I have put together many PSA built lower receivers with BCA uppers, and they have been awesome! BCA is making great stuff and rifles that people are looking for in so many calibers, like he said the items are a great price! And they have great customer service they get it fixed and back in a week or less! I have people refer to Anderson AR-15s as "Poverty Ponys" and turn their noses up at PSA or Bear Creek so they can brag about what expensive things they have. Then later they can't outshoot the competition shooters at the range that are using standard ammo and standard firearms who are just having fun and socializing with other shooters I really enjoy seeing the Barney Fifes who have all the high-speed holster and gear and a stack of gun publications who talk a big game but when the old pros leave them in the dust! Milspec is, more than most people will ever need most people can't outperform their firearm.
That's not what I've heard. I just watched a video that was posted 3 weeks ago where he tried out 2 or 3 different uppers and he had either light or no primer strikes after just 60 or so rounds. The second upper had multiple FTF, FTE and progressed to increasingly worse stove-pipe jams. So I'm conflicted on whether BCA is really any good. I've heard other videos reporting QC issues where barrel nuts and various screws holding things together were loose!
PLEASE offer a 7.5" 300BLK right side charging upper with a 1:7 twist, and PLEASE change your handguards so they stop with the top rail, allowing proper access to the barrel threads & allowing a suppressor to be threaded on without hitting the handguard; these two changes would make a Bear Creek side charging upper PERFECT for my needs. Thanks!
Excellent information 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I recently purchased a BCA 300 Blackout 16" upper /barrel combo. A few people tried to burst my bubble telling me negative things, but I also have seen great reviews about it. I will test it soon.
Good info. Just do a dope card on each lot of rounds you do when you're changing bullet weights . A good chronograph is golden . I know I forget and pull8ng a cards make life EZ.
I just bought a 300BO Parkerized Heavy Barrel | 1:8 Twist from you guys, I was wondering what thread pitch is the barrel so I can get the appropriate muzzle device for it? Thank you!
Not entirely true. The Subsonics (in my case the 220g) had issues with a normal .223 magazine. there is a specific .300BLK Magazine now because of this problem.
My bear creek 7.5 side charger won't cycle subsonic 300 blackout. I've tried an adjustable gas block and h2 buffer. Still will only pick up a round or two before failing to feed the next one. What to try next?
your gas port needs to be in .095-1.25 range if you trying to shoot subs without a suppressor. Since you already have AGB, I would recommend getting it to the 1.25, you can always use the AGB (preferably bleed off version AGB) to decrease gas if needed.
Just built a 300blk 10.5" pistol using a side charging upper from BCA and a PSA lower with a standard buffer. My question is up to what weight bullet should I expect reliable cycling 110, 125, 150? The pistol is unsuppressed. The reason I'm asking is there doesn't seem to be a lot of dwell time with a short barrel and I don't know if the gas port is enlarged to compensate. Thank you
I just went to the BCA website and am interested in a 16 in complete upper with a stainless steel barrel. Going by your recommendation I would like a pistol length gas system but BCA doesn't seem to have that configuration available. I understand that you can't have every single combination available but I liked your explanation as to why you recommend a pistol length gas system. Do you think BCA will come out with a 16 inch complete upper with a stainless steel barrel and pistol length gas system in .300 Blackout? Thanks for the video, great job.
I have two BCA uppers. One is a 7.5" 300BO right side charging, the other is a 16" 300BO right side charging. Both are 1 moa shooters, both are smooth, and both are reliable. What more can you ask for?
@@pissywilly Yes, in fact I have had zero failures from either one. I load 9 grains of H110 behind a Hornady 208 grain A-Max it cycles it 100% and anything commercially loaded as well.
@ronalddavidson829 my bear creek 7.5 will not cycle subsonic. I've added an adjustable gas block and tried every setting and recently an H2 buffer. Really frustrating. These are 200 grain subs. It might fire two or 3 then won't strip the next round.
@@pissywilly I am so sorry, is it a rifle length buffer tube or a pistol length buffer tube? Mine is a rifle length buffer tube. Maybe the slow stacking weight of the spring allows it to cycle.
@ronalddavidson829 yes mine is a pistol length. I guess I could try switching to a rifle length. I just ordered a 300 blackout spring so ill try that. Not enjoying throwing money at it. It's a great gun with the faster ammo. Maybe I'll pick up a bolt gun for the subsonic ammo that I have.
Hey Patrick, sorry to hear that! Send an email to bcatech@bearcreekarsenal.com with details such as type of ammo used and product SKU and they will help you out
I'm having the same issue currently the closest thing I've came too is having to buy a lightweight buffer spring which sucks. But with the standard 5.56 spring it would fire one round but not even eject it
I just ordered a 7.62x39 AR upper from BCA because the ammo for the .300 blk upper is priced too high in my area and even on line. I can buy 7.62x51 cheaper.
I purchased mine back I'm August and I got around to shooting it. And it doesn't cycle properly, I'm not sure why, the gas tube was loose, I use the recommended 110 grain, I emailed the company and still haven't gotten a reply yet, which I emailed Monday, not being a dick, I've been genuinely excited to use the rifle and it won't even work.
Get a Strike industries 10 inch, flat wire spring for AR pistol. I spent a few months thinking mine was under gassed because of short stroking . Popped that in and it cycled full power right away. Had to add a heavier buffer and adjustable gas block after that to cut down the recoil a bit.
My Bear Creek 300 Blackout 16" complete upper has a low gas problem, All 147/220 grain brass ejects over my right shoulder when it does cycle which is only when shooting one round at a time, simi auto doesn't cycle at all. I didn't buy this to be forced to purchase a suppressor. Also when dry firing charging the factory and after market bolts don't always go into battery, it feels like something is dragging the bolts. It is a rough and unusually slow, thus causing a failure to go into battery. I've used the same bolts' on my other AR's with smooth solid battery function. Not the Bear Creek. I'm not happy.
At the shooter's ear, there's almost no noticable difference. The unsuppressed subsonics will not produce the sonic crack down range like the supers will, that's about it. Also, the subs *may* have a hard time cycling when unsuppressed depending on how the gas system is tuned. In my opinion, there's really no good reason to shoot the subs unsuppressed. Yeah, it's a heavier round but remember the formula for kinetic energy is ½mv² so the higher velocity of the supers more than makes up for their lower mass. In my experience, the 300BO subs fired through a suppressed AR are not "Hollywood quiet" (nothing is) but, the loudest part of that gun will be action. 👍🏻
I've been looking into getting one of your rifels. I'm interested in the 5.56. I can't figure out who around me has an FFL license. I live in Missouri. I'm areginaly from NC, so I'm happy to support my state. Can you help me find out who has an FFL license?
@@Bear_Creek_Arsenal one more question: How are you supposed to replace the brake? My armorer's wrench does not fit due to the length of the handguard. Do I need to take off the handguard in order to install?
@John Barron I built a 10.5” specifically for a compact brush gun for deer under 50 yards. Certainly helps save on blowing through ammo as a designated hunting rig. I have about 150 rounds that should last me a long while.
