Thanks again for your comments and time for Diana. FYI this song touches upon a very serious subject. Dernière Danse is about the emotions that a young immigrant woman feels in Paris, having to cope with racism and discrimination day in and day out after being kicked out of her home and boy friend leaving. Raising her arms towards the middle of the song, she just wants to fly away from the constant torment. Diana like the lyric, is also a child of the world..........

With this "harpoon" Diana impresses almost everyone from the first seconds ... and attracts the listener, up to the last second of the performance ... And the spectator has only to "helplessly" allow her to pull herself out of the zone of the already familiar world vocal - into the zone of her element ... into the zone of Diana's musical tornado ...! I believe the theatrics she does before singing is inspired by the original music video of this song by Indila (another great singer btw, well worth a reaction). The original of this song also has a bittersweet feel to it, even more so as Indila has a very high sweet register in her voice, yet conveys a lot of sadness in the song and in the visuals of the video. Diana stays very true to the original feeling of the song, but of course the heavy emotional weight of her voice pulls the song down a lot. It's still very cool to listen to, and for many people this is her calling card, was the first song she performed in front of Igor Krutoy in the "You are Super" show, at age 14, not far off in time from the performance reacted to here.
I hope the reaction to wicked game clears. I wait also for reactions to Rechenka and Dune ;)

One of my favorites by her is from the "Show Mask Go On" entitled "Oh, It's Not Yet Evening" ruclips.net/video/cfTiQkJrLi0/видео.html. It's an over 300 year old folk song about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song.
I'm not sure how many people appreciate the emotional gasps she produces here that absolutely melt me.
You constantly write the wrong thing - "Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle". This is absolutely wrong - the fact is that the correct name of the song is “Stenka Razin’s Dream” (“Oh, it’s not evening yet” - the name of the song according to its first lines). Stenka (Stepan) Razin is a rebellious Cossack chieftain of the 17th century, whose uprising was a strong shock for the Russian state and is firmly preserved in the memory of the people. His bloody rebellion was suppressed and he himself was executed in Moscow in 1671. And the meaning of the song is precisely in Razin’s prophetic dream - the loss of his hat foreshadows the loss of his head (Razin have been beheaded), which was explained to him in the song by his subordinate esaul (a Cossack officer of the middle rank)

You wrote about the premonition of death in battle of an abstract Cossack, but in fact the song is about a very specific and real historical figure, Stepan Razin (1630 - 1671), captured for rebellion and publicly executed (quartered and beheaded) on June 6, 1671 on Red Square in Moscow. If you think that these are the same thing, then I can no longer help you in restoring your cognitive and logical abilities 🙂

There are two songs I would like to recommend to you of hers that is completely different and that you will absolutely be amazed by the first one is called. In my Huge City it is a jazz type song that was created from Russian poem I believe from the 1800s. And the next one is a song that she wrote and created on her own called.

Some clarification about the 1800s - the poem “In a Huge City” was written by the famous Russian poetess Marina Tsvetaeva in 1916, these verses are part of her cycle of poems “Insomnia”
Song is about dancing away your sorrow, hence it is both sad and dancy.
If you want other versions the original one from "You are Super!" or the one from the "Good Wave" festival are the obvious picks.
The french original song by Indila was an international success and the music video collected 1 billion 100 millions view so far.

Greetings from Scotland! For me personally, this is her best early performance of this song! By this time it had already been modified slightly at the start and it added another facet to an already beautiful performance. I love the pause in the middle where Diana spreads her arms wide and looks to the heavens before powering back into the song again!

Derniere Danse is an AMAZING song and I have only heard two people sing it. I have LOVED it since the first time I saw the MV by the original artist, Indila (you can find it on her YT channel. It is likely her biggest, most widely-known song and MV). The lyrics are haunting but Indila is a Pop singer so it sounds much different than this. Diana's version is completely a different song even though the lyrics are the same; she really made it her own.
I love it so much, I honestly cannot choose one performer's version over the other. I love both, it's just so awesome!
Diana has performed this live many times so there are several videos of the same song across a few years worth of time. She never fails to impress with this one. :)
