She had a really rough time getting out of Romania. My family fled Communism too. It makes me sad to see people in America wanting to give up their freedom and individual liberty in lieu of Socialism/Communism ideas. If they had to REALLY live with every aspect of their lives controlled by government, and the rationing, they would see things differently. This is not the America my Grandparents wanted anymore.
Nadia is the all time best gymnast. There are harder skills today but if she was a gymnast today she would have done them. i have never seen another gymnast perform with such fluency and perfection.
There will always be better gymnasts but none leave me spellbound like Nadia. Simone is an outstanding gymnast. However, I am not impressed when an extremely short gymnast can rotate faster than another gymnast that is taller. Of course the judges give the scores, but what an short gymnast does when she rotates faster and appears to have greater balance, it not actually more difficult. It is just physics.
@@kelleynice7968 what? That makes no sense. Simone is not the shortest gymnast to compete. If it was just physics you would see more gymnast at her level. Simone is talented, skilled, and hard working. And that is why she bests her competition by 6 points not physics.
from a small far away country a 14 year old girl startles the worlds with her perfect gymnastics. Its like seing an angel fly through the air. She will always be #10. Beautiful. Unforgetable.
I appreciate the skill and athleticism of today's women's gymnastics but Nadia's flawless execution showed the world unmatchable elegance and grace. Prior to the 1976 Olympic's male gymnastics were the highlight event with the female events considered to be a poor or second tier representation of the sport. Nadia Comeneci's spectacular performance took women's gymnastics to forever dominate the sport leaving the men's competition to eat dust ever since.
No Olga Korbut made women's gymnastics really popular and introduced moves never done before. So women's gymnastics were highlighted since 1972. Before that some coverage as Natalia Kuchinskaya was the darling of Mexico but more Olga.
I am not comparing anyone, however, Korbut was the one who first brought athleticism to the women's gymnastics. Her skills are still used today and some were considered dangerous enough to be banned. But Nadia was and still is perfection.
I thought I saw somewhere in an interview that since no one had gotten a 10, the scoreboard wasn't capable of showing a 10.0, so Nadia at first thought she'd only scored a 1 😂
That is exactly what happened. I was watching this live. While waiting for the results, the commentators guessed what the score would be, 9.8, 9.9?? 🤷♀️ When it came back 1.00 we were all 😲😲😲😲 The coaches, the gymnasts, the commentators were outraged. Quickly they learned it was 10.0 but, as no-one had ever received a perfect score before, the scoreboard was not designed to show it. I'm a bit sad that was not included in this video but then it was more about the sport than Nadia herself.
That's exactly what happened. After seeing the 1.0, her coach was making his way to the judge's table to yell at them when someone stopped him saying she got a 10.
I remember watching this live! She was the darling of the Olympics. No one cared if she was the competition . It was like watching perfection personified!
No one else has ever matched her perfection. There's been many very good ones since but none have matched her. Thank you Nadia for showing us what the very pinnacle of perfection looks like.
A girl her young age accomplishing such techniques to perfection is just superhuman. Even by today's standards, she's the greatest gymnasts ever. Today's gymnasts have greater athleticism but lack the grace she had. She had no fear.
I'm most impressed by her artistry-- her pointed toes, long elegant lines, the fluidity of her motions, her poise and poetry. Combine that with also the greatest technical skill the world had seen up to that point, and it's little wonder she got 7 perfect 10s.
If you compare this to what had been done in say, 1968, there is no comparision. As much as I like the gymnasts of that time. they couldn't compare to Olga K and Nadia C. In just a few short years!
If you watch carefully there’s zero deviation in her balance, it looks almost unreal, like she’s pinned. Incredible stuff. I can remember watching these Olympics I was 10.
Nearly 50 years later and this is still breathtaking to watch. She was beautiful and mesmerising. No gymnast has ever come close to this performance. And Nadia was only 14 at the time. An absolute legendary gymnast.
The first bars routine is my favorite I’ve ever seen. She is absolute perfection and the way she flies off the bars at the end looks like a sparrow in flight. Absolutely beautiful!!
I saw her live on TV. It was magical. I also remember the confusion when she got her first 10, as the score board lacked a digit. Nobody had anticipated the possibility.
I love biles...but look at these performance...what a grace...great control...no rush no flaw...just beautiful...which you will not find in todays gymanist..even tho biles is #1 now..nd i do love her moves..such a talented girl..but i love this girl more for tha flawless performace..even in the beam
While Simone can't do a flawless routine, look at the difficulty of what she does. hell she created her own flip for the floor exercise where, because of the physics behind it, she is blind...both are really talented.
Chantey Mann Simone could perform Nadia's routine but not with the same grace and emotion. If Nadia had the same age at this time she would be so much better than Simone.
recentral48 ...I agree... her UB moves with those awesome pirouettes from high bar to low we’re not only executed with such precision, grace and perfection but we’re extremely difficult... unseen or unmatched by any gymnast then or now... her and Olga were other-worldly...!
I don’t care how much more difficult the moves they do today are compared to then. I would still rather watch Nadia than ANY other gymnast even after all of these years. When that girl was on the balance beam you never felt like she was going to fall. She did it with a grace you just don’t see today. Smooth as silk! No one has come close to Nadia. Never will! She was one of a kind! Not to mention she was cute as a button.
She is unquestionably the greatest ever. There is no substitute for grace and artistry. Nadia quintessentially is all of that and there hasn't been anyone close to her since she dominated gymnastics.
@@jcarreon1983jc Agreed. All the power and height they get now doesn't matter if the feet aren't pointed and the legs aren't straight when they should be.😏

