Chorus:
And it's too late, baby now, it's too late
Though we really did try to make it
Somethin' inside has died, and I can't hide
And I just can't fake it, oh, no, no

Everyone in the business of writing music admires Carol King. Her songs have survived the test of time so well.
Carole King really is one of the greatest American songwriters of all time. She's up there with Gershwin, Rogers and Hammerstein etc. That is not an exaggeration.
Gerry Dooley legend
Wonderful! So lovely to hear Carole King singing. Xx
Damn straight
she's the best of the best.
Sorry Gerry, but that Is definitely an exaggeration. I love carol king, since the early 70s, dont hink you were alive then, right?? She is great, but she's NOT in the same league as GERSHWIN, RODGERS AND HAMMERSSTEIN. LOL
It's incredible that she still sounds so amazing after all these years. How can anyone dislike this sing. Its a classic
People like different things and music is vast. Many reasons why someone won’t like this song
I think they accidentally pressed the wrong button
@@lowlowseesee Many reasons? I suppose it could be triggering to some.....
God I loved the artists from the 70's... Carol King, Carly Simon, James Taylor, Karen Carpenter to name a few... it was an era like no other with raw talent... no auto tune, etc. I miss it terribly.
How are you doing today Raechelyn Dawn? Its really nice having you on here .. I saw your profile on here and i think we definitely are on the same page on many levels. Trust, communication, loving, honoring, understanding, patience and respecting your partner. So crucial to provide balance. This is what creates such great chemistry between two people that are committed to one another.
Soft rock icons.
You forgot Deep Purple, Queen, ABBA and Aerosmith are from the 70s too
An ERA lost to today's mediocre artists.
I agree. Natural real voice so clear.Beautiful, meaningful songs. I would add, Neil Young.
One of the greatest songwriters in the past 100 years!
Her and Joni Mitchell....The best.

The most important female singer/songwriter of our time.
She’s incredible, I swear her voice has only gotten greater with age.
Agree Carole’s voice still sounds incredible. I like this extended version with the guitars. Such a beautiful song. A true songbird. 💜
She has written some of the most beautiful songs of all time 😌
This one of my favorite songs by her ❤ carol king
Her " It's too late" is getting even more impressive than the original one. I like this one.
Happy 78 birthday to Carole. This lp is in my fondest memories!
Born Feb. 9 in Manhattan.
That’s because you are very intelligent!!!! 😀👍. I ♥️ it too! A true masterpiece
This lady wrote several materpiece songs that will live on for ever.
She should be grouped with Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Frank Loesser, Hoagy Carmichael, Robert Johnson, etc.
Carol was enevidably a gift to her time to us all. Its the beauty of souls within music to send to us.
Lisa Weaver James Taylor and her still tour, just in New York just stunning
@@italia689 I agree. She's a master composer.
Yes true masterpieces. She really does not have a big song catalog. Luckily for her the quality outweighs the quantity.
Such sad memories and yet, such happy memories. I've never stopped loving you Jill.
Tapestry Album played such an important part of my life when it came out. Thank you for the music.
I was a freshman in High School in 1971, I was driving down the road this week listening to this song, remembering driving the same road 49 years ago to Tapestry on 8 track. time travel
I consider music my time machine. It works well on taking me back to a time and place on my past.
...wonderfull story...wonderfull memeries, how time has moved on...💖🤗
I also was freshman in high school !

Classic fave...and I love the texture of her voice as she's gotten older. Such a timeless song, they don't make songwriters like this anymore.
stylecollective So true, age has only added a wonderfully rich patina to her voice.
stylecollective Yas (^^)
There's a lot of great talent in the indie scene. Try looking for them, they are continuing the legacy of this great musicians
autotune
They didn't make songwriters like Carole before her either. There's only the one.

