Great job, Fred. As a matter of interest _Turn-On_ from 5 Feb 1969 is not only on the list of shows cancelled after one episode but was actually cancelled before the episode ended. Station WEWS-TV out of Cleveland, Ohio didn't return to the show after the first commercial break. Western affiliates monitoring the East Coast feed chose not to air it.

12:25. In first run syndication Magilla ( voice of Alan Melvin) would have said something along the lines of " The Magilla Gorilla Show has been presented by Ideal Toys they're wonderful toys... they're IDEAL..get it". This was from the ABC network run of the series which began in January of 1967. Which still used Ideal Toys as a sponsor but added co-sponsors such as Nabisco and Del- Monte.

Turn On, ABCs answer to Laugh in, was a turn off in comedy, despite a bunch of talented comic actors, including Chuck McCann, the great Laurel and Hardy impressionist. The humor was forced and there was no chemistry with the cast. Master ventriloquist Paul Winchell was the most famous of the Banana Split voices ( think Tigger, Knucklehead, Scrubbing Bubbles…same voice…)and good old Allan Melvin ( Brady Bunch, Archie Bunker’s Place, Bilko, ) was the voice of Magilla Gorilla ( I remember it in prime time) . Fred-tasting video!
