    Carole King really is one of the greatest American songwriters of all time. She's up there with Gershwin, Rogers and Hammerstein etc. That is not an exaggeration.

    God I loved the artists from the 70's... Carol King, Carly Simon, James Taylor, Karen Carpenter to name a few... it was an era like no other with raw talent... no auto tune, etc. I miss it terribly.

    Got the vinyl, the audio cassette, the cd, and for years now, the video on RUclips. 1971, had a Southeast Asian trip sponsored by Uncle Sam. The woman I loved dumped me for a draft dodger. This tune brings sad memories, yet, I play it every week.

    I had a friend named Janet King that passed away aged 16 when this song was in the British charts at the time and i purchased this song as a single record to remember Janet and unknown to me it made me a life long fan of Carole King, god bless you Janet such a beautiful young lady

    when Tapestry was released in '73 I HAD to get a new stereo, a $300 Toshiba ($3000+ in today's $$) to appreciate the masterpiece. She wrote every song & they were all hits + this album was #1 for months. I still have the original album & an even better system to play it on.

      The first album i purchased as a teenager . I was 13 yrs old. My sister and i have been fans since early 70s. We saw her in Nashville TN at the Rhyman on this tour many years ago. One of the best nights in my 60 yrs .

    This song always hits me in the heart. One of my favorite music composer/singers. I was surprised to learn Ms. King co-wrote, "Go Away Little Girl", the most popular version being sung Donnie Osmond. The lyrics are very bubblegum pop, but the underlying music is well written.

    Hi, My dad was a white fleet cab driver back in the 80's, he ctrl had the chance to meet you and listen to you play I New Orleans. The best for me we had an 8 track he played everyday, I know all songs by heart. I have two loves now my dad and you listening brings back good memories. THANK YOU.     Wow what a trip. This has always been one of my favorite Carole King songs. Every time I hear it I relive a heartbreak in high school. I was a junior and she was a senior we had dated for about 4 months and she clearly got her message across to me when this song came on the radio and she wanted me to listen closely to what the song said.

    Usage of major 7th chords make me feel like being in between insecure and secure because they're mixture of major and minor chords. She expresses something volatile mental situation deploying these chords and it's impressive and hits my mind. Stunning!

    .... Just discovered how to forgive, by promising self not to ever think "something inside has died", I still love her and only love.

    When Carole sings it just makes you so relaxed and bad things that were on your mind fade into the background and memories come back of good times that you had, love her voice. talented lady.

    I was almost a teenager when I bought the Tapestry album. I used to listen to it over and over singing the words I had yet to experience. Now some 50 years later this young man in an old mans body hears these words in a whole different light having lived the Album many times . She is just a blessing to have in our lives now and then

    Over 40 years ago this came out and she is still sounding as fresh today. The sign of a classic. I wonder how many music stars of today will be able to sing their songs 40 years from now?!!
