My big sister got a swinger camera for Christmas one year. i think she still has it in its original box. She brought it out a few years ago at a family Christmas gathering at their home. Her sons and grandchildren would laugh at it I suppose My two little brothers claimed all my good stuff as I got older. They did at least have the generosity to ask first at least. lol. At sixteen with my own car I had no use for all that anymore. I got the first GI JOE and his jeep and gear kind of wish I had kept it. It was kept pristine until then.

Great show Fred, thanks friend! You know, back in the 60s my mom would slick down my hair with VO5 for church or school pictures. In the seventies, I used The Dry Look hairspray to helmetize my coiffed head. Stopped putting anything in my hair fir the next 30 years until my mid-50s when my hair turned gray and I started using Brylcreem. They're right, a little dab will do you! Funny thing about cigarette commercials. I love them, but they never made me want to smoke. In my day we understood the difference between a commercial sales pitch and reality. We made Mom buy the breakfast cereals that actually had Sugar in their names because they tasted good, not because we believed they'd make us fly around the room as the commercials suggested (that only happened when we ate several bowlfuls).

    Nice job again, Fred!
5:23 - As someone else noticed, Herb Anderson (aka, Henry Mitchell) was smoking a Kool Cigarette here. I wonder if that brand felt cooler than the others. I'm not a smoker, so I wouldn't know.
7:28 - I hope not many people had their new RCA color sets repossessed if they couldn't afford all the installment debt they got for the sets, which were cheaper 10-20 years later in real dollars.
9:00 - I saw recently (I think on JEOPARDY!) that Pop Tarts were originally called "Fruit Scones". I don't think they would've sold as well under that name. I guess the frosted type came out later. My favorite flavor, Chocolate-Vanilla Creme, isn't made anymore, though it's similar to Cookies & Cream.
10:30 - I wonder who was Igor to Boris Karloff's Dr. Frankenstein here.
11:50 - I've never heard of an "Opal Kadett" before. I guess it was the first GM brand to be discontinued.
11:56 - This MONKEES closing is from "Monkees in a Ghost Town", OAD 10/24/1966. "Sally Rogers" had "Uncle Leo" & "the Wolfman" as her henchmen here. :)

Oh my goodness, the cigarettes. Everything and everybody everywhere stunk whether they smoked or not, because you could light up at will and there was no general expectation of truly fresh air no matter where you were. So many other things about the 60s were great, but that was truly gross in hindsight.
