This is an old ritual song about an orphan bride. The girl has no parents. The river was considered the boundary between the world of the living and the dead. She goes to the river and asks for the blessing of marriage, she says that there are many people at home, but there is no father and mother. You hear Diana singing in a whisper, this is the words of the deceased mother answering her daughter.

There is such a category of songs in Russian folklore - they are called Cry (from the word cry), they were sung by brides at weddings and it was necessary to cry to appease evil spirits and demons. The band Heilung has already conceptualized this type of performances: an amplified history. Google it! I strongly suppose if Diana could dig it through her future career, it would be so powerful for creating a new source for Russian soft power.. Diana could be the Medium for it, as many of Scandinavian experimental folk collectives. She is able to become Elvis Presley of this direction..

The title of the song is Rechenka (réh-chen-ka) means Small River, where "che" reads like in a word "che-ck", not "sh". Diana sings an old Russian folkloric song.

It is a haunting poem in Russian (or Ukrainian?), definitely spooky, so you caught that even without knowing what she was saying! This is one of her gifts, to make people who don't understand the words coming out of her mouth, but still *feel* the meaning! Her other gift, of course, being her *amazing* singing ability.
