All you need to do is put one extra link in the chain as to what the bar says and the holes that are already there will pick it up and work just fine

      I’ll keep that in mind

Yep that’s what I did instead. Get the chain for the 161t or whatever and it has one more drive link no need for drilling

But dont you need to drill the holes for the oiler and so the cover and lock properly.? I just ordered the 2511t and im trying to find the absolute lightes bar and chain set up for a 14inch@ryanrevoir137

I recommend using a carbide drill as the steel used for guide bars is really tough.

I definitely appreciate that advice, because I had to sharpen bit 3 times. Finally I got another bit.

Why all the time and expense to switch over?

Not sure, that’s what he insisted on. He’s got a wall full of carving chainsaws. He said “ this is what I want, can you make that happen?” I said “get your check book out”.

@@lesteroliveintheshop9825 I'm a chainsaw carver from Minnesota. That bar and chain setup minimizes the amount of sanding on his finished product not to mention cut time on the finished product. These saws are doing well among carvers. Always run and start. I'm actually moving away from stihl saws and going to all echo, except on my big saw. I've been looking for a video like this. thanks for posting. May I ask what you charge to do this? Also wondering if you could do something similar with a cs-400 echo?

@@TheBobford71 not sure on the 400 I’d have to check on that. I set these up for around one hundred and fifteen. Includes bar, chain, and sprocket.