You truly can say her writings are a fine Tapestry🎱😁
One of my favorite songs of all time. Thank you Carole!
Carole King And James Taylor Are Timeless...
Got the vinyl, the audio cassette, the cd, and for years now, the video on RUclips. 1971, had a Southeast Asian trip sponsored by Uncle Sam. The woman I loved dumped me for a draft dodger. This tune brings sad memories, yet, I play it every week.
Glad you made it back sir!
I've loved her for forty+ years. She sounds like an angel to me.
I had a friend named Janet King that passed away aged 16 when this song was in the British charts at the time and i purchased this song as a single record to remember Janet and unknown to me it made me a life long fan of Carole King, god bless you Janet such a beautiful young lady
Tapestry remains one of my favourite albums of all time. Everyone should own it! Carole King, sincere, honest and completely devoid of bullshit.
when Tapestry was released in '73 I HAD to get a new stereo, a $300 Toshiba ($3000+ in today's $$) to appreciate the masterpiece. She wrote every song & they were all hits + this album was #1 for months. I still have the original album & an even better system to play it on.
How are you doing today Irene Harris? Its really nice having you on here .. I saw your profile on here and i think we definitely are on the same page on many levels. Trust, communication, loving, honoring, understanding, patience and respecting your partner. So crucial to provide balance. This is what creates such great chemistry between two people that are committed to one another.
Amo a Karol King desde que era adolescente, amo su voz, su música, sus letras, su pelo...❤
She's is a genius. Love this song, and love this live version. Just amazing. Love you Carole! Xx

My favorite carole king forever in my heart😍
Thankfully God sends such beautiful human beings like Carol King into our lives whose lyrics and musical vibe speak to the depths and longings of the heart.
@take942, Verdade!!!👍🏼
Wonderful! My mum used to play 'Tapestry' in the car when she drove me to school.
My best friend was always playing Tapestry in the car. That was my second year in my life in the U.S. 1993.
good times back in the day....
artistak1 yeah but think it came out around 1970 or 71.
The first album i purchased as a teenager . I was 13 yrs old. My sister and i have been fans since early 70s. We saw her in Nashville TN at the Rhyman on this tour many years ago. One of the best nights in my 60 yrs .
God wrote these songs through the vehicle of love that is Carole King.
Which god? Lol let the woman have her credit lol skydaddys dobt exist
The power and sadness in this is breathtakingly beautiful.
Truly a legend and glad we all get to know her great voice that has accompanied us all these years... 😘😍😎🙏
Carol King youre so beautiful...and your voice doesnt change.
Fantastic musician and a beautiful woman!!!!
Carole King moves my soul in such incredible and freeing ways. Truly an extraordinary legend.
That voice aged beautifully... 🥰🥰
Incredibly talented woman, every inspiring musician should aim to be the best like this.
So beautiful, Carole!!!
The most remarkable composers period of life, one of the best ever. She is always in my music album.
This song always hits me in the heart. One of my favorite music composer/singers. I was surprised to learn Ms. King co-wrote, "Go Away Little Girl", the most popular version being sung Donnie Osmond. The lyrics are very bubblegum pop, but the underlying music is well written.
Hi, My dad was a white fleet cab driver back in the 80's, he ctrl had the chance to meet you and listen to you play I New Orleans. The best for me we had an 8 track he played everyday, I know all songs by heart. I have two loves now my dad and you listening brings back good memories. THANK YOU. YOUR MUSIC IS ONE OF A KIND,NOT REPLACEABLE. I wish we could go back to the old days. THANK YOU MRS.CAROL KING
When music was real. When life was simple. When you feel care free as a kid playing outside.
Wish we could go back to those days. 😊
an icon for which time does not pass. It's a delight to be able to see this woman again.👌👌👌
Carole King is a huge and timeless artist. This is pure ART, and her voice had no changes through so many years! This is a musical prodigy, a miracle. Thanks Carole
U rock girl...We are old now, but still going strong!!!!! Love all your songs, will stay with with me forever...
"I'm glad for what we had and how I once loved you." Everyone has one of those in their life, someone once loved, gone, but never forgotten. Beautiful....
Carole...if I could only touch you in my dreams, as you have with your music...you are a beautiful woman and a beautiful artist.
Wow what a trip. This has always been one of my favorite Carole King songs. Every time I hear it I relive a heartbreak in high school. I was a junior and she was a senior we had dated for about 4 months and she clearly got her message across to me when this song came on the radio and she wanted me to listen closely to what the song said.
I love you Carole King I just went to NYC and saw the Beautiful the Carole King Musical
You are the best mom and strong women
This lady is the real deal.Pure talent and ageless sound.
Carole is just so gorgeous , Oh yeah her voice is nice too!
It just does Not get any better....Love you Carol!
This has to be one of the finest, time proven songs in pop history. Carole is stellar, her voice has matured into a rich burgundy. Velvet with little rips. Voice has credibility and experience.
I JUST CAN SAY...SHE'S AMAZING!!! AN BEAUTIFUL ANGEL SINGS!!
JESUS! Amazing like the 70's! Thank you, Carole! Meu Deus do céu, que música boa e que cantora maravilhosa!
Carole King, simply a marvel of musical spider and vocal interpretation.
Not only one of the greatest song writers one of the greatest entertainers live versions of music is great too anyone else in quarantine May 2020 listening
Usage of major 7th chords make me feel like being in between insecure and secure because they're mixture of major and minor chords. She expresses something volatile mental situation deploying these chords and it's impressive and hits my mind. Stunning!
It's not too late baby to hear your beautiful voice in this masterpiece! I love you Carole!
This incredible song encapsulates the pain caused by the casual approach to relationships that came with the sexual revolution of the 60s and early 70s. The Boomers believed that as long as they pursued their personal desires and fulfillment, that the rest of the world would adjust to accommodate them.
Very rare voice..extra ordinary...brings me back the good memories..mabuhay !! greetings from the philippines..
The voice is still powerful even after all these years. Fight on and live strong beautiful lady.
Tapestry spent 20 years on the Billboard Top 100 album chart. That's incredible!!
Crazy I just watched the 1971 version this sounds just as good if not better! This 58 year old owes my musical life to this great song writer. I played this song and won the talent show in 1974 ! Thank you for the musical vaccination Carol Joan Klein, myself and my family love you!
Timeless... 2019.
anyone else get chills at 4:15 thru 4:17? god she is good
Joshua's Universe 💖 yes when she did that little 'thingy' with her voice! Like WOW! Yesssssss ! And YES !

