  • Santa Monica 1972 - Public Talk 3 - In freedom there is order
    Summary:
    How does order come about in our life?
    When you compare yourself with somebody else, you’re not only denying your own light, you’re trying to imitate, conform to the light of another.
    Can thought ever produce order?
    Q: Could you go into thought and why we desire to separate ourselves from one another?
    Q: From where does the new come, a new invention, a new perception?
    Q: When many in the audience laughed, you said, ‘Please do not laugh, this is very serious.’ Is that not a conception of how seriously or not seriously to take the whole matter?
    Q: It seems to me that to be free one must be able to see what actually is. Yet to see what actually is, it seems that one must be free. Is that not a paradox?
    Q: Could you discuss loneliness, how it drives us in different directions?
    Q: When I am looking at you and I bring in images between what I am seeing and what you really are, is that thought?

    "living is the process of fear" - if you are constantly aware of it, you will experience liberation. His clarity is beyond excellence! Thank you.

    I think pleasure (which is very variable) is not as bad as we painted to be....
    It is a division or derivative of love in it's incomplete form.
    So when you like something...use that feeling and imagine how you will have felt if you liked everything 😮

      Loneliness can only occur as long as you think you should not be on your own. But why do you imagine a state that is not now? You can talk to your neighbour anytime, but then the neighbour seems not as good as they should be and so on.

    disorder is the result of our thoughts and can not be converted into order by the same thoughts....yes SIR IT IS SO...amazing

    When you have an insight and understand where and how you create disorder, you can react immediately and stop that disorder. So all that is necessary to stop disorder is to have an insight which does not depend on one's own images, expectations and conclusions. Never try to escape from a fact, on the contrary, try to see the truth of it! Then freedom is just the freedom of making the right choices. To prevent disorder, you may orient yourself toward love, but don't confuse it with pleasure.
    That's the way I see it for myself.

    57:03 ; 58:22 What are we contributing to? To the world of darkness? Or to the world of light? One must ask this question of oneself most seriously and earnestly. Otherwise one is merely superficially listening to the words --- and what is the point of it? And attend to the fact that who are serious, listen and live the teachings have to live in a world of darkness and yet not contribute to darkness and misery. This makes one much more attentive and alert. To be a light to oneself and therefore to the world. To stand alone completely unattached and unafraid.

    I've never understood K's beef with how certain age groups or people dress themselves; isn't the preference for one form of clothing over another part of our conditioning?

    • @mahaveer1india
      @mahaveer1india 3 года назад +1

      I may not agree with him on this point. (It could be merely my understanding) perhaps he is trying to point out our pretentiousness and denial about the aging.

    • @phoema80
      @phoema80 3 года назад +4

      If you deny the thought-flow both in the past and in the future you do not think about dressing up to look nicer hence more desirable (for both men and women). his example was related to the fact that the "me" is in constant search to fulfill the desires. The point is always why a person does something! If you dress up because you need someone else to pump your ego your "me, ego, I" has hold of you so to say and you are not independent, you are not a light to yourself.