wow was that girl good or what looking back on it now Nadia is the best still to this day. A supper star at 14 she showed the whole world what perfection was in her craft. thank you Nadia.
Though the rules, the material used for the equipment involved etc are all different then and now, this kid showed the world the grace and beauty of this sport. She secured a perfect score. She is my all time favourite ❤
that balance beam routine, not the hint of one wobble, it's as if she was walking on the floor. She was at one with her own body. I remember the whole world was talking about Nadia!
Super confident and the grace and technique are perfect. No wobbles on the beam. Dismounts are hard to land perfectly. She takes a step on her second beam routine dismount. Luckily back then, they gave perfect tens even with visible errors. I think that's good. Other things can make up for slight mistakes. Gymnasts with hops here and there would get perfect tens back in the day.
QPHashSS77 I think they do. It’s all well and good to throw yourself full pelt into the hardest tricks you know but if they look like a mess once landed then what’s the fun in that as a spectator. Spectators want to be wowed by how easy the gymnast makes it look. We know what they do is hard and beyond what we can do. But to see those tricks done so elegantly and gracefully as if it was as easy as walking, now that impressive to watch. That’s why Simone Biles big floor trick was so cool to watch. She made a big trick that not many can do look like cake and all our jaws dropped. I’m sure another gymnasts can do that same trick but not as impressively as Simone because she makes it look easy.
@@ridelikeagirlaus8751 Very true! However Simone lost the gold medal to Sanne Wevers because Wevers chose artistry over difficult skills and put a less complicated routine together, which was still competitive! I hope Simone learns her lesson: less can be more! Simone's wolf turn cost her while Sanne's pirouettes stole the show!
2 diametrically oposed styles, Simone is pure power, speed, perfection and no emotion nor feminism at all on the other hand Nadia is pure grace, artistry and poetry in motion!

This is far more interesting to watch for me than any of today’s high flying power gymnastics. It’s kinda like today’s body builders vs classic era... it just lacks beauty.
The world had never seen the perfection and artistry Nadia Comenici brought to Gymnastics. She was extraordinary and I’m not sure there will ever be a moment like Nadia’s again in my lifetime.
I am romanian and I am proud cause I was born in this little but good one country. Very well Nadia Comaneci you made me proud to be part of this country.❤️❤️❤️
Her beam routine was just magnificent. Well, all her routines were. What's crazy is that a lot of things she did on beam are considered to be very easy moves now, but at the time she was very advanced. Regardless of the era, her execution was and still is stunning, and her lines and form were and still are beyond words. Even doing a simple back handspring on the beam she looks utterly amazing. That arched back, wow. She had such incredibly gorgeous body position and movement, with every single thing she did. Really nothing like it. Lovely and true perfection. (Disclaimer: I was a competitive gymnast, and yes, a back handspring on the beam now is a very basic move).
This perfection was performed on equipment without springs, or shocks. The bars were hard and she mastered them. This woman, without a doubt is the epitome of perfection. She's my hero. None other than her is the greatest of all time. Nobodys beat her yet. Nobody. Including Simone biles. She's good but Nadia is the best

+So I Was Like they did such interesting stuff on the uneven bars back then, when they were positioned closer together. now they are so far apart that they may as well just turn the event into what men's high bar is. I love the moves where they spin around the bar with their waist and then pop back up to do another move. looks like fun too :)

@@gabrielabagala Thats because they have increased the standards and forced the girls to do more technical routines. They have basically taken the art out of it and made it more of a hardcore sport. Simone probably could have done all of this when she was 10 years old.

Imagine those poor athletes competing against her
I actually saw a documentary about it (you can find in YT and I really recommend it to you).

Lost Traveler but it’s not a fraction as beautiful or artistic. It’s just hulking muscle-bound girls all doing the same thing without a hint of grace.
I totally agree!!
I'd say that's more due to how the sport is organized now rather than because of the athletes themselves.
Honestly, a lot of it has to do with them banning a lot of the moves you see in this video, leaving the sport a bit boring in comparison. Her body structure and the lack of bulky muscle on her also allows her to perform on a lighter foot and more gracefully.

