I wear wool muck boot socks while wearing spurs. They're thick and protect your lower leg from getting beat up. I've tried the longjohn bottoms, which help some, but these are better and go up to your knees. I still love climbing at 68.
I'm glad you are getting over whatever it is you had August. Prayers were said for you here. I bought a 2511t mostly because of your videos of it. It's my fav saw but we do quite different work.

I just want say! being a guy on the west coast and doing huge trees... your crew are and keep pretty good respect for your language towards each other! Like what you guys do!
Always nice to see your team's dynamics. Just got home from an ash removal and I am feeling it. First day back from two weeks with a gastro intestinal problem. Still there but felt good to be out in the rain.
Oh man, you had me laughing with the "do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight" Funny stuff right there. I'm old enough to have gotten down tonight.
I have had mine for about two years. Did the mods and it is awesome. Sometimes I should move to a bigger saw but don’t want to put it down. I might bite the bullet and send it to ripsaw.

Thanks for another enjoyable video, I'm still lovin my 2511. I'm going in my pines with it this weekend in my wonderful MB saddle. I think you read my mind on the tree hunting angle. I was kind of figuring you could expand your market base selling to the hunting crowd, it's exactly my plan to go aloft with my Redhawk .44 mag strapped on the saddle next season. Maybe you could market a line of MB holsters😁. Congrats on the new baby, 🙏Prayers for good health and safety always coming your way.
A person who has common sense and a desire to listen and learn but also follow instruction...they can do a lot which is out of their norm. Under the right circumstances, why not let the owner help out. You may be giving them a good story to tell.
I'm catching up on your videos. Youre very correct about a harness being very comfortable to wait hours in for an animal. The 2.0 would be a lot more than a hunter would want to spend , or haul in. I was fortunate enough to get a New Tribe Revolution before they closed their shop. Its definitely better than any of the others I've tried. I considered hunting out of my Onyx until I got the Revolution. If I can ever wear out the Onyx , I will be trying a Monkey Beaver 5.0. You might be on to that revision number by the time I need to replace my current one.
Love my Panther 16" equipped modded 2511t. Been on the same bar since you started selling them, wore out a few chains along the way, waiting for a 20" bar if you ever get them. Just modded a friends new2 2511t - had a spare clutch for him, but had to use Stihl bar and 1/4 pitch green chain (he ground back the guard plates, but it's still not the same). With exhaust and carb work. it's nice, but not as fast as the Panther setup. Wish I had a harem....
According to my saw guy. The echo 2511 does not like older gas. Mine was sitting for 2weeks and wasn’t running well, he dumped the gas and it ran like new.
wait, you can't use two saws at once? pshhh, time to retire buddy lol but anyways, it is nice to see the 2511 back. You're influence has made me a 2511er for life! God Bless!

No one should underestimate the value of an extremely lightweight saw. I need to get my Speedcut Nano chain on mine, which should help quite a bit. I'll have to see if Makita has their nano sprocket available now. Nice to have the same bar/chain on my saws.
I put the 14" nano on mine. Not significantly faster than the 3/8lp but it is faster, and much smoother. The .325 nano sprocket is larger so it gets the chain speed up. It's a touch front heavy now but still very pleasant to run. The extra 2" of reach is worth it. I wish tsumura would make .043 lightweight skinny bars it would be like a dang scalpel.
@@mattfleming86 Yeah, I'll be happy to have a chain that isn't so grabby! I don't have any mods except for an Egan pipe. Should cut well enough for me but I do eventually want to get an engine assembly so I can play around with porting and then I little timing. A Tsumura bar would be nice - have their lightweights on all my Dolmars, including the 7900.
@@boomupengineering I'm at a simple muffler mod (mild in case i want to put it back on later) and a timing advance. Going to order the pipe soon. I didn't want to get too crazy until it was well broken in anyways. Echoes tend to "mod themselves" for the first 10-20 tanks (🤣) I do like the nano but don't expect it to cut BIG wood much faster. I think most of the gains come in smaller limbs from the sprocket as the kerf is not that much narrower than 3/8. But definitely handy when you need something small to drop cut flatter. I may get a quarter pitch b&c with a stihl or other high quality bar just to play around.
The pull cord trick is cool but theyre also the only caps you can’t undo with just your hand like stihl/husky flip up caps. Love my ported 2511 with stihl 1/4 pitch tho. Great saw
Was that little saw an Echo? I have been considering getting a couple of Echo saws, one of which will be a top handle saw for climbing. So I would like to hear from August and others about this. Have you used Echo saws in tree work? How did they do? Did they have special features like the starter handle being a gas & oil wrench? And what else would you like to report?
Possibly unrelated, however I had idling issue with my echo 2511 mostly when hanging on harness (inverted). Mad skilled saw tech put a foam insert in there somewhere and seemed to help. Interesting.
I had the same problem with hard idling with my 2511. Rich aka the saw king told me to replace the spark plug. They get fouled quicker with the modified 2511
Have the Echo saw running & put some carb cleaner spray though it, the type of cleaner i use will stall it out, leave for a few minutes, start and use...
I think on your 2511 I have the same ones from rich. I love them just need to turn the idle up. A little bit should be fine. Maybe the fuel a little bit The low God bless August.
August just curious the zigzag you're using. It's the smaller one. Did you buy a bunch of them at 1 time? Or you still use in the same one? From years ago I see you. Don't use the new plus one just curious I have one as well
I swear by Echo whenever possible because I can leave Echos in the back of a truck through rain and snow, then pull and start. No other brand did that for me.
What kind of tree was that today? Way different than what I’m used to seeing you guys do over there . Looks similar to our gumbo limbo trees in Florida. Great video August!
And just my opinion I do like Nano. I just think the 325 chain is too big for the 2511. When you put that quarter pitch on there it's a whole another cut
2511’s are awesome but only with a 1/4 pitch. But unfortunately like you said, those bars are iffy. At least mine was. Works but the grove is oversized
my 2511 stalls out when its not had much use or the air filter is a bit clogged. Such a tiny saw, have to keep on top of the maintenance a bit extra. You probably know that, but for watchers who have just got one etc . . .
Great job and I 100% agree with what you were saying at the end. Alcohol is just like being on TV. It just brings out the good and the bad qualities you have. Stay safe homie.
Can anyone give me a suggestion for a bar replacement while waiting for the Panthers to get a thumbs up? I bought the conversation from Monkey Beaver for my 2511t and it has been outstanding up to yesterday and finally failed. Can I just use a Stihl bar with my extra Panther chains? Is there a better option? I'm just a home owner that cuts my own fire wood, not a pro like many of you, but this saw has been a game changer for me, and I'd like to get it back into my game as quickly as possible. Running my larger Stihls is beating me up for limbing and such. Thanks all!
