The same thing that happened to me. I wanted to get more gas containers and my wife was complaining “ you already have 4, why do you need more? “ I told her you just never know. She still complained. So I didn’t get any more.
A few weeks later Super Storm Sandy hit and we was out of power for about 10 days. But I was the only one with a generator and 20 gallons of gas on hand. But after the fourth day, my wife had to go wait on these gas lines with people that are just filling up containers. So you couldn’t wait in a car in 40 degree weather. I met her after work and she told me “ I will never say anything about your preps again. “
There’s a reasoning behind the madness.

It’s always a good idea to be prepared! You really don't realize how important it is until it happens to you and you have to live it, I remember going through Hurricane Andrew in '92 as well. We lived near LSU at that time. Sometimes we don’t realize the importance of having extra supplies until it’s too late. Glad to hear you were ready for the storm! Thanks for sharing. Thanks for watching and always, Be Prepared!

Wait, grow vegetables in two months? Impossible! The seeding take 2 months to start growing. Then it takes another two month to three months to get vegetables .

It doesn't take that long for seeds to sprout, as for as vegetables, we still have tomatoes, strawberries and lettuce producing that we planted in the spring. Our compost pile is always putting off new plants. And we have a creek running through the back of our 5 acres.

@@SurvivalScope101 I grow vegetables every year. It take between a week to 2 weeks for seeds to sprout. Then you need to wait close to 2 months before seeing any vegetables. From seed to a plant producing anything takes over 2 months. Shoot! Everyone would love to grow veggies in two months 😂. But herbs are different, but you can’t really live off of just herbs.

Bush beans typically take 40-60 days to grow from planting to harvest:
Germination: Bush bean seeds germinate in about seven days.
Flowering: Small white flowers will form, followed by pods that are visibly growing about a week later.
Harvesting: Pick the beans when they are about 3-5 inches long and crisp, but before the beans inside are swollen and round. Beans are more tender and flavorful when picked young.
In the South, summer squash typically takes 35 to 45 days to mature from planting to harvest, depending on the variety and growing conditions; most gardeners can expect to harvest their first summer squash within this timeframe.
Key points about growing summer squash in the South:
      Quick growth:
Summer squash is a fast-growing crop, meaning you can harvest fruits relatively quickly after planting.
      Warm weather:
As a warm-season vegetable, it thrives in the southern climate and can be planted earlier in the season compared to other regions.
      Harvesting young:
Always harvest summer squash while they are still small and tender, before the seeds become hard.
Sweet corns also are divided into varieties that mature early (65 to 70 days), midseason (70 to 80 days), and late (80 or more days).
Hundreds of tomato varieties exist to suit every climate, garden site and taste. There are tomatoes that ripen in 55 days and varieties that require three months of hot weather to produce their crop. Some produce vines that will sprawl 25 feet if not maintained by pruning, while others are only 8 inches high at maturity. Fruit range in size from as small as marbles to as large as grapefruits. And the array of colors!
Cucumbers can take 50-70 days to grow in the south, depending on the variety:
      When to plant
Sow seeds after the last frost and when the soil temperature is at least 70°F.
      How to plant
Sow seeds 1/2-3/4 in deep, 6 in apart, and allow 2-3 ft between rows. Thin to 10-15 in apart after seedlings emerge.
      When to harvest
Cucumbers are ready to harvest 50-70 days after planting. Harvest frequently every 1-3 days to maintain good production.
      How to harvest
Cut the stem 1/4 in above the fruit. Cucumbers taste best when harvested immature and before they turn yellow and bitter.

@@SurvivalScope101 yes, beans do grow fast. But like I said. You really can’t grow vegetables in two months. From seed to vegetables in two months is impossible.

Turnips can take 45-90 days to mature, depending on the variety and growing conditions. Some varieties of turnips that grow well in the South include:
      Purple Top White Globe
A traditional American variety that matures in 50 days. The roots are white below the soil and purple above.
      White Egg Turnip
A fast-growing variety that matures in 48 days. The roots are egg-shaped and grow partly above the ground.
Seven Top (Southern Prize) Turnip Greens
A popular Southern variety that matures in 45 days. It's grown for the greens, not the roots.