All of this remarks are so firm and exquisite, quite fine.
bon bon baguette, quite fine.
No one beats her record so far. Nadia is the best gymnast in the history up to this time !!!! ❤

Notice how much quieter the auditorium and audience was at that time. Now ... its all blaring noise and screams, way too much activity going on around. Comaneci was a special talent and she had leaner muscle mass than most of today's girls. So graceful. I remember her. She was magic.
Because they need the muscle to do the more difficult tumbling and is there something wrong with their bodies? There's no need for body shaming
Thanks Nadia xo and thanks for making this awesome "trip down memory lane" video :)
true and the materials are different now the floor for example, makes you go up easily...
i saw simone biles on the bars....oh God she is so heavy, too much present....she will be unable to do what Nadia did at this time going from the first to the second bar or inversely so quickly....it s just so amazing.
The very reason I became a gymnast. Greatest ever.
me too
Same
Me too!! She is very inspiring.
One wonders how they managed to do all these routines without enough energy. Very tragic and it has to stop.
She turned the routines into art.
@@hildegerdhaugen7864 yes. that's exactly right
You're exactly right.

This young lady set the bar so high , Olympic Committee had to change their rulings. No longer 10 is the standard.
lol the 'ten' remained the standard until after athens. wtf u on?
That "standard" went on for another thirty plus years. Nadia didn't cause shit. And all the people who liked your comment are idiots.
@Chris C no. the original comment didn’t make sense because they’re saying that the perfect 10 system doesn’t exist anymore but technically it does, because the execution score is still scored out of a 10.
She moves like a bird; graceful, light, quick and strong. I don't see this combination in gymnastics anymore.
Annette because gymnastics changes over the years understand that
And some of her "moves"/"elements" idk the term are banned
@Angry Grizzly talking rubbish as usual
Her first routine on the uneven bars dismount looks like she's a flying squirrel! Amazing!

AJ Rocha You wouldn't know because she's in our time period.

Prior to the 1976 Olympic's male gymnastics were the highlight event with the female events considered to be a poor or second tier representation of the sport. Nadia Comeneci's spectacular performance took women's gymnastics to forever dominate the sport leaving the men's competition to eat dust ever since.

Gymnasts with hops here and there would get perfect tens back in the day.
Modern gymnastics has gained athleticism but lost the grace. But Nadia was really young and younger, lighter gymnasts have and advantage.
Life with Dante yep but now you can not compete at age 14
Yeah but she was taller, way taller which gives her such a big disadvantage
So true
Grace. Power. Poise. I have never again seen its equal. The entire world was stunned and rightly so. She earned all those 10's!
2 diametrically oposed styles, Simone is pure power, speed, perfection and no emotion nor feminism at all on the other hand Nadia is pure grace, artistry and poetry in motion!
and to think 5-6 of her moves are now considered illegal's in this event, she was crazy. I love it :3
I counted 27 different movements where I would have broken my back for sure.
Only 27?
Thx for counting :D
@@kreggkraus4219 yeah the other ones I wouldn't even be able to put off lol
@@jana731 lol I learnt abt women’s gymnastics through 2020 olympics and now I can say it’s the greatest sport I have layed eyes on
@@Arslanaslam2007 its pretty cool but I love fighting especially MMA but I really hope it never gets olympic, you can already see with boxing that the soul of the sport is just torn out there, most fighting just isn't for Olympic
I was like nah she couldn't have gotten a 10, I bet a find a flaw. This girl is flawless!
This is far more interesting to watch for me than any of today’s high flying power gymnastics. It’s kinda like today’s body builders vs classic era... it just lacks beauty.
hardfugoo agreed
I actually agree with this!!! Grace is what made gymnastics beautiful to watch!!!
Even though Biles is from another world, i don't enjoy her, i feel like since Ponor retired there's no other classy gymnast
@@adrianoana6025 Totally agree!
Agreeeeeeeeee!!!!
she was a phenomenon in gymnastics....she will be in history for ever,,!!
When the beauty of the performance transcends the technique, and all you experience is the beauty.
The world had never seen the perfection and artistry Nadia Comenici brought to Gymnastics. She was extraordinary and I’m not sure there will ever be a moment like Nadia’s again in my lifetime.
She set the bar so high, still the best.
Thank you for adding that your a gymnast.... it was getting weird for a minute there
You said it ALL!!!!💯💥
This perfection was performed on equipment without springs, or shocks. The bars were hard and she mastered them.
This woman, without a doubt is the epitome of perfection.
She's my hero.
None other than her is the greatest of all time.
Nobodys beat her yet. Nobody. Including Simone biles. She's good but Nadia is the best
You speak the truth
I watched Nadia Comăneci live in 76 and she was absolutely perfection! I'm still a fan all these years later.
Certainly, the Olympics has lost this level of elegance.
Simone Biles and Gabby Douglas have all the elegance
@@kimofdiamondz just them?
@@kimofdiamondz Biles has nothing at all

Biles is and will always be an amazing and grateful athlete, wether you like it or not. And Biles too has as her inspiration Nadia.
some of this moviments become forbidden bc an athlete broked her neck and get paralyzed in the 80's
they were beautiful, but dangerous as hell
