  • Fire-Eye Development Inc. is a boutique pedal making company based in Austin Texas, USA that may not be all that well known to a lot of people, however it was clear when reading customer reviews and forum posts that many gigging musicians swear by their Red-Eye Preamp DI.

Love this pedal but, they need to switch xlr and the effects loops around. Don't know why they put them backwards but, this is a pain in the ass to wire a pedal board with.

Sounds great!! Where would I place this in my pedal chain for live performance? Here are the pedals I am planning to use with my Taylor 816ce (in no particular order):
    - Boss tuner
    - lr baggs Session (or other compressor-- haven't made the final decision yet)
    - Fender Smolder
    - Boss OC-5
Thank you for your excellent demo!!

Hey Stephen, not sure if you got any replies elsewhere for this, i use the their twin (love it) and use this first in my chain and then use the FX send/Return loops. So everything gets the preamp "boosted' sound which works better for the pedals i use.

Would like to hear the guitar strummed with a pick. That’s the real test of tone.