She sang the melody into a beautiful BbMajor 7th chord., as if singing the strings of the human heart 💖..

Staggering musical voice. Something about it is multi layered. Its the real x factor.

You are one of my favorite artists! I was born in 1970 but my parents played so many genres of music!! Average White Band. Christopher Cross, Eric Clapton, etc.,.etc

We are all lucky to have lived in this time to have experienced Carol's music. Truly exceptional
This is feeling...pure, honest and timeless...
Piano and guitar interlude even more movingly beautiful than the Tapestry version!
Extraordinaria Carol king
Carole, I have enjoyed your talents for many many decades. Big crush from Phoenix.
I love your music, the perfect chords of your piano, thank you so much for this beautiful song and for being part of my affective memory, my sweet and beautiful childhood when I listened to you on the record player at my father's house. I love you for all this
♥️🌹👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎼
0 to add! YOU said it all/feelings do count more than words, w.love, Karita.
.... Just discovered how to forgive, by promising self not to ever think "something inside has died", I still love her and only love.
I just need to keep remembering the boundaries around that love, despite no boundaries 🤷🏾♂️🤔🙄🧘🏾♂️💭
Still growing
Wow....
Not too late for you even get older , you have still passionate ❤
When Carole sings it just makes you so relaxed and bad things that were on your mind fade into the background and memories come back of good times that you had, love her voice. talented lady.
I was almost a teenager when I bought the Tapestry album. I used to listen to it over and over singing the words I had yet to experience. Now some 50 years later this young man in an old mans body hears these words in a whole different light having lived the Album many times . She is just a blessing to have in our lives now and then
omg i have goose bumps!!!!! Everything about this performance is superb
After all this time she still performs with such sincerely. As if the hurt is fresh. Wow!!
Over 40 years ago this came out and she is still sounding as fresh today. The sign of a classic. I wonder how many music stars of today will be able to sing their songs 40 years from now?!!
This WHOLE PERFORMANCE gives me the GOOSEBUMPS!! 😵💫
